Hard to believe with the advancement in performance enhancing drugs & training since Flo Jo's day, her records still haven't been broken. Leads me to believe she was the best and still is.
Advancement in PED's ? The only advances have been in non-detectable roids but not in the strength of effect. Training is not that much more advanced. Often the colleges follow the (by now old) Eastern Bloc research.
Well..its a bittersweet acknowledgement..Considering the fact that 'Steroids' is what killed her. She died of an Enlarged Heart...The Heart is the Strongest Muscle in the body..it Pumps Thousands of beats a day!...Millions in a Life time. Unlike biceps and triceps..or quads and calves that fill up with blood from multiple sets and reps, The Heart cannot work to failure! It must continue to work...Supplying Oxygenated Blood to the Brain, all the internal organs and Muscles. But just like the muscles i mentioned...the Heart grows and thickens from Steroids..and when it does, it becomes 'Musclebound' and loses its ability to do the one thing its designed for...And thats to keep you Alive! Eventually the Heart cannot Pump the Blood out...Losing the ability to contract and expand..The Heart Chambers become Flooded...and the Heart Seizes...Drowning in its own Blood...Causing Death
I have heard that this is a possible consequence of steroid usage (enlarged heart). Years ago throwing coaches from the Eastern Bloc would recommend aerobic work to counter balance all the negative side effects(thickening of the heart musculature) that would occur with exclusively strength and power work.
The only way we can find out is if we let all the athletes dope to their teeth and chase her records. Because doping is not as prevalent as it used to be back in the days because of the stricter tests. I also can't see athletes like Allyson Felix doping which puts them at a disadvantage.
FloJo was the reason I wanted to run as a kid. To this day, I still watch her videos for inspiration and for entertainment. She was an amazing woman and a phenomenal athlete. It's cool to see someone else feels the same.
Same❤ I discovered her by reading about her mysl seventh grade year and then ran track and it was a great inspiration for sure. Never got to be flo jo fast though lol
She was Better than anyone else. ! They put the stats, physical make ups and race times of the fastest men against her And Pound for Pound she is the fastest human on the planet ! The amount of time it took her foot to touch and leave the ground is the fastest in history and she had the smoothest, most relaxed running form that there has ever been. Man or Woman. ! They have compared her running style to all of the great men, including Mr. Bolt and his form looks like a rag doll incomparison to Flo Jo's ! The Girl Was Smooth ! If she would have been a man she would smoked Mr, Bolt. ! Her Running Form Was Impeccable !
@leonard bolton the comment said “greatest of all time” which is not true since she was ultra doped and there is something called a man, and 200 men have run under that time
Ultra doped and her technique is really bad comparing other techniques like Usain bolt running a second faster with no drugs which means if he did take drugs he would be able to run 9 seconds easy
She was doped to the eyeballs. Her physique was transformed in the space of twelve months, she started running times she previously got nowhere near, and then promptly retired prior to random testing coming in. No credible source recognises those times as legit.
Today is the 25th anniversary of FloJo's death. She is the only woman to hold 2 athletics world records for more than 35 years. There are people in our world who can do admirable things without any doping. Credit to FloJo. REST IN PEACE❤❤❤❤❤😢
Couldn't have said it any better (especially the part about male power) THAT'S WHAT STEROIDS DO FOR WOMEN (ask the German 400m world record holder (exposed because she wasn't America) at least she did it over a period of time and not suddenly like "Jo" (fitting name for her ) so she lived through it .
@@karlharriott9953 male power is a thing because I don’t see any woman going under 10.4 when the world record is 9.58 and she was ultra doped and her fastest without the drugs would’ve been about 11 since she was doped so much
Flo Jo was the best of best. She got everything. Speed Charisma Power Grace Charm and the way she carried herself was a treat to watch. We cannot find another female athlete who would have all of such qualities.
Serena Williams says hi, even tho she's not runner, she has it all. Plus they've tried to make Marion Jones new Flo-Jo n we know how it has ended xD :D
What blows me away is not just the speed, but her form. Everyone else on the track is a professional and one of the best in the world at what they do. And they look sloppy and untrained when compared. People will forever talk about steroid abuse and so on. But the most remarkable thing about her without a doubt was her stride and her technique.
@@KrishnaSingh-ow1ie Thanks for pointing that out. She retired prematurely after these Olympics, a year before mandatory random tests. That doesn't mean Darrell Robinson's published claims in 1989 are true, but other aspects around her rapid improvement and then her retirement accord with his claims.
Her ground contact time, and ability to get her leg back up, and then powerfully throw it back down is second to none. correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure she had one of the lowest measured ground contact times of any sprint athlete to this day. Both Male or Female.
The way she powers through at the end and does not even look tired. Seems to be something like EPO, which allowed her to keep going with enhanced endurance... She always pulls away 9n the straight (200m) and after 60m in the 100.
Flo Jo was a beautiful runner to watch run. Wish she was still with us today. Makes me sad when I think of all the great athletes who died before their careers were finished.
