The ZWO AM5 mount on the 365Astronomy stand that you mentioned at 4:45 we actually sold at the show, so that was available for sale at the time of taking the video... Otherwise, more stock is coming in about a week or so. Cheers. Zoltan from 365Astronomy
Ah, sorry, that was true. I think the thing that held me back was that there wasn't a show price. If there was it might have tipped me over the edge. However, supply and demand means, if there are people willing to pay full price then there's no need to entice people. It was great to see one in real life too, a very impressive piece of kit. Something so small yet capable to handle sizeable payloads.
Yes, it looks like Tony Owens modified EQ-8 R. He also sells parts to improve the mount I believe. Quite active in the various EQ8 groups. Haven't tried his improvements as I am happy with my stock mount though.
So cmon spill the beans what did you buy?, we went today & I bought a couple of little bits to try out but I didn't go mad as there were plenty of boxes full of clouds being sold as it is, plus Kelling Heath cleared us out a bit to. We spoke to Peter Shah on the Roboscopes stand a very clever bloke about imaging but then he has been doing it for years. Also saw a few youTubers there today to & said hello & had a chat. I#t been a good day but now we're both shattered.
I somehow managed to not buy anything! So close to getting a 2600 or an AM5 if they had stock or a show discount but instead I walked away happy in seeing lots of fun things and talking to some interesting people. :)
Nice,,,The lecturers are a real buzz aren't they, we saw Chris Lintot talk about astronomy zoo & Professor Mike Merrifield talk about galaxy mergers, and Paddy Gilliand chat about processing,,I think that was before the days of pixinsight, a few years ago now.
There were fantastic talks I agree. It wasn’t a talk but when I was speaking to the guy at roboscopes he talked about imaging deepsky using film and manual guiding! If we think astrophotography is hard today then it’s nothing compared to that!
@@astrojourneyuk I started a group on Facebook back in 2016 when I got my first setup,,,Single exposure astrophotography,,quite a few in that group who still use film. Yea,,,we've got it easy. 👍
It was pretty cool. Also guaranteed clouds in the uk for a while with all the purchasing going on. Apart from where I live which is clear tomorrow. 😂😂😂
Oh no, how frustrating! I'm glad I could help. If you would like to send me some money my way for some kit and I'll send the clouds just for the complete experience. :) Get well soon.
Way too much astrophotography. What's fun about everyone making photos of the same things over and over again? Just use your eyes, there's no need for all these photos.
For me it’s about a sense of achievement in producing my view of the night sky. If I could see this clearly with my own eyes I’d be looking more than imaging but sadly I like in a bortle 6 and my eyes are no way as sensitive as a camera.
Great vid Marc! - It looked a fair bit calmer on the Friday I think, today was pretty manic! :-D Thanks for sharing!
It was bliss on Friday. Just the right amount of people I’d say.
Looks fantastic, thanks👍 I’m going tomorrow, hopefully haven’t sold out of everything 😀
I so could have walked out with a 2600MM Pro and an AM5 mount, but sense took over. 😂

Thank you for the visit!😊
It was definitely worth it, and given it was only 40 minutes away hard to resist! Fantastic value for money too.
tempted to get that Z4 on that AM5 mount
3:53 Holy smokes, is that an EQ-8 modified into two telescope mount? Really interesting stuff you got in there!
Sadly I didn’t get a chance to ask what on earth was going on here. Way beyond my reach at home. 😂

@@astrojourneyuk But I'm so glad that you filmed a glimpse of that frankenstein. Thank you 😂
@@PierreVandevenne Yeah, even on "normal" EQ-8, the payload is more than enough! It's really a beast

Turns out I'm camping at Stoneleigh. So I went to the show after seeing your video. my wife is going to kill me lol.
😂😂😂 Oops. Is she going to kill you because you bought something or just because you went?
Great video, Marc and looks like a fun day...kudos on your self-control in keeping the wallet in your pocket! LoL!
I literally don’t know how I managed it. I should have haggled for them for the display version. 😂😂😂
Now those are some seriously beautiful "rocket-launchers" they got on display there...
😂😂😂

@@astrojourneyuk send you some money!, you're so funny🤣
It’s the perfect scam for the UK because it’s always cloudy. 😂😂😂
@@astrojourneyuk 🤣🤣🤣
Hopefully UA-cam doesn’t think I’m trying to scam you now. 😂😂😂
I bet that you almost sold your car 😂
😂😂😂😂 With an AM5 and 2600MM Pro you could get a good deposit on a car!
