putting everton’s win down to purely fatigue isn’t entirely wrong, but it’s a bit disrespectful to dyche and the quality of the everton players to say that imo
Really good analysis on Brighton and the brilliant way they’ve played this season. To reduce Everton’s performance to simply “the oppostion was tired” is a bit basic though. That first half display was exceptional
As an Everton fan it was obviously a huge surprise. It was clear though in recent games that Brighton were tired and getting leggy. Strangely, when a team is leggy they usually start slowly. People think it only kicks in at the end. The last ten minutes are a problem too but the slow start is where the game is often lost. The fitness levels even out in the second half because the team that starts brightly expend a lot of energy while they are dominating and on top. We were sprinting over long distances continually. The score line could have been and should have been much worse at half time. It was clear in the second half we just decided to surrender possession and position, as if to say, try and score three with all these players and an in-form keeper to get past. Plus Brighton had no choice but to attack. The wide open spaces got bigger too and in the few breaks we got, we just ran at them. It’s no fun chasing players over long distance, in footballing terms. It was a mixture of tactics being spot on, clinical finishing and Brighton’s tiredness.
well, Dyche was correct when he said in his first Everton interview, yes we do the bleep test but it is to see where our level is, and working on the long yards, etc. proves sometimes this works.
As a Burnley fan find it interesting how Dyche often seemed to get his teams to over perform/out think v top sides (Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U) one week then get stuffed by relegation rivals the next.
Everton's fifth goal was a reenactment of Geoff Hurst's third goal for England against Germany in 1966...."They think it's all over....it is now!"......Boom!..get in!...💙UTFToffees! 💙
Everton fan here, smashing analysis mate. Nearly saying "Warm and fuzzy in my tum tum" at the end there got me feeling all nostalgic. If you know, you know.
Bwighton here. This was a great explanation. You just missed out, Bounanotte was a bit short to be constant fed a ball with those giant units at the back Everton had. Even 2nd half, we still trying. ? Great Manager SD, certainly done a number on us. No complaints but the result. ;)
Thx for the video mate my football iq isnt that high so i dont notce alot of the tactics and catch myself ball watching alot. You do a splendid job at breaking it down and explaining to knobheads like me. 👍
Brighton beat Wolves 6-0 and then beat Man Utd 1-0. Then Dyche-ball ruins them. The beauty of the PL. You think you're good then you get a reality check.
As a Brighton fan, it's really interesting to see the better Premier League managers getting to understand de Zerbi and how to confound him. Brighton have been found out by Erik ten Hag in the FA Cup semi-final and by Sean Dyche on Monday. De Zerbi has now to move to Stage 2 to continue to confound. No, I don't know what 'Stage 2 de Zerbi football' will be but I'm very confident he'll work it out and next season should be a lot of fun for us Seagulls!!
I watched extended highlights and I couldn't understand this one at all. Beautifully and comicly explained; don't know how I didn't come across FourFourTwo's channel earlier having read plenty of the mags!
You forget that little Leicester won the league playing counter attacking football. There are only 11 players and jam can only be spread so thinly. Most players are thick so keeping it simple is a good idea
Was struggling with red players for Everton. Otherwise enjoyable. I know they played in pink and subbuteo probably haven’t got round to doing pink teams but still. It was a bit like watching Sammy Lee in an Everton tracksuit when Allardyce was boss. Just not right
I’d really love to see you do a video PRE the BHA v Toon match. Newcastle have a notoriously high press and Brighton would seem to be the absolute nemesis of that. How Howe (‘Howay the lads’:) will cope is going to be fascinating.
Brilliant analysis. I wonder if more should be made of the early goal. Do you think the Everton strategy would have still been ultimately successful without that early bonus?
Brighton play Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday (May 14th) and then the toon 4 days later on Thursday (May 18th) so we have an extra day & a half of rest from the Leeds match on Saturday lunch time (12.30) - quick, please send this video to Eddie Howe. 😃
Now, the funny part is that to counter this strategy, you only need to give them a taste of their own cake. Literally giving the ball to them and just waiting in your own midfield for the mistake, or attacking with max 5 players to secure the defense. De Zerbi needs to adapt sometimes this style (I know he doesn't like it), but it's a great way to obtain points against teams like Everton, Nottingham, Leeds, Fulham, Brentford and Leicester (teams which took points away from Brighton using a quite same strategy)...
As a Burnley fan I can confirm this is correct. We regularly lost to lower league teams under Dyche in the cups - see the games against Lincoln City, Burton Albion, Accrington Stanley, Port Vale and Swindon Town. As an aside, we also used to get a bit bullied by lower league sides because although we might have been nasty, dirty, WWF Burnley to the big Premier League clubs, we actually weren't really by EFL standards, and we'd get out-competed at times.
Sean dyche just copies Steve cooper he's been watching his games half the season. We literally did the same thing at forest before Everton where's our video 😂
Excuse me but can you tell the TV people to film matches only from behind the goal. The pitch is a rectangle, they need to show it lengthwise with the goals in shot the whole time. Does my head in why they make us watch it from the side with the cameras swivelling from side to side, just because that's the way it's always been done.
Its funny, when he brought this to Burnley when they won it was lucky this and lucky that and the other team played so bad... now hes at EverBurn suddenly hes a genius lol
Sorry Everton fans but anybody with pink 3rd kit like that deserves to be relegated! End of. It's not even electric pink, its insipid, weak, effeminate pink! I am even going to say powder puffy.