The author Parrish Gore Marion Jones never failed a drug screen. "What evidence do you have that supports your theory that Flo Jo cheated?" There is sufficient circumstantial evidence to support the claims that she was drug cheat. When her physique change drastically i.e., bulging muscles and elongated jaw line she stated she changed her diet and her new coach who was her husband stated he trained her like a man. Flo Jo and her husband discovered a nutrition and training program that transformed a average 28YO sprinter into a world beater. No details of the miraculous nutrition and training program were ever made available to the Track & Field world. This program could have made millions for Flo Jo and her husband. Al Joyner her husband should be a top sprint and conditioning coach in America. After all he coached the fastest woman ever. Flo Jo never detailed the miraculous nutrition and training program that transformed her in any book despite writing several for kids. It is a nutrition and training program that will never be duplicated as it never existed. Both Al and Flo Jo remain a disgrace to Track & Field.
Kerry Pal In 2006 Marion Jones tested positive for EPO (Erythropoietin). It was her "A" sample which tested positive. She withdrew from the Meet (Weltklasse Golden League in Switzerland) citing "personal reason". Officially her "B" sample would need to test positive in order for her to receive punishment for banned substances. But, apparently, her "B" sample came back negative. So, officially her test was considered negative even though her "A" sample was positive for EPO. So, she did fail a drug test, only it wasn't considered an official fail. As for Flo Jo's physical changes, every athlete who lifts weights will gain muscle and improved physical abilities. This doesn't prove anything. If you really want to point a finger at someone, try Bolt. His destruction of the 100 meter record is beyond the normal progression.
The author Parrish Gore You are correct. However, if the B sample is of any significance, then she was cleared and consequently there are no positive test on her record. Flo Jo: Lifting weights will result in the enlargement of muscles. However, it does not contribute to the changing of the voice, elongation of jaw lines and acne. At your convenience view the UA-cam video containing an interview with Kellie White a Balco progeny. She details the changes in her body and voice underwent and the severe acne she developed. Bolt: I am a Jamaican and can address the Bolt suspensions. Bolt was expected to be a world class athlete over 200M based on the record times he was recording as teenager. He captured the attention of the athletics world when he defeated older athletes as 16YO in the Junior World Championship. He lost his way when he became a senior and did get serious until he secured the services of world class sprint coach Glenn Mills. He was a 200M specialist and that is the in which he was expected to great things. After his defeat by Tyson Gay in the 2007 WC, His coach realized he was not fast enough to be a winner at that level unless Tyson Gay suddenly drop dead. He decided to use 100M sprints to improve his sped and 400M back ground work to carry said speed. Tyson Gay was a 100M & 200M performer. During 100M training session and as a raw 100M runner with a best time of 10.03, he recorded time below 10 seconds. This was done without the application of the core techniques required for the 100M discipline. His drives was bad, When he came out of his drive phase he rocked badly because of his height. The only thing good was his speed endurance. Despite his flaws he was still running sub-ten for the distance. His coached worked with his to clean up his technique and the rest is history. Both ability, speed and stride lengths allows his to do things average athletes cannot. No athlete on PED declares they want to be a 'LEGEND' and goes out and do it. Steroid have serious side effect and just a quickly as they build the body is just as quickly as they it down. Jamaica has a rich history of producing world class athletes. The only athletes that have held the 100M & 200M WR at the same time have been Jamaicans i.e., Donald Quarrie and Usain Bolt.. The only athlete in history to have the world leading times for 100M, 200M & 400M in a single year has been a Jamaican i.e., Herby McKinley. Bolt is not drug induced athlete. If he uses PED he would be a national disgrace and could not call Jamaica his home anymore. He exhibited greatness as a child and is no blot from the blue.
+Brian Wilson Only and Only one athlete has somehow a fabulous stride still today : Allyson Felix . Those 2 together would have pulverized many records ....
It was through watching Florence Griffith Joyner that I started playing/enjoying sports in general. Although it was basketball I ended up playing, I have never stopped being an avid spectator of track and field to this day.
I was the 100 meter champion at my high school the year she smashed the records, aged 13. Flo Jo was my absolute idol and at age 43 now I am still floored by how powerful she was. I cried watching this, she was taken too soon. Incredible athleticism and soul to match. RIP beautiful woman and GOAT.
FloJo's husband set the record straight long ago. They purchased a $150 leg lift machine and she worked out on that thing darn-near all day long. She trained non-stop, etc. Also, what many are not aware of is not only did she past numerous drug tests while she was alive, but after she died, they ripped her body apart testing for all types of doping imaginable and found absolutely nothing. She was thoroughly tested alive and after she passed, and found to be innocent. Ok, let's just say she was doping...um, Marion Jones, childhood prodigy who was always expected to be Gold Medalist doped and didn't come close. There was CLEARLY something in FloJo's training that got her where she was no matter what anyone says.
+stevie586 She was never tested for steroids in her autopsy. The coroner found her bladder had too little urine for drug testing. The story that her body was "ripped apart for steroids" is nothing but a myth created by apologists. And she had no reason to be taking steroids after retiring from athletics before she died anyway. The quick change in her appearance like her deeper voice, increased musculature and sprinting performance makes her a suspect for doping. And drug testing during her time is nothing like what it is now. There was no unannounced random out of season testing in the 80s so athletes could cycle steroid use before any event with drug testing. No test for growth hormone existed back then either. Lance Armstrong showed how the testing system could be beat by careful planning and bribery. The leg lift machine story is so ridiculous as if she was the first track and field female athlete to ever train with weights. The reasonable explanation for her success is that she trained hard and also cycled steroids.
