Nah the funny part to me is that knov was acting so badass when he first met killua, then he gets a mental breakdown and killua and gon fight the royal guards
@@poser2588 You gotta remember, he was using In, which means he felt Pouf's En bare. Remember how they described it as walking through a blizzard without clothes on in the Heaven's Arena arc? And that was referencing Hisoka's Nen, so imagine how brutal Pouf's must've been.
another thing about meruem and komugi, during their final moments, meruem keeps asking every 10 seconds if komugi is still there. when meruem's character was first introduced, his catch phrase was "I won't repeat myself" and in his final moments he continues to ask if komugi is still there, repeating himself.
Meruem and Komugi final scene is the first and only time I ever cried during a show. Netero and Meruem are two of my favorite characters and throughout those moments I didn't know who to root for. So much I want to say. I'm going to watch it again
Idk why but the part where the mother meets her daughter again as a chimera ant was so heavyyy and it’s funny how kite is reborn as a rebellious little girl
Extreme the last part with Komugi and Meruem almost broke me but, that part where the ant (Reyna) reunited with her mother hit HARD, harder than anything in any anime idek why but i loved it
Ngi I’ve cried watching a lot of anime But the one that stocked with me was meruem The other anime’s use cheap tricks like background music and things like his father was dead or his brother was dead or something like that and it’s really boring But meruem death was on a whole other level You might really think if he was better than the human leaders
Jayglizzy x Gaming filler fights/scenes: cheetah vs morel (2x), tiger vs morel, palm and Gons date, anything involving the octopus, palm and the old pervert, the wolf (like seriously, he got more screen time than gon in the invasion) etc. Plot holes/armor: queen giving birth to royal guard before consuming a Nen user, king being born with so much power even though the queen never ate a Nen user that was more skilled then a stick, the king surviving a nuke. If Netero was so strong, he could have easily stormed the nest and killed the queen before she gave birth to the king, they could have also just as easily nuked the nest.
Will Rutherford first they explain that the ants are from the dark continent so that is where the nen could of cane from also the qween age kite expect his head pitou kept his head, second netero had to train to get his power back it was stated that pitou was stronger than him so he went to train to get some of his power back because he hasn’t train in along time and his age, meruem didn’t survive the nuke he died but was resurrected by the royal guards and remember the qeeen ate humans which everyone has life energy it is just dormant. And yeh fights you listed wasn’t filler
It was better expressed in the manga. Killua telling Gon "He's light" in the Anime wasn't romantic in nature, it was a metaphor of Gon's contagious but blinding naiveté, like a radiant light so bright that blinds your sight completely, in this case blinding Killua's objective assessments of what happened hence creating a dilemma for Killua. Gon's insane optimism made Killua doubt himself. If Gon was light, Killua was its shadow. In the presence of hope, we cast aside our reasoning, and anything that makes us doubt ourselves, like a shadow, something that we can't see or pretend not to but it is inherently still there forever present underneath it all. I really think Killua represents the Jungian shadow, our doubts and most profound self-reflections that question the frugality of our own persona, all of things inside of us we refuse to see in order to move forward. And inversely, Gon is the personification of how madding and egotistical pure hopefulness can turn out to be in the end.
its tragic that after killua knows how many he killed and slaughtered, when he sees gon's almost lifeless body with all his skin destroyed, he is so shocked that he sees him like that, just imagine how much blood and things killua saw, and how tiny he can care for any other person he sees that just dies in front of him, but when he sees gon he just cant grasp the horror he got into
oygurd That scene made me cry... I had to pause and take a little walk because it was so emotional for me. Their friendship is the kind I want to have in my life, and in that moment, I felt like I was looking through Killua’s eyes at my best friend... that was tough.
I think thats kinda the point that the narrator of this video (Still a good video) missed. It wasn't the death or the damage that hurt Killua. Killua's heartbreak was him seeing Gon succumb. He didn't want Gon to experience the things he had to... The death, and violence, etc.. Thats why he wondered if they could be friends anymore. Killua didn't want to corrupt him. Gon brought Killua out of the bad place he was in so Killua felt indebted, but then can't even help at all at the end of the day.
9:07 THIS THIS THIS SO MANY people COMPLETELY miss this very obvious point. So many people struggle to understand and sympathize with Gon during his breakdown, because they simply can't fathom how he could go on a revenge crusade for a guy he "just met" or "barely knew". But you're totally missing the point if you feel that way. You have to understand that Gon has had a huge void his entire life, and basically his entire reason for existing and his entire life goal is to find his father. And now, he FINALLY finds not his father, but someone connected to his father in a deep way. A father-figure that he can attach himself to, and help fill that void. And just as quickly as he finds this father figure, it's ripped away from him brutally and horrifyingly. THIS is why Gon reacts the way he does, and I'm just baffled at how more people don't see this. Thank you for bringing this point up, because it is so vital in order to understand the key emotional drive of this entire arc.
