    Very nice sir 👏 in viva teacher asked me why 5 ml benedict reagent and 8 drop urine is taken?? Can u please explain

    • @Biochemistrybasics
      @Biochemistrybasics  Рік тому +4

      Thanks Ravina.
      Why in Benedict test five ml of reagents and 8 drops of urine taken
      The reason why five milliliters of Benedict's reagent and eight drops of urine are used in the test is to maintain consistency and standardization in the procedure. Using a fixed volume of reagent ensures that the test is conducted under the same conditions each time, which is important for obtaining reliable results.
      Similarly, the use of a fixed number of drops of urine helps to ensure that the amount of reducing sugar in the sample is within the detection range of the test. Too much or too little urine can skew the results and make it difficult to interpret them accurately.
      Overall, the use of fixed volumes and amounts in the Benedict's test is important for ensuring that the test is performed accurately and consistently, and that the results obtained are reliable and meaningful.
      Hope it helps

    Benedict's reagent react with reducing sugar color get yellow,.why?

    • @Biochemistrybasics
      @Biochemistrybasics  9 місяців тому

      The alkaline sodium carbonate present converts the sugar into a strong reducing agent called enediols. Due to the creation of cuprous oxide Cu2o during the reduction reaction, the mixture's colour changes from blue to brick-red precipitate