+stevie586 Yes of course there was something in her training. Steroids. Makes you train like a God to run like the wind. You said it yourself - Marion doped but was never even close. Ponder about those implications.
***** You can actually see telltale scarring of the liver several years after quitting steroids. Ovarian cysts can appear in females, as well as enlarged clitoris and adam's apple. These things doesn't go away at all.
To this day (2019) you don't see that swag mix with grace and nobody can touch her form Flo Jo beautiful and a joy to watch her stride is like poetry in motion RIP you still the GOAT👑🌹🔥🐐❤
The allegations of drug use were never proven. The ones who said that she had used drugs had done so because she had more muscle mass then before and her times improved. These changes were do to a change in her diet and workout regimen. When they tested her in 1988 there was nothing in her system.
However, she underwent such a dramatic change in physique In just a matter of 1 year. Although it has never been proven, its obvious to many people that she had to of been involved with the use of drugs
Hundreds of US athletes (and probably thousands internationally) failed their drugs tests in these Olympics. Many failed in Beijing '08 and London '12. If anyone thinks ANY of these athletes are clean they really need to get with Reality. The big stars have been allowed to get away with it to keep the sport alive
He did confess to it. Carl Lewis has also admit he failed all his drug tests. Lewis said he was only one of hundreds of US athletes who failed drugs tests and was allowed to compete anyways
I loved FLO JO back in the day, but back then, I was REAL heavy into track and field. I followed these world class sprinters CLOSELY. I remember back when she was definitely a world class sprinter, but she used to get dominated by Evelyn Ashford ... she had a slim, sexy track physique. All of a sudden, within a year she has these huge muscles in her legs and her sprint times are going through the roof! NOW she's dominating Evelyn Ashford after chasing her all those years. Plus, the records she set aren't even close to being touched by women today .... women who are stronger and more athletic than women from 25 years ago. She was never caught, and I hate to admit it, but it was obvious she was taking steroids .... a lot of people are STILL in denial about that!
+Jay Luck Although I think she did juice, I think 90% of all track and field athletes do. So it doesn't take away from her achievements in my opinion. Usain Bolt, regardless of whether they find anything in his system, Mo Farah, Jonathan Edwards, Michael Johnson - regardless if they had or hadn't - were exceptional. Because not only did they beat other cheats but also, technique and talent are unquestionable. Flo Jo's sprint technique was near flawless. And considering she had considerably less muscle mass than Dafne Schippers, Veronica Campbell Brown and other more modern sprinters, she produced unfathomed power, speed with beautifully effortless grace
Still Dre. Brah. I'm just sayin .... I absolutely LOVED flo jo! I think she was one of the sexiest female sprinters ever ... your number (90%) is a little high, but I also think most sprinters are on the juice ...
I wouldn't say most sprinters, I'd say most athletes. But as for athletes today being stronger than athletes of previous years, general strength training methods haven't really changed much at all, and I've trained alongside many of the top medal performers in the UK at Loughborough Uni. Diets from years gone by have marginally changed, the use of plyos, weight training and conditioning are the same, even biomechanical improvements have been marginal. The low heel recovery Flo Jo and Ben Johnson used are what top sprinters of today also use, although I'd say today's sprinters have perfected the drive phase as most sprinters pre mid 90's seemed to have a much more brief/ non existent drive phase.
+Jay Luck You hit it on the money! Actually hers and Ben Johnson's physiques were completely different from their 84 LA appearances. It was too obvious not only how they looked , but how both they destroyed their competition, which a year earlier, they couldn't beat!
Exact Same words I was told and which I sincerely try to remember. Even if said in anger I apologize as quickly as I can... We're all human and VERY fallible, we have no right to judge others.
Yes, many people forget about Evelyn. Remember how Flo-Jo nearly cost the US the gold in the 4X100 at Seoul with that sloppy hand-off? But that "other gear" that Evelyn kicked into in the last 100 meters was what made that gold possible.
We can argue for eternity about flo jo, but what cannot be denied is her technique and how well she executed it. Take a look a jeter when she ran 10.64 and 10.67. They are similarities in their technique.
anthony clarke I was just about to post something similar. We are quick to assume that exemplary performance is a result of drug use. Quite often because we think it's not possible because we can't do it ourselves. When a savant can take one look at a city and draw it by hand to with more detail than a HD camera could, from memory, and when a human being can formulate what we call Calculus, what do we attribute those extraordinary actions to? Brain steroids from a LA Lab? See where I'm getting at. People just born with the talent/gift to do great things. Some never find out what they are great at, others do. Add the mix of goof guidance(a coach) and you can multiply those results. Look at her running compared to the others. I've always asked, why don't females run like males do so that they can go faster? Well Flo did. Still had a little dainty movements here and there, but she was close to how males run and thats why she stood out. I'm not a believer of, "steroids is the reason".. I'm a believer of, "this person realised what is the right mechanics to do and that's why they are excelling vs the others", until a positive drug test is returned.
