just wanted to comment this band. Saw them live as the opener for unprocessed in Frankfurt a week ago. They were insane, never heard of them before and now i listen to them daily
What i love about watching your weekly TRT videos, is how unbelievably relatable your process is. "One more..." "... one more..." "Okay, one more" "Okay, last one" Litterally sent me back to my bedroom studio in 2014 just slamming 1 sections for hours on end!
I saved this video to listen to while I work today and I’m so happy I did 😭 these past videos go so hard. I like writing this type of deathcore so hearing your take on it is so sick. I haven’t recorded vocals professionally yet but I’d love to give this a shot!
Love it you’re adding on to the deathcore riff from last week! My favorite episodes yet and you must’ve listened to the new Thy Art Is Murder track for this one 😂 The newest Shadow Of Intent song…Flying the Blag Flag is amazing! Makes Lorna Shore sound like Lil Shore 😂
Been listening to a lot of Cane Hill since they dropped their recent album. As for the riff, it sounds so good! Loving how it's turning out. As for vocalists, you can't go wrong with Sean Harmanis, Will Ramos, Alex Terrible, or I'd even venture to toss in some names like Randy Blythe even. Keep up the awesome work and hopefully it does become a full song.
Dang. Plain awesome. I love watching TRT, it motivates me so much to take the guitar and try to build songs even though I suck at it. But much like you do it's a process you have to force a little bit sometimes. Thanks for your work Nick
ive been listening to the Make Them Suffer album, ik a lot of them are singles they've already released, but they are absolute bangers. They are so unique
Another great song you could continue working on would be HEDWIGS THEME NICK!!!! I come back every week regardless but I am still patiently waiting that continuation lmao
Nick Broomhall- listen to Embodyment, embrace the eternal album- Embrace. The whole song is awesome but if you want to get to the grit listen at 1:46 seconds. The drop with the bass is so tasty. This song is perfect. I was privileged enough to see this live when I was 13 in an underground club in Dallas. Drummer is amazing!
THIS SOUNDS SOOO GOOD! Joe Bad would obviously be my dream vocalist for this song, it just fits (for an autopsy..) But would love to give it a shot my self if you release a instrumental version when it’s finished 🔥
Lately I haven't even been listening to metal that much beside Rivers of Nihil and Johnny Booth, I've been really digging Louis Cole's newest album Nothing. Super fun drumming, groovy bass and orchestral goodness...highly recommend. Really appreciate this series Nick. Always gives me inspiration for a riff when I'm stuck in a creative drought. As for vocalists on this track, Aleksandra Djelmas from Destiny Potato/Sordid Pink would be sick. She has some great screams for the verses but I feel like her cleans would elevate that chorus riff even higher. Joe Bad is the obvious pick, though, especially with the FFAA inspiration
For straight up deathcore in the vein of the old-school stuff, I've been absolutely addicted to Psycho-Frame. Dragging Nazarene might be my favorite. The 'A Biblical Worship of Violence' EP by Teeth also goes crazy.
better lovers and their most recent album... they're super good, i've been needing a new band that sounds like them for a while!! also, jamie from polaris to me sounds like a great fit for this song... especially for that chorus. the part with the alternating guitars also sounds a bit like a rian siew lick (rest in peace)
Misery Signals, The Contortionist, Van Halen, The Eyes of a Traitor have all been played a lot lately. After The Burial, Whitechapel, Born of Osiris, Killswitch Engage, Death are regulars too along with The Cure and Coheed
New things I’ve been listening to- Starfire (Album) and Blood Host (Single) - DARKO US …and she was beautiful - Before I Turn A Work of Art - ICE NINE KILLS Everything Disembodied Tyrant has put out.
Darius Tehrani of Spite would sound absolutely unhinged over this and im 100000% here for it if you can make it happen
I think it sounds better as instrumental track but darius is awesome, love spite
Yes! I want more of "Continuing this song" episodes.
Thick Riff Thursday is my favorite holiday that happens once a week. lol
I think the vocalist of animals as leaders would be a good pick for this song
Plini's vocalist also can be a good choice!
I hear liquid tension experiment's vocalist is pretty good too.
K, now I reaaally wanna hear Arch Echo's vocalist on this
How about some Intervals vocals?
@@gergoretvari6373a voice within did go hard though
Counterparts EP dropped today… so good
I opened another tab and started playing this so fast, thanks for the heads up
Gotta love counterparts
@ have to lol
I was listening to this walking to work just grinning like an idiot. It's so frickin fire dude
This rips. I definitely agree with some that it's End-adjacent, but totally fire.