Everton, never shone so brightly. Everton, spirit of the Blues!!! 🎶

What people probable missed was how many times Pickford saved us in this game
Well it is his job just like any keeper!
Yes having watched the highlights I didn’t realise either! 4 excellent saves! Wow
Thx for the video mate my football iq isnt that high so i dont notce alot of the tactics and catch myself ball watching alot. You do a splendid job at breaking it down and explaining to knobheads like me. 👍
God I love Sean Dyche
Can’t defend for 90 mins but can for 80 🤔 just attack for 10 💡

I hope he doesnt come up with a new plan before Eddie Howe (hopefully) uses a similar strategy to get 3 points.
You absolutely rock!!!! Thank you for this! And yes I am an Everton fan!
That was so enjoyable to watch! Learnt something. Cheers!

Now Dyche has become a master tactician a genius of football. "Catenaccio" at his best. A 70 year old tactic based on counter attack.

Everton are unbeaten in Pink this season
@@86Dillan pretty too

Sean Dyche is the new Sam Allerdyce. He always saves teams from relegation.
*growling* Lads, it's not rocket science
So why haven’t others done it!
Great analysis….thx 👍
Michael ball?
Brilliant analysis. I wonder if more should be made of the early goal. Do you think the Everton strategy would have still been ultimately successful without that early bonus?
That was genius tactics from dyche but so simple shame we didnt repeat at city but city are on a completely different level

Another great video from my main man Adam Clery!
It also helps not to press when you've taken the lead after 30 seconds.
Great observations thanks.
Being 1 - nil up after 34 seconds helped an awful lot...
Sometimes youthful brilliance is simply beaten by old whisdom. What Dike did was masterful.
Were they tired when they conceded in the 1st minute?
Lets hope in continues on Sunday
Great video!

Great video
Bloody hell Cleary gets everywhere 🤣
Apparently, FourFourTwo is Dyche's favourite football magazine...
He did this last year when with Burnley he has form on this
I think you’re being incredibly patronising towards Dyche and his tactics
4-3-3 Dyche Ball 🏴🫘☕️🫖
Brit used all there energy against Manchester United
Very good
Im so not used to seeing you outside of wrestling content, lmao.
Was just a good game, so why they didn’t use the same method against city
So they sat deep and hit them on the break? I mean, yeah, it has been done before...

But then you need to favour one way team or another...
You gotta be joking, right? I don't get it!!
Lets not read too much into it. It was an absolute apparition. These things happen.
Its funny, when he brought this to Burnley when they won it was lucky this and lucky that and the other team played so bad... now hes at EverBurn suddenly hes a genius lol

Stupid reason, They didn’t relegated, Happy for them.
Phrases you never hear: anything containing'Everton' and 'genius'
Yet here we are......