Ryan THANK YOU. Also, just in general expecting Gon to react maturely and rationally even under extreme duress. He may be a professional Hunter, but He. Is. A. Child. He's not fully developed and he's in an extremely vulnerable stage of life. YES he is extremely capable, BUT he is a traumatized child! Yes Gon's morality is different and more ambiguous than most shounen protagonists, but those who vehemently disagree with his behavior and mental breakdown in the chimera ant arc just. They are unsympathetic and ignorant. Gon is a traumatized child, losing a father-figure he'd latched onto and fighting in an extremely dangerous and mentally taxing war. Can you really blame him for having a breakdown and acting the way he did? sorry if this didn't make any sense lmao
I wouldn't put too much importance on the father figure thing specifically. I would imagine that this would have been Gons reaction if it was Killua instead of Kite.
tompatompsson Well yes, but it would've been for different reasons. If it was Killua, it would've been because he lost a close friend he knew for a long time. But when it's someone like Kite, who he hasn't spent that much time with, the only reason it affected him that much is because of the father aspect.
Ryan, One reason so many fail to understand Gon's despair at the loss of Kite was Madhouse's decision to leave Kite out of episode 1. Instead, that experience is shown as a short flashback halfway thru the series, greatly diminishing its fundamental importance to Gon. I love the 2011 version, but both the 1999 version and the manga correctly introduce Kite right away, three years before the 2011 version begins.
This is probably the best analysis I've seen of Gon and Killua's friendship in this arc. I feel like a lot of people oversimply it as just "Gon was being a dickhead and said a mean thing and Killua was sad". There's a lot more going on here.
Fun fact that a lot of people don,t know is the Chimera Ant Arc started in 2003.....and ended in 2011 It took 8 years to finish this part of the story...... Was it worth the wait? I would like to think so Also it started on chapter 186 and ended in 319
When we started HxH together, my boyfriend LOVED the first two arcs. I was just chugging through. York New was when I started to get interested. Then I lost interest again during most of greed island but I was SOLD during the chimera ant arc. My boyfriend however hated the chimera ant arc. It’s so interesting how different people react to the different stories in HxH
@@juliopetry5712i think that’s kinda the whole point, idk like the theme of hxh is just enjoying the side journeys and how life moves on, gon and Killuas objective wasn’t really to be in York new to fight the spiders, it was to get a game, they were just put into the situation bc they wanted to help kurapika. The feeling of it being anticlimactic was bc immediately after we follow gon and killua off to get the game, when before during thr arc we were mostly following kurapika perspective. You see this a lot in the first arc, they got their hunter licenses there done, so they move on. I like how hxh doesn’t stay in one place for too long, they move along while not feeling like it completely brushes over stuff.
The part where Meruem wants to talk and settle things with Netero instead of fighting was so powerful. Goes to shows humanity is as much of a monster than the monsters themselves
Great video. The first part was especially moving. I do have one small objection though. Meruem and the ants never stood a chance. Netero went there because he wanted a fight against the strongest being on earth. Humanity's survival was never really into question though. The thematic point of the miniature rose is that it's one of the cheapest and most easily mass produced nuclear weapons on earth. What saves the day in the end is not the benevolent, enlightened human being with years of experience and inner strength. But a cheap bomb favored by the dictators of poor countries. Netero's final malicious smile indicates that he reconciles himself with that vile part of humanity. The very face of nirvana is proud to belong to the human race because, and not despite, its capacity for extreme acts of awfulness. He's proud that humans still remain at the top of the food chain. Because of cheap fucking bombs. Not zen mastery or any of the stuff he spent years perfecting. Keep up the good work man. And I still expect that World Trigger video!
It's funny, if meruem did take over the world be soon would have realised it wouldn't have mattered if the strongest ruled as science is a much more deadlier weapon
Partly true. Netero actually was pressured into going to fight the chimera ants. He did want to fight too, but he was also carrying the fate of Hunters and the Hunter association. In order to do so, hunters are called upon to deal with issues just like the chimera ant incident. Of course, with the threat of the ants, Netero needed to go. If it became known around the world that these ants existed, it would have created chaos. In the end, less than 1% of the world population knew about what happened in NGL. A big part of this is because NGL closed off from the world and so did East Gorteau. Plus, most of the population in East Gorteau was hypnotized and woke up to rubble. By then, the ants were destroyed. I could keep going, but that’s literally what makes Togashi such a genius.
