I see that you would consider buying the custom s so its probably within your budget than I suggest to wait for it or buying another guitar in similar specs. To me the whether the guitar fulfills your needs is more important than if its a signature.

This is a personal preference. The neck pickup gives you a lot more mids while the bridge one gives you harshness. For riffs its 99.99% bridge pickup and 40% of the lead could be considering using the neck pickup.

Question, I just acquired this same guitar from a give away contest and was lucky enough to get the whole band to sign it when they played in Austin OCT 13th. The guitar looks set up like it was played. the back of the neck has been treated/ smoothed, the back plate that covers the back of the guitar has been removed and there is 2 of Synysters picks taped to the top of the body next to the strap nob lastly there is a E from like label maker tape put on the head of the guitar by the low E string tuning nob. I'm not a professional musician or anything just a hobby player thats a huge avenge sevenfold fan from way back and was wondering if your guitar had the same things on it the way it came.
its most likely been played on stage. although it shouldve been said on the giveaway that its been stage used if thats the case. as for the "e" marking its a common practice by guitar techs to note which tuning the guitar is in. Removed backplate is for easier access if the tech needs to adjust the springs. All of these things on the guitar makes me believe that your guitar has been used on stage at som point. one lucky man!

Get an amp sim such as bias fx 2 as I was using here. But I usually use Archetype by Neural DSP (Gojira and Tim Henson).

Mine was a normal production model Synyster Custom without all that tapes stuff. Comes with a back plate without his picks.

How did you get the tone ?
That's a preset by Martin Ronning on bias fx with modifications on the EQ by me. I think he stopped sharing the preset long ago.