Aventine There were a lot of 'savants' in the eighties right? It's a bit strange that a lot of female records still stand today don't you think? Every sport is evolving except women's athletic so it's not strange that people don't believe that see ran clean. I do agree with her being a great athlete because there are a lot of doped athletes who couldn't touch her time in more then 25 years...
1978utreg In the 80s there were tons of dopers. No one can deny that. But I'm saying, people are quick to judge a great athlete when they perform "unusual". This is no racist card. Just an example of stereotyping: There are a lot of black criminals out there, just as a lot of dopers in the sport back then. What if a black guy walks into a store and the owners say to themselves, "he's black, so he's a criminal", just as someone would say, "they perform well, they are definitely doping". Point being, unless the crime is done and charged, we can't say it must have been dope. Even if the record lasts for long. Example, Jon Edwards triple jump record. Or mike Powell's long jump record or Soto's high jump record. You don't take drugs that increase performance and look like those guys(skin and bones) unless it's blood doping(as far as I know, tho). Besides, in events like those where technique/mechanics dominates(field events), no drug on earth can make your technique better. You can only get stronger or faster or go for longer. So even if her records are lasting long, that still can't be used as proof. See what I'm saying? She was just exceptional, for all we know. I get your point as well.
Take for example this Jamaican, Christopher taylor. I once sat beside him, kid is like frikkin bones. He's 15yo and is the fast youth all time over 400m. 45 low I believe. Like 45.3 or something. 15yo! Image if this kid is well trained and properly managed, physically and so on and kept injury free, until he becomes senior, and start breaking some monster records. Are we going to attribute his performance and raw talent from drugs?
I get a lot of your points but there are still enough weird circumstances. She stopped here career for a year and gained like 60lbs but suddenly comes back crushing records hat are still there? Then here acne, deep voice and early dead are also suggesting that she had been taking drugs. Even so she was ofcourse one of the best athletes ever even if she did take performance enhansing drugs. Sorry for my English, but it's my 3rd language ;-)
Here is a portion of an LA Times article from 1998 "Olympic sprint champion Florence Griffith Joyner died after suffering an epileptic seizure, according to autopsy results released Thursday, and her family and friends say they hope the findings will put to rest rumors that drug use contributed to her death. Griffith Joyner died last month in her sleep at age 38." The article is titled Seizure Led to FloJo’s Death. There is no evidence she used PEDS. Read the article, it details what caused her to pass and how she passed. There is no mention of swollen brain or heart.
I have watched track and field athletics since the 1960's and I have to be honest and tell you that Flo Jo's records and victories are not clean ones. The margins of her victories were simply too great. Not only that, but I saw her performances take a quantum leap in a very short period of time. If you want to know who the best U.S. sprinter was, it was Evelyn Ashford. She was always clean and she beat a lot of runners who were dirty. For this reason alone, I admire her more than anyone. Oh, and in case you don't believe me, just listen to Flo Jo's voice. It is a dead giveaway. As for the men, the only clean sprinter ( 100 or 200 ) I know of during that time was Calvin Smith. Smith may have been the fastest man who ever lived.
Greenwolfe Green :Nice observation but what about Usiam Bolt. In the 2008 Olympic games his best performance was semi finals with a time of 10.58. The following year(2009) he run 9.58. If your theory is anything to go by then this is also worth mentioning. But Bolt has never failed any drug test. A leap of 1 second in one year is abnormal, talk to any sprinter.
@@oluwaponlekudehinbu3100 Why? Armin Hary of Germany and Jim Hines of america ran faster than Bob Hayes! Armin Hary 10.00 Jim Hines 10.03 Bob Hayes 10.06 Fully Automatic Timed on cinder track. This isn't an opinion, these are the facts!
Some old geezer telling how he's been watching track and field since The Flintstones is NOT PROOF! Retrograde Armchair Analysis has not erased her speed, beauty or records.
There was an ABC documentary about her do I heard her voice throughout her career. It was alwsys s little gruff and low. I don't even have to say that she definitely did not take steroids... All I have to say is that there is definitely no proof that she ever did and her records still stand. All else is conjecture and speculation. Sometimes in life that special one comes along. I choose to just enjoy it.
Flo Jo's greatness is proven by the fact that her world records still stand after more than 35 years. The men's 100- and 200-meter world records from 35 years ago have already been broken several times. If she used performance-enhancing drugs, if not, she is clearly the world's greatest sprinter. Let's add, no one has ever proven the accusations made against her. In 35 years, athletics, nutrition science, and the design of running shoes have developed a lot, but she is still the greatest. All credit goes to Flo Jo for the best running performance in the world. ❤
@@lalib.53 Her physical transformation by 1988. Her deeper voice. Increased acne .The fact her times dropped dramatically from 1987 to 1988. All signs point to an HGH stack. Absolutely phenomenal athlete! The Power, the seemingly effortless stride, the sheer elegance, the beauty! Simply the greatest of all time. And to think that had she pushed even harder at the last 10-15m at both events, instead of relaxing her stride as she did, Her records could have been even more unreachable. They may one day both be beaten, but she will remain, in my view, the GREATEST!
With the advancement in training, shoes, performance enhancement drugs nowadays, still can’t beat her record. When you got it, you just got it. RIP FloJo
FloJo gained confidence she was always great but 1988 you can tell she began to own it! Everyone had his/her time and 1988 was her year! God Bless her RIHeaven Flo ❤