Allt's new album is dope
Love it bro... So good...
Epheremal - Allt. Best riff ive heard all year honestly
Baaaaaaanger
My favorite album all year
Rather generic imo, everything wrong with modern metal and every cliché is found there
@@ProgSchmockI can see for the rest of the album but i really love the guitars on epheremal
If you like that new album give the new 156/silence album a go
New band called Avralize, their album FREAKS is my favorite of the year! It's so melodic and fun and heavy. Incredible freaking production as well!
just wanted to comment this band. Saw them live as the opener for unprocessed in Frankfurt a week ago. They were insane, never heard of them before and now i listen to them daily
I was gonna comment this band too, finally seeing them get the love they deserve. FREAKS is so good!
Broooooo when you hit that bass slide I found myself celebrating it just as you did! Bloody mad bastard well done!
sitting down and watching a thick riff thursday is just the highlight of a week
Nick we need a "how to write likeThe Zenith Passage" video!
That would be cool
You absolutely need to make this a full song and purchasable!!!!! I need to hear this everyday!!!
Austin Dickey would go H O O R D on this 😤
*shreds out of his mind off the cuff*
"I don't practice guitar"
You simultaneously inspire the fuck outta me and make me wanna quit 😂😂
Also Spencer from Periphery would murder on this.
That bass slide takes that little break down to the next level!
I’d say Joe from Fit For An Autopsy would be a perfect fit for this.
The new Foxing album is album of the year so far. Absolutely phenomenal.
The new cane hill album is crazy. And the band unpeople is sick
What i love about watching your weekly TRT videos, is how unbelievably relatable your process is.
"One more..."
"... one more..."
"Okay, one more"
"Okay, last one"
Litterally sent me back to my bedroom studio in 2014 just slamming 1 sections for hours on end!
Got to say that pinch harmonic made me laugh with pure satisfaction.
Dude this is right up CJ McMahon’s alley
YES! I’ve been dying to hear him on some new stuff.
As soon as you added the lead it reminded me of blood eagle. So now I want Spencer sotello on vocals.
I saved this video to listen to while I work today and I’m so happy I did 😭 these past videos go so hard. I like writing this type of deathcore so hearing your take on it is so sick. I haven’t recorded vocals professionally yet but I’d love to give this a shot!
Make them suffer‘s new album is sick, i love their major chord progressions, would love to see something like that on thick riff thursday
Everything you touch turns into gold
Love it you’re adding on to the deathcore riff from last week! My favorite episodes yet and you must’ve listened to the new Thy Art Is Murder track for this one 😂
The newest Shadow Of Intent song…Flying the Blag Flag is amazing! Makes Lorna Shore sound like Lil Shore 😂
GYAT DAMN that is THICCC
You talked about in your last video how heavy metal makes you smile, but well “pulled off/placed” pinched harmonics make me smile hahaha
man i’m not gunna lie the bass slide sent me to a different dimension
The new counterparts EP they dropped a few days ago absolutely rips. I could see you really digging it.
Sick!!!!!!!
Made me scream and think of vocals instantly 🎈🎈
Been listening to a lot of Cane Hill since they dropped their recent album. As for the riff, it sounds so good! Loving how it's turning out. always a great time when you upload. Also I gotta say one of my all time favorite bands atm would be Wyrmhaven
Nice addition, these can come about on either side of the original. Always record yourself, often I lost great originals to forgetting them. :)
sounds like it could be a born of Osiris song this is so good nick
ive been listening to the Make Them Suffer album, ik a lot of them are singles they've already released, but they are absolute bangers. They are so unique
I would see Matt Mcdougal from boundaries on this
100% Phil from white chapel.
Spencer from Periphery on vocals ofc!
my first thought too, i could literally hear him in my head over this :D
I was randomly thinking this, imagine him singing a cool ass melody for the heavy ass chorus, it would go so hard.
My 1st thought too. It just screams spencer
Hell nooooo
@@Amanet13 shhhh we the people have spoken
This riff gives heavy Acacia Strain vibes so Vincent Bennett would go crazy
Another great song you could continue working on would be HEDWIGS THEME NICK!!!! I come back every week regardless but I am still patiently waiting that continuation lmao
Dayum!!! That shit kicks ass!!!! In my opinon the vocal style of Phil Boseman would fit this perfectly!
It’s giving through the eyes of the dead vibes and I love it lol
Can’t believe we’re only like a month and a half away from getting a new hedwigs theme video
holy moly dude! you've to do a full song!