York New is still my favorite arc, but Chimera Ant is also masterful. It's a kind of grand and complex arc that you so rarely get to see in any media outside of lengthy novels that are very easy to burn out on. And the fact that you can have an entire episode devoted to the first eleven seconds of a fight is something that I absolutely love.
@@thesnipingspider3852 no I think Hunter exam is bad, Zoldyck arc is bad, Heaven's Arena was okay, Yorknew was mid, Greed Island was okay and Chimera Arc was bad
I also hate how people always criticize Gon's selfishness when hes a kid very uninfluenced by whats good and bad. So as someone who is still growing and values family, can change so quickly. Killua and Gon really show how opposites attract
Martin Cordi I read FMA and watched FMA:B more than once. Both before AND after HxH, and I still stand by my statement. EDIT: And it's funny that you bring this particular one up as my best friend recently changed his n.1 favourite anime from FMA:B to HxH after watching the latter for the first time. Litteraly a day ago.
I enjoy both FMA and HXH. The reason why I think FMA is better than HXH is due the focused, shorter story. HXH is longer and has too many low pionts for me. I am glad to see you stand by your convictions though.
arenkai Togashi's got to get someone else to draw the series for him because it seems he's in bad condition. He should write the story out if he can and have somebody else draw the art because he needs rest.
The vreason HxH isn't as popular as Naruto is the same reason that it's far superior and the latter became trash chapter by chapter: weekly serialization. The difference between writing a chapter in a matter of a couple of days, then doing the drafts and illustrating in a matter of a week is the taxation on the mind. Any writer runs out of stamina quickly and then it decays into a trash story with poor development, fillers, deux ex machines and plot holes. That's Naruto after the first arch of Shippuden: it have some direction to go but the execution was lackluster and the latter archs were completly shit. One has to understand that most mangakas aren't proper writers. They usually have the creativity to imagine a whole world and fill them with characters, and illustrate with good draughsmanship and designs. The visual aspect is superb on most shonen/mangas; but it's the story that gets the less attention. There are very few mangakas that can conceive, develop and maintain a GREAT story with dialogues, pace, character development and internal systems that actually make sense and are coherent. But they ask for time. Togashi is among the few individuals that can imagine such things AND have the luxury to take any amount of times to develop it. He can take 1, 2 or even 3 years to produce a mere 10 chapters. But what a great 10 fucking chapters! Comparing such complex chapters that takes so much time with a chapter that took 7 days to produce its a discussion of quality over quantity. If you prefer fast food vs good home made with love food. Most shonen weebs can't even begin to comprehend why the anime tropes, left unchallenged, led without a fault to extagnation and decadence. That's what you see in most shonen, sadly. I would take manga that takes long hiatus but deliver consistent quality over any Naruto, Fairy Tail, Kitmetsu no Yaiba, Bleach hurried shit. One Piece is kinda special because it doesn't take itself so seriously and with good use of comedic tropes can mask some unoriginal tropes. Also the worldbuilding is amazing, althought formulaic.
@@Afreshio nah i say shippuden was still a pretty good shonen until atleast the war started. And even then it had highpoints like Madara, Kakashi vs Obito and Naruto vs Sasuke
Jorge Hurtado You’re making it seem like all the other creators in Shonen Jump CHOOSE to write and draw in a few days, no that’s not the case, they’re DEMANDED to make that chapter every week which is why stories like Naruto and Bleach suffered. Most of the great mangakas you’re referring to all take hiatus e.g Togashi, Inoue and Miura often regarded as some of the best mangakas for their craft are considered that because of the great quality and consistency of their stories and this is possible because they have the time to better plan they’re stories. Even some other mangakas switch from weekly to monthly like Araki and Yukimura. Not to discredit any one of them they’re all great mangakas but you cannot shit on Naruto Bleach and others just because they have a strict schedule that is physically and mentally taxing on these mangakas, and less planning time. Exception to One Piece because it still puts out great quality and consistency even after 20 years and that’s because Oda is a god lol jk GODA. But also if you look at Togashi he refused to continue writing his earlier YuYu Hakusho because of the tight schedule and suffered some health issues from it, the main reason why Hunter x Hunter is on constant hiatus. Also cliche or typical doesn’t necessarily mean bad it’s how writers choose to utilise those tropes.
Johnathan Walker I have seen someone arguing with someone on Twitter about how hxh is shit and there a lot of plot armor and plot holes. You have to be the biggest idiot to think hxh as plot armor
I'm crying again T T One of the greatest hxh analysis to date and I don't say that lightly. Naturally it's going in my favorites. Praise be to ToGODshi's name

Griffith: The Ultimate Evil I think among every genre of anime hunter x hunter still deserves a top spot I literally can’t see anything being as good as the chimera ant arc
it's the type of anime that you should watch when you have nothing to watch anymore. because when you finish it you're gonna try to find an anime that has the same impact as hxh does.