Some of you people have no shame, to talk bad about a woman that's no longer with us! A woman that trained as hard as she could, so that she could represent her country in the Olympics. That's good enough for me as a proud American, it should be the same for you too! Yet all I see is a bunch of he say, she say. But for those of you who speaks of her as the great woman that she was, I say thanks for the respect that she deserves! Now for those of you who suspect that she used (steroids, or some type of enhancements)? I have but one question, were anyone of you with her 24/7 365 days a year? Then please leave her (Family, and Legacy) ALONE!!!
Oh wake up everybody. The year before she set her records she was nothing. A year later she breaks the world record by a 1/2 a second in the 100 m. She was so full of steroids ! I hope all those records and those gold medals were worth it to her and her family, because it cost refers life.
I got this off Wiki... After her death in 1998, Prince Alexandre de Merode, the Chairman of the International Olympic Committee's medical commission, claimed that Joyner was singled out for extra, rigorous drug testing during the 1988 Olympic Games because of rumors of steroid use. De Merode told The New York Times that Manfred Donike, who was at that time considered to be the foremost expert on drugs and sports, failed to discover any banned substances during that testing.[19] De Merode later said: "We performed all possible and imaginable analyses on her. We never found anything. There should not be the slightest suspicion."[20]
That's because oral steroids clear your body in 1 to for weeks and injectable steroids clear your body in 3 to 4 months. This is by todays testing methods. So back in 1988 as long as you stopped taking them in time, you wouldn't get detected. Also is it a coincidence that Flo Jo retired when out of season testing was introduced for the first time January 1st 1989??
It probably is a coincidence, and how can you denigrate someone who you have no real knowledge as to whether she cheated or not. The Wikipedia article is the experts in the field at that time, not suspicious conjecture. I will believe them before I accept someone who is not.
Anabolic steroids will not make me an Olympic champion, nor any of you for that matter. Regardless of how much we take, orally or injected, and regardless of the best track and field coach we can find or training methods we utilize kapisch..:0)
Flo Jo was the most marvelous athlete on the planet Earth. Gifted, charming, graceful, beautiful, speedy... witty, creative in fashion... and look at her smile while winning !!!!! Legs- like gazelle, and her stunning feet... well I tell you even if she had swallowed all medicines that had been prescribed for all the athletes in the world at the same time she proved to be the real genius in creating her charisma, stamina, composure and wonderful personality as a whole. With all due respect to all internet - born specialists in drag enhancement overdosing I do not mind- so far all the accusations levelled against Flo Jo have been rejected and unfounded. I do miss you darling. R.I.P. Florence Griffith Joyner!!!!

