This was the norm back in the days of perfect 10 and open ended scoring system :( Was watching clips of 2008 Beijing recently and when someone had a leg break even the NBC commentators picked it out but now generally only the Chinese gymnasts remember this imo.

And it’s so clear that she can beat Nemour on BOTH difficulty and execution (the last one wouldn’t be the first time 🤭). Nemour is looking more than amazing and it’s right there tho. If she works on her ricna half and actually gets credit for it then will be neck to neck if both hit. So exciting!

Yeah but that’s if she hits beam. And there’s two things, beam is troublesome for everyone and anything can happen, and the Chinese are inconsistent on Beam.
The issue is that her strong event is beam, which she can score above 15 on (but also wobble a few times and score 13.5). Andrade can have a subpar vault and still score 14.5+, so Qiu would have to be near perfect on the day.
maybe shilese, she can only beat rebeca if rebeca make a mistake or two. rebeca can be great on all apparatus: 14.9-15.2 vault / 14.5-14.7 bars/ 13.8-14.3 beam/ 14.0-14.6 floor

@@maussolo they have a dty and a dtt, and Brazil was weak on bars and beam as well, China could score 44 on both beam and bars, while brazil would barely crack 41.5 on both events, that's a 7 point advantage, china have 2 potential 14 vaults, and so brazil gains 2 points there, and china have 3 13.5 floor, so brazil gain around 2.5 there, that means china bars and beam could make up the 4.5 difference on vault and floor but still manage to have a 2.5 point advantage, so that they could still win with mistakes

Cuz nemour skills was easier, qiu got 3 F and 4E, kaylia only have 1G and 4E, both of them got similar amount of connections 1.0 for kaylia and 0.8 for qiu, while most of qiu connection gets .2 bonus but kaylia only get mostly .1
Qiyuan has a more difficult routine as others explained. In addition her routine needs an enormous flexibility in her arms that not many gymnasts have it which means that some of those skills you see can’t be performed by other gymnasts. Kaylia’s skills are hard all combined together but individually they are skills that every gymnast can perform (at least on the elite level).
@@Zuranthium Separatly if they train yes they can perform them. Pirouettes need arm flexibility, if e gymnast isn’t flexible in that part of the body they simply cannot perform them no matter how much they train them.
It's supposed to be named the Scheder-Simm but the rules in the past didn't allow skills to be named if two people performed it at the same time at an official event.
Simone won the beam at 2023 Worlds last October With a score of 14.800 to Zagnins 14.700 Z had a beautiful routine with zero big mistakes and Simone STILL beat her!