Rabea Massaad's new band VOWER's EP is sick and I'm so stoked for more
This gives me major Bleed From Within vibes!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Such a blast of an episode!
Bite Down is killing it right now.
THIS SOUNDS SOOO GOOD!
Joe Bad would obviously be my dream vocalist for this song, it just fits (for an autopsy..)
But would love to give it a shot my self if you release a instrumental version when it’s finished 🔥
That two step part goes hard.
heriot's new album is fucking RIDICULOUS, absolutely insane stuff from those guys
She has some great screams for the verses but I feel like her cleans would elevate that chorus riff even higher. Joe Bad is the obvious pick, though, especially with the FFAA inspiration
Now this is one thicc boi of a riff
The new Counterparts EP is CRAZY heavy
Crazy 🔥
that riff would slap so hard going 4 on the floor after the blast/fast section
Yooo this is so sick! Would love to put some vocals on this 👏
Siiiick Riff dude! Lost by Beyond Confidence found them recently on UA-cam also sick Breakdowns :D
Band: wheel, I would start with vultures or where the pieces lie. Incredible band
rediscovered toxicity recently and its been such a jam
I’m currently trying to find my 1/4in cables in the 20000000 moving boxes we have. So I’m repeating this cuz that riff slaps 😂
So fucking sick
The new cane hill album is insane.
Also the latest 156/Silence release really surprised me. Lots of bangers on there.
Dude I’ve been listening to an old 80s band called King Kobra, love it
My favorite time of the week arrived again
Galleons - kiss the sky, and Delorean. Amazing jams
Great video. I've been revisiting Nothing More. Some real bangers!
those splash accents in the chorus are ridiculoussssss
Bottom shelf - choke, gone by the weekend. Local band making great stuff
That chorus riff is insane
Your videos using your Spector made me choose EuroBass over DjinnBass haha. I don't regret it, Spectors just sound so fulll
Give 'Cut Short' a listen man! Underground from Liverpool, UK. Massive fan of your channel!
Stand Abandoned's new EP "The Divide"
For straight up deathcore in the vein of the old-school stuff, I've been absolutely addicted to Psycho-Frame. Dragging Nazarene might be my favorite. The 'A Biblical Worship of Violence' EP by Teeth also goes crazy.
better lovers and their most recent album... they're super good, i've been needing a new band that sounds like them for a while!!
also, jamie from polaris to me sounds like a great fit for this song... especially for that chorus. the part with the alternating guitars also sounds a bit like a rian siew lick (rest in peace)
Andy would crush this one
Bloodywood dropped a new single and album announcement the other week, killer track, killer band
Better Lovers. It's the guys from Every Time I Die with Greg Puciato on the vocals. It sounds pretty much like you'd expect and it's fantastic
So sick Nick🔥🔥🔥
Awesome riffssss man!! I think you should get Joe Bad for vocals if you can, that would be so sick! 👌
Do you recommend the Kickblock? My left pedal is always sliding all over the place
DUDE... Chat Pile's new record is so effin' sick.
I've been listening to neckbreakker, saw them this summer and man what a show. Their first album will be release soon!
I was literally about to comment that the second riff needs to be the chorus before you said it. Also I will do the vocals, thank you.
Matt McDougal from Boundaries or Brendan Murphy from Counterparts?? Brian Wille from Currents?
The new Tigran Hamasyan album, The Bird of a Thousand Voices, is pretty good.
Your 'chorus' riff is so sick. Just need a filthy breakdown to close this thing out and youve got a banger.
This episode is great. def need more “continue the song” episodes. Also My underground band BlutMane put out our ep!
You have GOT to get Phil Bozeman (Whitechapel) on this
Been listening to changing tides' new release non stop
Getting some vogg/decapitated vibes on that solo bruv.🤘
Misery Signals, The Contortionist, Van Halen, The Eyes of a Traitor have all been played a lot lately. After The Burial, Whitechapel, Born of Osiris, Killswitch Engage, Death are regulars too along with The Cure and Coheed
Dream vocalist. This track is screaming for spencer.
So sick! For the vocalist my first thought was Jamie Graham, Heart of a Coward ex-vocalist
I've been vibing hard with Polaris. Specifically, their second album.
New things I’ve been listening to-
Starfire (Album) and Blood Host (Single) - DARKO US
…and she was beautiful - Before I Turn
A Work of Art - ICE NINE KILLS
Everything Disembodied Tyrant has put out.
The pinch harmonic made me busssss
I’m so excited to watch this