Have you seen OUR Elaine Thompson-Herah ??? She ran a 10.61 at Olympics, and ran a 10.54 in Eugene. I'm pretty sure we are taking our time to delete EVERY FloJo record
she had epilepsy which was confirmed during her autopsy, also she was constantly drug tested before death and even after. So stop the lies, this woman was simply gifted!!!!!!

To this day I've never seen anybody with better form, mechanics and technique! Florence Griffith-Joyner is the best I've ever seen, male or female.
I definitely agree. It was beautiful.
I'd say Jeter is pretty close - it's hard to believe Flo Jo was faster than her
She was Better than anyone else. ! She was doped to the eyeballs. Her physique was transformed in the space of twelve months, she started running times she previously got nowhere near, and then promptly retired prior to random testing coming in. No credible source recognises those times as legit.
If she had dipped her body at the tape instead of raising her arms she would have had an even faster time. Poetry in motion. Just beautiful!

Flo Jo was the best of best. She got everything. Speed Charisma Power Grace Charm and the way she carried herself was a treat to watch. We cannot find another female athlete who would have all of such qualities.

What blows me away is not just the speed, but her form. Everyone else on the track is a professional and one of the best in the world at what they do. And they look sloppy and untrained when compared. People will forever talk about steroid abuse and so on. But the most remarkable thing about her without a doubt was her stride and her technique.
She was taking hgh. Another said he sold her high to her. Why would this guy lie and ruined his career from it. I beleive the story.
@@KrishnaSingh-ow1ie Thanks for pointing that out. She retired prematurely after these Olympics, a year before mandatory random tests. I like this comment
she run so majesticly
i don't think i ever see so perfect in technique and timing

Flo Jo was a beautiful cheat. Marion Jones is a good looker as well and she is also cheat.
Kerry Pal Marion Jones failed drug screens. But what evidence do you have that supports your theory that Flo Jo cheated?
The author Parrish Gore Marion Jones never failed a drug screen.
"What evidence do you have that supports your theory that Flo Jo cheated?"
There is sufficient circumstantial evidence to support the claims that she was drug cheat.
I love the way Flo Jo run. Excellent.

Evelyn Ashford in my opinion is the Greatest Of All Time!
FloJo was so beautiful and graceful. She was one of a kind.
Her tears of joy at the gold medal ceremony says it all. She deserved the gold medals for herself and for her country!
Her husband was a drug cheat as well.

You can actually see telltale scarring of the liver several years after quitting steroids. Ovarian cysts can appear in females, as well as enlarged clitoris and adam's apple. These things doesn't go away at all.