So true, I guess Griffith is kind of like that because of the thing he did but everyone views him as a hero and everyone views the main character, Guts, the villain
Except for that one *Kurapika is now drowning in an indescribeable emptiness* with the upbeat music (Hunting for your dream) playing over it, I think this was done better in the 1999 version (Hunter Exam + Yorknew). Still the OST is absolutely amazing on 2011
@@BeeruzChrysler I think my least favorite part about 99 Hisoka was the voice. It leaned too hard into his "creeper/child predator" side and not enough into his badass side. 2011 definitely helped that a lot.
My little sister told me that HunterxHunter is the best anime she has ever watched, and she's fricking 10. She has watched a lot of anime and I kept saying that HunterXHunter couldn't have been that good. Just finished watching it minutes ago and I have no idea how something can be better than this series. Really hope Togashi get's better.
Damn man. When I was 10 I was traumatized by Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark. I wouldn't have been able to handle Hunter x Hunter's Chimera Ant arc at that age.
@@tarambukis-c2q Wrong, many other anime overshadowed it. I can tell you this because even I thought it was a stupid looking shounen joke during that point in time, and judging by what I heard, many others did too. It's only just begun to come into the spotlight these days.
Yu Yu Hakusho is still fucking amazing regardless.. and Hunter X Hunter was just a hobby for Togashi, he wanted to write a manga where he could do whatever, experiment, deconstruct, go dark, go light, and just do what he wanted to do.. and it turned out so amazing.. the art in the manga has some seriously bad chapters, like if One from One Punch-Man drew them, but then other chapters it's so amazing and detailed.. he's selfish, but he's selfless at the same time, BEST mangaka by far

One scene that really impressed me was the woman begging for her life in front of meruem and all that he said was: „Why should I spare your life? Did you ever spare the life of a cow when it begged for its life?“ This showed that humans are not better than the ants. In fact every species superior to another will tragically act in the same way...
HxH is a masterpiece in my opinion because of three things. 1.Togashi showed us that the "main characters" he made revolves around the world he made (not the MC like most shonen). 2.Every character introduced could be the MC and it would still be interesting because everyone is fleshed out with their own motivations. 3. The power system (nen) is so perfect that you will never run out of ideas for an ability.
This anime is number one on my personal big three. Edit: Oh wow, what have I done? Anyway, my PERSONAL Big Three are Hunter X Hunter, JoJo's and My Hero Academia, in that order.
Salti • when it came out back in 1997 do you think it was a generic anime? No. Now it is because how people view it and hate it because of the fillers. Also because there’s other anime’s like it.
i watch HXH every night as i fall asleep.. i've seen the whole show about 6 times just in 2019 lol wish i could find something else but nothing compares
i tried watching FMAB.. seems cool but also seems like it puts you into the middle of a story that's already been going on. HXH starts at the very beginning.
That episode when gon pushed away his friendship with killua , was not only my favorite hxh episode , but easily my top 5 favorite episodes of any media entertainment.
Great video, I liked the part of Gon and Killua's friendship specifically. I think you brought out some very good points that I rarely see being analysed.
With all popular series (like naruto, one piece and bleach) there are always the 'fans' and the 'haters'. But with Hunter X Hunter, there are no haters. Absolute masterpiece
alfa01spotivo 4th War arc in naruto is around 200 chapters, Chimera ant is 128 chapters and Dressrosa is 102 chapters. The 4th war was definitely the longest by a huge margin lol
and the funny thing is this video only covers the chimera ant arc, and not the immense task it would have been to build up the story and characters to that point. The Phantom Troupe was phenomenal as well. They too are beautifully constructed villains. And the moment when Kurapika thought the Phatom Troupe was assassinated was soul-crushing. HxH is my favourite anime of all time, and I cry evey time I watch it. Finished my 6th run today. I feel so empty inside every time I finish watching it because I'm completely devastated that such an amazing, long journey has come to an end. And don't even talk about gon and killua separating... that is truly, oh that breaks me to think about. Actually, in my mind I think that Killua and Gon will rejoin in the future - or at least, Killua will still have arcs he is a main part of. I mean, I will be kind of very upset if he doesn't. He has been built up so beautifully as a character already. If I could have one wish, I would honestly just wish to be able to watch Hunter x Hunter for the first time again. Oh, what a beautiful journey it is... I think I watch HxH at least once each year... I don't think I'll stop til the day I die. No anime has ever been quite as impactful as Hxh. I really hope it gets finished... I've been refraining from reading the manga because I don't want to have to deal with the pain of waiting for chapters to be released.
