- 51 years on since British Railways ran their farewell to steam special, a trio of industrial tank engines were flying the flag for steam at Peak Rail in Derbyshire.
Kitson Lambton Tank No.29 (Courtesy of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway), Beyer Peacock 1827 of 1878 (Courtesy of the Foxfield Railway) and home based Vulcan Foundry Austerity No.72, were joined by Class 44 D8 “Penyghent”.
Class 25 diesel D7659 was on static display with its engine being demonstrated at times during the day on the Rowsley South turntable.
Train ran between Matlock and Rowsley South, passing at Darley Dale with a passenger set and a freight set in operation.