Jay Luck We'd believe you if you had actual proof, but you don't and speculation just doesn't cut it. Hushhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

She's amazing and I love her!!!!
Here is a portion of an LA Times article from 1998 "Olympic sprint champion Florence Griffith Joyner died after suffering an epileptic seizure, according to autopsy results released Thursday, and her family and friends say they hope the findings will put to rest rumors that drug use contributed to her death.
I agree with a lot you've said but as regards the fastest who ever lived, I'll go for Bob Hayes

@@MissIngrilicious100 10.61 ain’t far from 10.49💀 so it’s pretty close just watch
She wouldn't have done that mark nowadays 🤭 Thomson is probably the fastest ever
Florence, Gail, Evelyn, Wilma, Allison, Queen, Sanya,Wyomia and Gwen were my idols!
The 200 meter record is really incredible. She eased up with 15 meters to go.
She shouldn’t have, she messed up 🥲
the human body cannot sustain its maximum possible pace for 200m... not even for 100m. this is by design.

With the advancement in training, shoes, performance enhancement drugs nowadays, still can’t beat her record. When you got it, you just got it. RIP FloJo
Fantastic performance so beautiful ❤❤❤❤
FloJo gained confidence she was always great but 1988 you can tell she began to own it! Everyone had his/her time and 1988 was her year! God Bless her RIHeaven Flo ❤

Clean, smooth running style belongs to Flo Jo.
Its performance is unsurpassed. She achieved her results simply by activating her own creative energies, also using her husband's training methods.
Thanks to FloJo. REST IN PEACE❤
She the best forever❤
Clean???😂😂😂👉🏼💉💉💉💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
@@GreekboyyD Yup, evidence?👀
@@lalib.53 Her physical transformation by 1988. Her deeper voice. Increased acne .The fact her times dropped dramatically from 1987 to 1988. All signs point to an HGH stack. The fact she "retired" the following year when random drug testing was introduced speaks volumes. 🤣
Who drops WR times at the age of 29 that aren't touched for almost 40 years?
The fact that 36 years have gone by and the records are untouched with faster tracks, cleats, nutritional knowledge and training methods says it all.
The fact her entire camp has been linked to PEDs
Often times we find out that our heroes are not who we thought they were.
Deal with it.
Stop the glazing.

Beautiful Lady , sleep easy Flo
It is there to see that her running mechanics is the key to her success.
Those legs, those strides, the power. Simply AWESOME!
Sha carri is not even close to flo jo’s performance....She is A LEGEND❤❤❤❤
My teacher has met you before she said
Oh wake up everybody. The year before she set her records she was nothing. A year later she breaks the world record by a 1/2 a second in the 100 m. She was so full of steroids ! I hope all those records and those gold medals were worth it to her and her family, because it cost refers life.
both races she is smiling at the finish, best running form I ever seen

Just the best
The peak speed of a pelerin Falcon
The velocity and power of a guepard
The fluidity and grace of a gazelle
I got this off Wiki...
After her death in 1998, Prince Alexandre de Merode, the Chairman of the International Olympic Committee's medical commission, claimed that Joyner was singled out for extra, rigorous drug testing during the 1988 Olympic Games because of rumors of steroid use. De Merode told The New York Times that Manfred Donike, who was at that time considered to be the foremost expert on drugs and sports, failed to discover any banned substances during that testing.[19] De Merode later said:
"We performed all possible and imaginable analyses on her.
Chrissy Darling You are correct...why nobody understands this is beyond me.
Anabolic steroids will not make me an Olympic champion, nor any of you for that matter. Regardless of how much we take, orally or injected, and regardless of the best track and field coach we can find or training methods we utilize kapisch..:0)
Sherman Luster So why do people even bother taking them?
Jorney I love you so much ❤❤❤❤
Close races for 2nd and 4th in the 100m!
Florence isn't as muscle bound or bulky as many of today's sprinters, but those thighs...
+Andrew C. Her voice was another story though.
+Lim Kaamen lolllllll
Lim Kaamen what u tryna say
lovethat her voice deepened
She is built like a race horse, women today aren't built like her, and if they are, check her doping.
it's so fascinating to watch the leg muscles in slow motion, it's like an animal's
Makes me wonder if she was on steroids back then that went undetected 🤔

She was awesome!!! I remember watching that like it was yesterday.

I rember seeing her run in the 200M in Rome the year before and she got dusted in a time much slower than this. Whatever she did, legally or illegally, she improved like a half a second....Unbelievable....
