Civilian about to deploy! Why take the wipes and detergent, won't the BX or shopette have those there? Just wondering as it adds weight etc. Thanks for the great video.
@pollyannastyrene9009 I packed wipes and detergent because sometimes there will be a shortage or mission where you can’t wash your clothes or you have to improvise. Also, prices are going up everywhere and Kuwait is a different type of place where you use items in portion. Thanks for stopping by and supporting.
@AliciasLifesinglemilitarymom Detergent is here, and same as lysol type wipes. No need to pack them if you need to save space. It's slightly pricier (about Target prices).
Good job. Are you back yet or soon!?! Thank you for your service. My daughter is in the Air Force and was told yesterday. She is getting deployed. 😭 I just wanted to see what she should pack. Thank you. 😘🙏🥰❤️💋 #ManyBlessings
Hi, yes I just got back in the states thanks for asking. Aww, praying for your daughter and family during the time she is away. Stay positive and before you know it she’ll be back home. ❤️🙏🏽
@AliciasLifesinglemilitarymom alright, I packed everything so I wouldn't need to buy much of anything, like you. I still needed to buy TP, PT, almond milk (for the non-dairy folks), and honey (for the advid tea drinker like myself). I packed a trunk that was too heavy, so the airlines needed me to offload half into a suitcase. Lesson learned: 65-75lbs. Is max shipping (depending on the airline). I packed all my soap bottles (shampoo, cond. Bodywash, lotion, sunscreen, etc.), powders (protein, makup), and vitamins, and I was consistently questioned about them at every customs. I'm glad I put all my items in JUMBO ziplock bags. 2 bottles ended up leaking. I took a Dr's. Note for my carry-on pescriptions, and it was never detected or questioned. I'm a HUGE fan of heat protectant hair spray. My carry-on had: 2 work outfits, 1 street outfit, work boots, pescriptions, work devices, and travel sample size things that can fit less than a quart sized bag. I had issues at every bag check for proof of a KU visa despite having a LOA/orders/other. I'm glad I shipped energy drinks, b12 shots ahead of me getting there. I'd highly recommend sending consumables and toiletried ahead and keeping your work clothes in a checked bag. Shoes: I wore sneakers on the plane, work boots in my carry-on (the BX also sell boots here), sandals (to shower in), and running shoes. If you don't care how you look, then your running shoes can be your plane shoes. Some things I wish I knew: They sell Gatorade, and the chow has a knockoff (sometimes slushie) version. Chocolate is also sold here. Everything is so damn expensive at the BX. You can get a cotton towel, caddy, mesh bag (for bras), sandals, etc. at a dollar tree/store and save a bunch of money. Yes, it's hot here, but I'm currently wearing a jacket because the ac is blasting indoors. Tricks I used: I got a windbreaker type sand/cream/white jacket and pants, and it keeps the cool in and sandy dusty air out. The safari hat has been useful. The sleeves have also been hella useful.
Yes / No it all depends but they will charge you a fee however talk with your bank before leaving because they should have a policy or information on the currency.
With everything that you packed, was it enough for your entire deployment? I’m just trying to get an idea on the quantities I need to pack & definitely am not trying to be buying to where I’m going.

Do you have an after deployment review? Lessons learned type of thing? Thanks first trip myself. 😊
Yes, coming soon!
I have some input since I'm here. You can probably use this as verification.

Does the BX take US currency? I’ve noticed a lot of people taking a surplus of things and brands that the BX usually sells.

God Speed!!
There is a small hand pump that takes the air out.
Definitely will look into it next time. Thanks

Yes, it was and came back with some and gave some any to the Kuwait staff that worked there cleaning and cooking.
Going to Kuwait in February!!
Are you ready to leave to go to Kuwait? This year the time is flying fast.
@@AliciasLifesinglemilitarymom God willingly lol 💓
You’ll be fine. Just make sure you are being productive with your free time and saving your money.
Are you National Guard or AD? Is there a way I can message you?
