Thank you so much.

Your welcome!
Very nice
I’m curious to hear your opinion on engraving certain leathers. We’re told not to engrave chrome tanned leathers. You mention you prefer Mexico leather. Is that veg tanned? Thanks for your videos.
I only put veg tan leather in my laser. Laser cutting chrome tan will/can release Chromium fumes. I would suggest doing your own research but from what I’ve read the chromium used today is not toxic when engraved or cut. I personally would not risk it which is why I only use veg tan in my work.
@@NorfolkHandmade thanks for the reply! I read the same thing, but wanted to collectively hear what other people did. It's hard to track where the leather comes from and especially the process (since I hear even some vegan leathers have some chromium processes depending on the company), so better safe than sorry, I've only had my laser outside despite having an enclosure. May consider a fume extractor. Appreciate the reply and the videos!!! Thanks!
The enclosure on my xTool comes with a fan and hose to vent outside. It works really well, there is no smell at all in my studio. The only slight modification I made to the enclosure was propping the lid open slightly to allow for cross ventilation.
how do you sharpen that tiny little beveler? haha
edit: also what is that stamp? Saw a guy who used the same stamp to make a sheath and it turned out cool
So sharpen the edge beveler I use a piece of thick thread with hiking compound on it. If you look back through my shorts videos you will find it.
Everything here is done on the laser, the pattern and my logo is all engraved.
Thanks for watching!
@@NorfolkHandmade compound on a string!!! you are genius, haha. Thankfully I have a couple bricks of dialux hanging around, that is something I would not have thought of, I was imagining a tiny strip of leather on a splinter of wood or something.
That is a nice pattern and sorry I tend to skip watch some content but I should've payed more attention, afterall the whole video was about your laser. I hope that machine pays itself off for you.
I can’t take credit for the string idea; I heard about it years ago and don’t remember where.
No one watches all the way through….lol
Thanks for watching!
@@NorfolkHandmade sometimes I do, usually I jump or seek to places I'm learning new information. The "most viewed" feature they added to yt videos is probably pretty bad though, it encourages too much skipping.
Oh ya, that feature is interesting because your right, it encourages viewers to skip right to that section and move on…lol
I don’t really like engraving on leather. Probably it’s might be professional deformation, I’m working with laser equipment for last 5 years. And I never did anything on my own wallets, because did on clients and I don’t like the way how it looks after time
ForI sure. Before getting the laser I also wasn’t a big fan. It grew on me over time and I now really like what it can add to the wallet. I haven’t had enough time with it to see how the wallet will patina over time. Thanks for watching and your thoughts. 🙏🏻
@@NorfolkHandmade it looks okay on bright colors, like yellow, light blue, cognac etc. But still, after time engraving losing it's color
I haven’t tried light colours yet…we’ll see how it goes.