I agree about the Phantom Troupe, I can't give favourites in this show but the Phantom Troupe are at the top of my respect, beautifully and intricately developed
I finished the anime today and I couldn’t stop crying. The themes and character development hit so damn hard, I just can’t believe someone not liking the Chimera arch. It’s THE arch. I legit couldn’t keep it together when they showed Meruem and Komugi’s hands in the final episode.
I recently finished HxH, I didn't enjoyed much chimera ant arc, because I didn't find any over the top fights and at first I thought what is going on, but as story moved forward to its conclusion I didn't wanted meruem to die, also youpi and pitou(pouf is a different case) because they had gone under a tremendous change I felt that meruem is becoming more like a nice human, I felt sad when he died may be that what's togashi wanted us all to feel and he succeeded greatly Museum became the protagonist of the chimera ant arc
I seem to never be able to pass up an opportunity to join HxH related discussions. You've brought up a point that really had me thinking ever since I finished the anime. Upon seeing Netero and Meruem's fight, I couldn't shake the feeling that...as the fight was going on Netero seemed more and more like the bad guy. Meruem was proposing cohabitation, admitting that humans have their own great qualities and deserve to live, meanwhile Netero just wanted to kill Meruem and that was it. I am glad you brought up Meruem's diplomacy as opposed to Netero's refusal to listen. It says a lot about Togashi's subtle analysis on human nature of destroying things we don't understand.
I gotta say, the recent fame hxh got drew some very annoying fans and some 'it's famous hence it's overrated' people. it's frusterating ngl. HXH is goat and some people dismiss it cuz of the fans 😑
Yeah it's just how humanity was faced with these impossible odds, yet through this massive adversity it was demonstrated that the Chimera Ants could NEVER even contemplate being as cruel and wicked as humans could potentially be, "A Poor Man's Rose", the bomb. Immensely poignant storytelling. The music, the visuals, the backstory, the finale all just masterfully done with the fight between Meruem and Netero. I was LITERALLY physically on the edge of my seat, that's never happened before with me in any other media.
Great Video Two inaccuracies mentionned in the video: 1. Kaito is actually Gon's childhood friend in the Manga. He was the one who told him about his father and taught him some basics when Gon was young in Whale Island. He is Gon's first and closest friend before Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio. Which is why he reacted so dramatically to what happened to him. the 2011 Anime Cut that story line for some stupid reason. 2. Netero didn't say anything about Gon and Killua losing their licenses. Just that they wont be part of the team if they are weak.
Before, I thought the Chimera Ant arc was very drawn out, but after watching this video I can say you’ve definitely changed my mind. I was focused more on the plot and story more than the character development, and I didn’t realize before that they’re tied together as the characters progress the plot does too🤷🏾♂️ you did a great job on this video👍🏾
It does my head in how some ppl can say hunter x hunter is trash. I understand it may not be your thing, but the absolute mastery of storytelling cannot be doubted.
The way you explain gon and killua friendship made me realize how such an innocent person can change in an instant and how friendships can and will end
My top 3 times i like in order in HxH, JoJo, and MHA. Its the ones I mostly like that is not that i don't like the other ones i watch, but these REALLY caught my interest, ya know?
Don't get me wrong,I'm glad that hxh is popular.however just the mere thought that people see it as your average anime just kills me. Like the average watcher just sees a fun series(which is good of course). But I rarely see or hear anyone talk about how well written it is
killua has amazing character depth. he's thoughtful, so we get to see what's really going on in his head, and that shows us how deep his way of thinking and decision-making is. he has a balance of logic and emotions - a balance of achievement, and logic. he's the division between deep-thinking, gentleness and devotion.
great analysis, my mom always said that hteres a difference between being smart and being wise, that being wise was knowing how to use your intelligence, meruem is really smart at the beggining but he is not wise, he has a childish view on things, the more he lives and learns the more he understands that strenght is not the only quality needed in a healthy society, meruems arc makes me think about the concept of power, the more he grew wise, the less he wanted power over other people, until the very end all he wanted was to live his life with someone he cared about, I think that is a very accurate way to look at things even in real life
One reason why HXH is a masterpiece is that togashi made it successfully connect and relate human Philosophy into manga with fantastic exciting and full of surprise. It is something created with wild imagination but you can relate in real life.
"Gon is able to acquire all of his potential nen, concentrated into this one moment" Finally someone explains what happened properly. Too many people always say that what gon did was turn into a form that equaled his end point.

