It's really refreshing to see someone with so much passion and such a strong grasp on the elements of storytelling give manga like Hunter X Hunter and others the treatment they deserve. Thanks for making content like this.
@Yggdraseed the man is a incredibly great guy.@R7dman is creator that inspires. He and the bleachtube creator gave me the push to have my own....I have abunch of scripts planned...but this person is a Keeper
hxh is one of the best stories ever because of its themes but what catches your eyes early on is its immersive world building from geographical social political economical and psychological aspects.. you get vast forests big cities and their undergrounds and natural dangers human or unhuman dystopian wastelands concrete jungles urban mazes artistocratic circles impovrished ghettos.ect . its a large playground for adventure not only in size but also in depth and it feels really alive and full of possibilities. and the story really matches this level utilizing everything to create tension and mystery and progress the main characters stories..who are well fleshed and given screen time.. its starts off with gon an average dumb overpowered teen who slowly loses his innocence while confronting the hard reality the world.. and it contrast with killua who is more of lonely more mature teen rebel trying to find some of his lost innocence and a new identity .. theres another contrast with leorio and kurapika one living for the futue while the other for the past..the villains are charismatic feel human without needing to be redeemable. and the majority of the cast are in a moraly grey area.. the magic system is one of the best ever its more grounded in reality than most grand aventure stories ..its also complex in a good way and mixes the violence and stategy and psychological and mental aspect of characters and fights.. the abilities themselves dont depend that much on power scaling and are more like tools with their advantages and drawbacks that characterize and define their user and affect the situation in a good of bad way depending when and where they are being used.. ofc the main characters are powerful but you still feel the sense of scale and vunurability and stakes..as fights are tricky and not always fair and there are many ways of getting around abilities..the plot is great while following the mysterious father of gon everythings branches to many intresting plots and subplots and themes..the progression is very slow yet fun and it gives the sense of a living breathing tangible world ..plus the mysteries are tough to crack which helps the immersion and it trust the readers by leaving unknown factors allowing you to pieces together what happended and letting your imagination to fill the blanks...but even 400 chapters it feels we are not even halfway through..which is great but it also means we are never seeing the end of the story.hxh 1999 visuals and music captures the aestheics and atmosphere perfectly while 2011 fails to do so
Very well thought out analysis. It really highlights why gon is my favorite shonen protagonist of all time. Though very nuanced, he is not a deconstruction of shonen. Because he IS shonen
HXH is such a great work of art. Thank you for keeping it relevant. I hope Togashi knows he's loved for his work in the industry even if he never finishes the story.
HxH is one of the greatest stories in literature. What this man did with the Chimera Ant arc specifically, is genre defining. I can only hope to see more of this world from the man himself. But as it is, I'm grateful to have witnessed it
One thing about kon he found someone to take good care of hime Saving him from a dark future gon in the other hand laked the mentor in ca arc who could helped him find peace and overcome his grief and sadness
Happy anniversary to my favourite series! Nice video! I think sometimes you read a little too much, especially when you said Togashi had everything planned from the beginning. Togashi himself stated that he only planned about three chapters and a rough idea for Gon to fail the exam, but I can agree about Togashi thinking about potential outcomes for his characters' personalities. I howewer think, based on his latest interview, that he prefers not to know too much of his own story in advance, as to enjoy writing it as much as possible
Thank you! In hindsight I do think I could've better worded those things because I don't mean to say Togashi had every fine detail mapped out as he drew Chapter 1, as like you said, his creative process is very transformative and he's opened up about changing his mind on several occasions. That being said, I do think he had vague ideas of where these ideas will go & at the very least, he retroactively incorporated earlier material into his later ideas. Togashi is definitely more of a 'gardener' writer (GRRM quote) and he's such an effective gardenener precisely because he can make things feel wholly deliberate & natural, by taking full advantage of what he has already written.
Thumbnail is fire, don't see much use of the color green like this. Usually it's a lot of red and yellow and white. Found the thumbnail enticing to click on
Lmao, Kite kills the fox bear mother because it was about to kill Gon (a random kid in his mind at the time) and taught him that he should’ve known better because this beast has a territory mark that you shouldn’t cross or else it’ll be death situation.
Probably it's a complete coincidence, but the biggest drawable angle is 359°. When you go to 360° it's identical to a 0° angle and we have to add special signifiers to dinguish them. Hunterxhunter came literally full circle.
Hunter x hunter is probably one of the few animes that leaves a clear intended interpretation for the audience, but most of the audience interprets it in a completely different way. Gons and gings dynamic for example. I'm pretty sure 80% of the audience actually thinks that gon really cares or loves ging Or netero for example. Like 98% of the audience thinks he's some goody goody altruistic guy while in actuality he's probably more twisted then actual villains we've seen. And these examples are just to name a few It's really interesting how hxh is so trope subversive and original that most of the audience struggles to adapt their brain to it
Nah, the greatest start of any manga/manhwa still belongs to Attack on Titan when it comes to purposeful foreshadowing for future events. HxH's first chapter needs a certain amount of headcanon for it to be connected to its future "parallel" chapters but AoT was very intentional with its title "To You, 2000 Years From Now" and subtle details like Eren being an adamant freedom-seeker and Grisha being mysteriously involved. I freaking hate how AoT handled its final arc and how dogsht the ending is but I wont deny the greatness and how impactful its first chapter was in its own story.
This show/story is pretty lame and overrated.. it really has so many poor aspects , horrible pace and failed at time/impact test I would never rewatch it and don't memorize much Love your bleach content :)

