Every little thing about this scene tells so much about Gale, far beyond just the songs. The books he reads, the masks, even something like the microwave inconveniently placed back on top of the fridge suggesting he has one for an occasional convenience but doesn't use it much. An amazing 90 second character study.
The complete Trivia: the intro is actually italian, the rest is sung in milanese language (most northern regions and the islands have official minoritarian languages, not 'dialects'). The lyrics probably mock Benito Mussolini (crapa pelada=bald head), the song is from 1949. In this case they can be referring to Walter White (crapa pelada l'ha fà i turtei=bald head has made some turtei - a kind of filled pasta- = Walter White cooked meth crystals). Pure genius. As it's not likely that american directors and producers understand those local languages, chances are the actor Costabile who's of italian descent himself suggested the scene, just guessing. It would make sense since he's singing it perfectly (probably learnt from his parents).
Renato Sigillo but he didn't sing the complicated parts. Of course for an American it may be good. Have you seen the movie "Inglorious Basterds"? How Brad Pitt pronounces "grazie"? "Krettsy"...

Four reasons why the scene is great : 1) It feels like a gratuitous moment of fun and laughs over a grim show 2) David Costabile's performance is absolutely amazing 3) Crapa Pelada means "bald head" 4) The scene eases the tone of the episode and let us breath before the dramatic final scene. 0:08 foreshadowing Gus’s death in face off
When I saw this scene, I said to myself, that that guy Gale is talented. What a scene!
The best scene of universe.
To have worked on this production would have been the chance of a lifetime. Every scene a masterpiece, this being one of the keystones.
I like Gale's apartment, we gave a similar design aesthetic I think