Mental breakdown of knov is an underrated gem of a scene in the Chimera ant arc
Bruh, that episode where he's trying to infilitrate the castle stressed me the f out. It's the most tensing scene for me in the whole anime.

VERY astute observation, wow I never thought of that at all.

I never want a villian to live so bad. I wish he couldve live some how. Meruem was great. His humanity really showed at the end.

I’ve cried watching a lot of anime
But the one that stocked with me was meruem
The other anime’s use cheap tricks like background music and things like his father was dead or his brother was dead or something like that and it’s really boring
But meruem death was on a whole other level
You might really think if he was better than the human leaders
Meruem asking Komugi if she's still here and both of them dying together made me cry like nothing before.

Wow. So much truth in what you said.
That’s what I like about hxh
Each person can find lots of thoughts like these
despite his clear feelings for gon i think this was very well put and couldn't agree more!

Are you kiiding me I LITTARLY AGREED ITS SO GOOD I SWEAR 😟🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫
its tragic that after killua knows how many he killed and slaughtered, when he sees gon's almost lifeless body with all his skin destroyed, he is so shocked that he sees him like that, just imagine how much blood and things killua saw, and how tiny he can care for any other person he sees that just dies in front of him, but when he sees gon he just cant grasp the horror he got into
oygurd That scene made me cry... I had to pause and take a little walk because it was so emotional for me. Their friendship is the kind I want to have in my life, and in that moment, I felt like I was looking through Killua’s eyes at my best friend... that was tough.
Exactly
I think thats kinda the point that the narrator of this video (Still a good video) missed. It wasn't the death or the damage that hurt Killua. Killua's heartbreak was him seeing Gon succumb. He didn't want Gon to experience the things he had to... The death, and violence, etc.. Thats why he wondered if they could be friends anymore. Killua didn't want to corrupt him. Gon brought Killua out of the bad place he was in so Killua felt indebted, but then can't even help at all at the end of the day.
9:07 THIS THIS THIS
SO MANY people COMPLETELY miss this very obvious point.
Yea obviously but in my opinion Kite is less of a father to Gon and more of his inspiration, as in he was the one that made Gon want to be a hunter.

Thank you. And thanks for your take on the Rose, I think you've hit the nail right on the head with that.
And the fact that you can have an entire episode devoted to the first eleven seconds of a fight is something that I absolutely love.

arenkai Togashi's got to get someone else to draw the series for him because it seems he's in bad condition. He should write the story out if he can and have somebody else draw the art because he needs rest.
Like "Death Note"
hxh is a masterpiece for me, I can't believe it didn't as popular as naruto ,
Hiatus power
@@alfa01spotivo pain arc is the peak of naruto when the battle still use strategy to win and talk no jutsu still make sense.
Also cliche or typical doesn’t necessarily mean bad it’s how writers choose to utilise those tropes.

all what protagonists can do in this manga is : run away from enemies or be kicked by them , pitiful o.0 ; hunter x hunter is an manga about fights , but : 90% are made of dialogues like in a fucking talk show or a soap opera , 5% made of cowardly escapes of protagonists from their opponents , 3% is made of protagonists that are humiliated by their opponents , the last 2% is made of poor and really labored victories , that always cost the dignity or the health of the winner , seriously , this mangaanime only deserve to stop and be forgotten ; one more thing : after almost one year of pause ,this mangaka still have the disrespectful damn effrontery to do nothing but palm off the usual slew of dialogues ; the biggest humiliation suffered by that handicapped weak of gon , the decisive attack that allowed hisoka to win against him , hisoka said to gon something like: " look to the right " , and what gon decided to do ?? but of course he listened to hisoka , after all he is an opponent , so the most logic thing to do can only be to listen to him -.- , here is the moronic reasoning provided by the rotten brain of gon, something like : " hisoka is my enemy , so if he order me to do something , i have of course to...DO AS HE SAY , because naturally , listen to the order of my enemy is the most logic thing to do ,i mean is obvious , since he is my enemy , then if he tell me to do something , it can only be for my sake , so i absolutely have to listen to him " ; the protagonists and co-protagonists, including main enemies ,physically look like a bunch of side characters , they look pretty anonymous and sloppy -.- , ESPECIALLY gon -.- ; hisoka's standards : a loser that can't decently win a fight even when use all his strength and chose a fishing rod as weapon and a coward that can't be strong if not by stealing the power of other people , wow -.- ; the only occasion when leorio did something different than talk and run away , was during the meeting with the father of gon , and naturally , the only reason why he was able to punch him , is because ging , wasn't read for that hysteric reaction -.- ; but please , if some of you think that i am wrong , then show me all the enormous amount of fights , and i mean proper fights , because , the situation were someone become nuts and confuse himself for a Punching Bag ( gon ) , can't really be considered a fight ( but still , i can't blame him , every time he try to win a battle , he only get humiliations , or even worse , lose a part of his body , seriously , not even that transformation was enough to grant him a proper victory -.- ) ; is a manga that encourage : ingenuity( the protagonist is naive ), cowardice ( every single character in this manga\anime is coward, especially chrollo that can be strong only by stealing other's powers , with the exception of some people that fight alone ,but can barely win , or have to kill themselves , like netero , to think that he was the president of the hunters , really pitiful that he need to kill himself , and only weaklings need to kill themselfs to win a battle ) , mediocrity( gon is the protagonist but is not omnipotent , not even close ), weakness ( gon is bloody weak , all those trainings for what ?? ... FOR A LOST LIMB ) , so in the very end , this manga teach people that be a mediocre coward weakling low life loser idiot good-for-nothing-all show no substance is a good thing

beside that, great video
bobby31723 could be its own separate video honestly.
