They still do that; it's called marching band. Go over to those videos instead of complaining about theatrics when the whole point of WGI is theatrics and playing. Things evolve, and if you have a problem with that, fine. Clean cut playing and marching isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Well I don't know what bands u watch, but in GA they do it too. Im well aware of all things drumline and of indoor, corps, and marching band thank you. I don't mind theatrics as far as having a theme and telling a story. But the ballerina stuff needs to go.
The new world record tells another story. It looks like the ballerina stuff worked for RCC (the drumming too). But everybody is entitled to their opinion. I'm sure there are people out there who don't like the use of video monitors. They help add to the general effect. But also hurt when it's not working (MCM). If you look at many of the groups, they have a small color guard as part of the ensemble now. Even the props are looking like full on stage shows. As for RCC, they tried something different and was successful. Next year you'll see others follow the same direction. It's the evolution of WGI.
Jaysen Gill I don't know when you marched, but I remember already seeing a ton of theatrics the first time I was ever exposed to indoor percussion, in middle school 20 years ago. I think it's great to see the sport evolve. WGI is supposed to be about artistry.
Honored they used my song/voice. #LifeOnEarth (thanks Jim).
Wonderful song man love it!
I just saw this team take first place at Worlds. It was EPIC!!! Congratulations. I loved the entire show. ♡♡
They killed their finals run, every judge gave them first in both their overall score and performance score.
I am so fucking in love with that closer.
Goosebumps every time
micrototh00 I want to know who that one person who disliked this video is. That person is crazy.
This entire show is the reason why they won. What an amazing group, this is why I want to be a part of it
That closer gives me chills every time!
5:46, the best part of the show, it's so beautiful.
that snare solo into the tenor solo in the opener is sick
What song is at the end?
"Life on Earth" by Adam Watts
Incredible
Muito bonito.
Bravo
That was deep
MUUUUUUUUUULU
I miss the days when drumlines just played drums and marched. I hate all the theatrical crap.

It's not the theatrics. It's the dancing like ballerinas. I should have been more clear.
What a lame audience ! This show is amazing.
