  • After Chuck Dogg's acquittal, he then a follow-up single titled "Nothing But a G Thang." This track marked a significant evolution in his musical style, blending his foundational funk with emerging elements of what would become known as hip-hop. The single was ahead of its time, laying down rhythmic beats and a smooth lyrical flow that showcased Chuck's versatility and foresight in music trends.

Rumour has it that Michael McDonald was the ghostwriter for this classic. The Doobie Brothers, however, were not impressed with the direction that he was taking with the music, so they passed on the song. Mike decided to embark on a solo career not too long afterward. Years later, he became the inspiration for gangsta rappers like Warren G, Nate Dogg and other brothas from the West Side. 😁😁😁😁

Speaking of Good Times, J.J. and Thelma played this song at the house party they threw when Florida went out of town. Michael got lucky but Valona snitches on them...Episode 4, Season 4...😅

When the world was asking "Did D do it?"...he was acquitted. The truth shocked the world! The trial sparked debates in every living room in America as so many were lined up to persecute him for years leading up to his acquittal. Even as his closest friends abandoned him, he held no ill will towards them or the public who called for his demise. As he got into his truck to leave the courts he smiled, and with his trademark tone thanked the judge jury and his attorney. A public defender who later became one of the most sought after defense attorneys in the nation. Chuck shot back at the world with Nothing But a G Thing less than 30 minutes later, solidifying his legendary status in music for eternity.