One scene that really impressed me was the woman begging for her life in front of meruem and all that he said was: „Why should I spare your life? Did you ever spare the life of a cow when it begged for its life?“
This showed that humans are not better than the ants. In fact every species superior to another will tragically act in the same way...
Yea. This scene is so deep.
I thought this scene was obvious. Although, doesn't change how good it is
Could you recall this scene from which episode? I would like to rewatch it again
What's your big three? (please tell me that one of them is not naruto)
Salti • naruto is good
@@vaprghost9756 I'm tired of generic shounen
@@gaukharkashaganova2014 you liking it doesn't excuse the flaws though, the characters in naruto are far from getting close to the characters in HxH
FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Attack on Titan, Parasyte: The Maxim, ect are all way better than Hunter x Hunter
@@KLANGS way better? What are you smoking? Fmab is debatable rest are nowhere near hxh
i tried watching FMAB.. seems cool but also seems like it puts you into the middle of a story that's already been going on. HXH starts at the very beginning.
@@mikeb6410 try it again its worth it.
@@KLANGS fmab is more consistent than hxh, but the high points of hxh are much, MUCH higher than fmab imo
Just finished rewatching this arc right now and I'm fucking bawling my eyes out I came here because I feel so empty and I'm trying not to cry
I absolutely love how you tell the story of my favourite anime, you're the best.
Wow, thank you!
i ship the meruem and komugi forever. thats a real otp
ok
It never ceases to blow my mind. No anime is thus closer to my heart, honestly. It’s art, at this point.
That episode when gon pushed away his friendship with killua , was not only my favorite hxh episode , but easily my top 5 favorite episodes of any media entertainment.
This was the only series I watched completely blindfolded and I'm absolutely satisfied with it
Same
Great video, I liked the part of Gon and Killua's friendship specifically. I think you brought out some very good points that I rarely see being analysed.
apart from the actual story, the OST is a masterpiece too. i listen to all the insturmentals on a daily
The story is soo well made that you never get bored a single chapter. It just develops better and better every chapter that the anime never let you go
With all popular series (like naruto, one piece and bleach) there are always the 'fans' and the 'haters'. But with Hunter X Hunter, there are no haters. Absolute masterpiece
I'm a hater

Greatest Shonen Arc Ever Made
Absolut Veidt also the longest
Sados59 Maxi dude ofc I have why do U think I have itachi as my pfp? I love naruto. But i like hunter x hunter better then it tbh
Sados59 Maxi and when I said “the longest arc” I was talking about the chimera ant arc because it took togashi 7 years to write and finish the arc
@@vliizy Its either this, Fourth Great Shinobi War or Dressrosa thats the longest
alfa01spotivo 4th War arc in naruto is around 200 chapters, Chimera ant is 128 chapters and Dressrosa is 102 chapters. The 4th war was definitely the longest by a huge margin lol
I just finished the anime and now I’m gonna read the remaining manga chapters. HXH IS A MASTERPIECE!!
The Reason why HXH is a masterpiece is that because HxH is very detailed anime/manga
I didnt't notice all that, but i like how you said that gon sees kite as a father figure
you forgot about pouf and the royal guards and how they slowly become human through there ideals.
and the funny thing is this video only covers the chimera ant arc, and not the immense task it would have been to build up the story and characters to that point.
Ty togashi for giving me my drip form like and you will get drip
I’ve never clicked on a video so fast
I just finished the 2011 anime and I've needed time to process my feelings. Thank you so much for this :(
*me reading the title*
I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW
I finished the anime today and I couldn’t stop crying.
