What a mess we have gotten ourselves in. We have a large world out there with a galaxy of different options likes, loves, dislikes etc. what we can’t seem to find much of is peace, understanding, and tolerance for one another. Caitlin Clark, I guess will be loved by many, hated by many, put down by many because I think we got an enormous amount of emotions that we have really never understood in ourselves. We appear to be the happiest when we have someone or something that we can tear down. Because once we are being cruel to someone or something, we are ok with that. Got no answers for you all, just an observation. However, if we maybe looked inward and explored our emotions on a very deep level, maybe we could learn to be happy for ourselves and others and maybe this crap would end. If you are like me, Lord knows I am tired of this crap.
The real shame here is that, at its best, sports can break down barriers and bridge divides and challenge racism and discrimination like very little else can, but instead the words and actions of many in and surrounding the WNBA have fueled racial animus just as the league is being much more closely followed and examined. Shame to those on both ends of the spectrum who have chosen to be part of the problem. Caitlin Clark is not part of the problem, but those that are have come out of the woodwork to stir the toxic stew and mistreat her terribly. How about a basketball league where players of all stripes come together and compete hard, but at the same time set a positive example for how people from all walks of life can overcome their differences and work together for the benefit of all? The WNBA is really fumbling the ball here and sinking to the least common denominator level. Once again, what a shame.
Follow the Adrienne Ross Show or the Ben Daniel Podcast if you really want perspective on this matter. I like Mick’s take on basketball matters, but he’s not in tune with racial division issues here in the US.
Empathy is not weakness. Acknowledgement is not agreement. It is frustrating to attempt to have a dialog without people of color taking offense and decrying the ability to even have a right to comment. I liken this to my father-in-law telling me that, because I do not imbibe, I cannot understand what it is to be an alcoholic. I had to remind him that I have been surrounded by drunks, doing what drunks do, but being the only rational and sober person in the room. I have no problem with people enjoying drinking, socially, but I reserve the right to observe, and comment, on their behavior, while I myself am not impaired, and functioning with reason.
0:34 that’s a bummer to see one person drop off right when you are talking about subs. Don’t worry, more will come. Especially when the season starts again. You’ll have that third 100k plaque before you know it.
Too bad there is so much free time between seasons. I would throughly enjoy some kind of separation between activism and sports. Sports can be the place where we all come together to oohh and ahhh over achievement, camaraderie, and sportsmanship. I started watching basketball, because even someone as fresh to the game as me, could see the phenomenal skill set Caitlin brought to the game. What kept me watching was the beautiful way Caitlin showed off other players through sharing the ball. This was fun to watch. I found myself wondering” who was that awesome player?” My interest began to expand beyond the initial attraction of one player. However, The hard fouls and obvious attempts to dis Caitlin, were a big turnoff. And now, the 💩show of the past week leaves me scratching my head. This has been a huge test for my newfound interest in women’s basketball. It may not prove to be worth my time.

CC wasn't gifted stats, she earned them.
Temi is amazing, beautiful, and talented. Kudos for having a take that most Americans have
I'll miss Temi on the Fever. Hope she does good on the Valkeries.
Temi is a great baller, but even more important, she is a great person....
If there's a chance Fagbenle could still end up with the Fever in spite of the expansion draft, I'd be all for that.
It’s unlikely. But Temi is a Restricted free agent and could go to the highest bidder (SF would have an opportunity to match that bid).
Nah she can stay where she at we good
Temi is the best

I think comparing people of color to drunks is in and of itself problematic
Tami is a good player but she was injured 50% of the season and she is getting a little long in the tooth for this team .
Well if Temi ends back with the Fever. That's sounds good to me. 😏
You’ve lost the plot bro
Where does Temi say that Caitlin is a great person?? Because you have it in quotes as if it’s exactly what she said. More click-bait??
