Is everyone blind? The Korean girl at the start got disqualified because her front wheel was crossing the white line, she positioned her feet a way that wasn’t parallel to the white line. She rolled over it.
Her skate is not over the second line you can see blue before the wheel. However she moved a cm forward so that might have been it. I do not know the rules so is it crossing the line or movement that causes a false start?

Thank You !! It amazes me how stupid these comments are. Her leading edge was over the line both times. The judge obviously has a much better angle looking down the line. Nowhere in this video can we see this, but he can, that’s why he’s the line judge.
As a speed-skater, the rules have changed many times, but it's because of she touched the second line on the start. She is the only athlete that have started touching the line behind. In my opinion, i think she had to participate in that raced, but i'm not a judge

1:16 she crossed the line. see the direction of others skates. they did not put sketes vertically because there is a risk of slipping the line.

That’s so unfair for South Korea. She must’ve worked really hard for so long and she got disqualified for what reason?! I feel terribly bad for her. If I was her, I’d be screaming and leaving there. Her soul must’ve been crushed.

Girl the championship doesn’t work this way I am also a professional skater I have entered many tournaments in my states
its on the rules. You can't just false start. I know its cold say that but its like "basics" of the rules for mostly of Olympic races.

This is a dumb mistake that can be avoided, she had the first warning, and she repeated it again. She positioned her skate perpendicular to the line, where everyone is well aware of the risk putting your skate perpendicular to the line, and that's why everyone else except the Korean put their skate parallel to the line. It's rookie mistake, but for an important event like this I am surprised that she was not informed.

yo veo que es la korena descalificada, es la única que tiene un patín en direccion frontal y las otras tienen los dos patines apuntando hacia los lados, por eso habrá sido descalificada.
Exacto el largo del patin toca alguna línea de largada. Eso cuenta como falta... y lo hizo 2 veces
It could also be her foot positioning though. Notice how the skaters stretch or position their skates either sideways or with one foot sideways and the other foot facing forward. But if you slow the video down right before the gun fires and both race starts, everyone but Korea has their skates facing sideways. So maybe its a rule that both skates must face sideways at start of race and you cant leave one skate facing forward.