Your BGM choice made me cry 20 times, I just finished this anime like 2 weeks ago and man I'm still in the HxH brainrot phase
One of the best stories of all time in any media. Period.
Sees title*
Me: I know, I know
dam i wasn't expecting to cry on the killua and gon part :(
I gotta say, the recent fame hxh got drew some very annoying fans and some 'it's famous hence it's overrated' people. it's frusterating ngl.
HXH is goat and some people dismiss it cuz of the fans 😑
Watching this while hearing the ost of hxh in the background made me commit emotional-
I think I've watched this video 7 times
This is what a call, a perfect anime video
THE LAST SCENE OMG I DONT WANNA CRY AGAIN NOOOO
People who hate Chimera Ant don’t understand the concept and story of it
The kite Revival and Nanikas appearance could have been lightly foreshadowed, but i love Everything Else.
Wow. That point you make about Kite being a father figure to Gon was so good. You worded it perfectly. Great job man
people who has not finished hxh does not get to say trash about hxh.
Spoiler. Only bad bit in the whole arc is pouf and youpi feeding themselves to the king and their reactions were just too much.
I kind of agree, the mini royal guards were a bit much but everything apart from them and pacing issues was golden.
Hhhhhhhhhhh what about the granny that turns into bike or air fucking plan... One of my friends stopped watching hxh because of this shit
Douglas Perry and dont fotget that kite has become a god damn girl ant
That part where it's just Morel and Knov running around the city for three episode was pretty shitty too.
Douglas Perry its pretty hilarious though.
The Netero story arc absolutely changed my life.
Literally same here, he’s just cathartic in every way. Fantastic character from start to finish.
Dammit gotta rewatch/read it again XD
Yeah it's just how humanity was faced with these impossible odds, yet through this massive adversity it was demonstrated that the Chimera Ants could NEVER even contemplate being as cruel and wicked as humans could potentially be, "A Poor Man's Rose", the bomb. Immensely poignant storytelling. The music, the visuals, the backstory, the finale all just masterfully done with the fight between Meruem and Netero. I was LITERALLY physically on the edge of my seat, that's never happened before with me in any other media.
Great Video
Two inaccuracies mentionned in the video:
Now break down the Octopus guy's story in this arch.
I was a db fan and my friend was a naruto fan, but now
We both are hunterxhunter fan
My top 3 times i like in order in HxH, JoJo, and MHA. Its the ones I mostly like that is not that i don't like the other ones i watch, but these REALLY caught my interest, ya know?

Don't get me wrong,I'm glad that hxh is popular.however just the mere thought that people see it as your average anime just kills me.
Like the average watcher just sees a fun series(which is good of course).
But I rarely see or hear anyone talk about how well written it is
Most people don't look for good writing but more supzrficial flashy fights in shonens
@@perfectingminds7139 😕
It's the opposite for me.
@@perfectingminds7139 Wrong
Good video but I wish it wasn’t so Chimera Ant arc focused since the title had me thinking otherwise
Still my favourite anime, I remember the day I watched it. 17th of April 2020
killua has amazing character depth. he's thoughtful, so we get to see what's really going on in his head, and that shows us how deep his way of thinking and decision-making is. he has a balance of logic and emotions - a balance of achievement, and logic. he's the division between deep-thinking, gentleness and devotion.
Hunter x Hunter has ruined anime for me. Such quality is hard to find in Shonen anime
Yeah lol I basically started hating every anime that I’ve watched before and after for not giving me the same feeling after watching hxh
Try Attack on Titan,Death Note,Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood,Jojo or Samurai Champloo
great analysis, my mom always said that hteres a difference between being smart and being wise, that being wise was knowing how to use your intelligence, meruem is really smart at the beggining but he is not wise, he has a childish view on things, the more he lives and learns the more he understands that strenght is not the only quality needed in a healthy society, meruems arc makes me think about the concept of power, the more he grew wise, the less he wanted power over other people, until the very end all he wanted was to live his life with someone he cared about, I think that is a very accurate way to look at things even in real life
Ahh yes me watching 25 mins worth of someone admiring my favorite anime
Finally a video on HxH as good as Tales Of Nerdia's and Aleczander's
One reason why HXH is a masterpiece is that togashi made it successfully connect and relate human Philosophy into manga with fantastic exciting and full of surprise. It is something created with wild imagination but you can relate in real life.
John Fredluck You should watch Parasyte: The Maxim, and read Berserk
"Gon is able to acquire all of his potential nen, concentrated into this one moment"
Finally someone explains what happened properly. Too many people always say that what gon did was turn into a form that equaled his end point.
That’s what I’m saying
I sobbed when meeuem died