INSANE!!!
I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!
Can't believe it has been 26 years!
Very well thought out analysis. It really highlights why gon is my favorite shonen protagonist of all time. Though very nuanced, he is not a deconstruction of shonen. Because he IS shonen
This is why Hunter X Hunter is my favorite anime of all time.
When i watched this in early 2000's it felt like an open mmorpg game to me.
big up Radman for non stop bangers
Glad you appreciate them!
HXH is such a great work of art. Thank you for keeping it relevant. I hope Togashi knows he's loved for his work in the industry even if he never finishes the story.

Always a treat to watch a HxH video from you. I like to think of everything past the anime ending as a nice bonus.

Happy 26th years to all my fellow nen users and massive thanks to Togashi for everything also really great video
Hiatus x Hiatus is one of my favourite series of all time
Unreal video mate. Took me back
HxH has 4-6 characters I would consider the MC. Both Gon, Killua shared that role in “part 1” and “part 2” is Kurapika, and second MC is yet tbd
thank u nf
thank u whiskeyjack

@@Dudex11a LOL thank you!
I love this story so much
One of the best if not the Best written shonen. It’s so beautiful, never seen a manga like this.
Nice video. You were right that Kite did touch Pitou's En, but it's not directly clarified that he did until 259.
Gon is one of the best characters ever
Hunter x Hunter day is a good day🐣such an amazing story I really want to go through it again some day.
What a great video
About time you put some respect on peak
That's all I do fella
been over a year, usopp@@R7dman
i’m caught up with the manga so i should be able to watch the video
Youre most likely the best UA-camr for HunterxHunter
Thumbnail is fire, don't see much use of the color green like this. Usually it's a lot of red and yellow and white. Found the thumbnail enticing to click on
☕
GOAT!
Gon is such a goat
No way you made this that fast😂
It wasn't fun 😂

Have not read the the manga but I hope the anime stays as is, it's great as is and not worth the gamble continuing it just to tarnish an amazing anime
I'm thinking a gintama video is due
4:20 Better than both
Hi I have a question, do you know all the music you use in this video?
Except Kite wasn't a parental figure. Dude was barely there. 😂😂

Ch 1 connects to Ch 138 too. Also ending ain't dogshit but sure your opinion.
You were so close to cooking before that last sentence ruined it
You see how no one liked it
