I loved the fear in Kraang Prime's eyes as he realized just how big he was getting and what he was about to do-
Ralph would go out like this.
And sadly? I think this would be Mikey's push to truly unlock his mystic abilities. Like when we have something in your brains to stop us from using all our strength because our body can't take it? Mikey had something similar with his powers. But after losing a brother? His almost 2nd father in the early days of his life? He wouldn't care about his limits anymore
i saw this on tumblr when it came out, but i was in too much of AGHGDSDGGFHGAJSGJBGASHAS THIS IS AMAZING mode to really articulate my feelings on this masterpiece
at 0:41 the way the video shakes in and out of place in time with raphs steps and the fucking *look* on kraang primes face. that genuine fear (and look of "im about to piss myself")
and then we get the sense of just *how* fucking big raph got in comparison to the technodrome
the way he just smashes it on the ground
the way we can see his ninpo and himself fragmenting
and then at 1:26 when mikeys rage in harnessed in his ninpo and he literally burns his own mask up and his hair grows
and you know that that ninpo blast killed any stragglers from raphs attacks
and all the expressions are on point as always and the *song*
*oh my god t h e s o n g*
I don't think his hair grew, it was just that his hair tie or whatever also burnt off, making all of his hair go down
Edit: I just looked at it again and I was wrong

it's so good everything about is perfect the way Mikey flies in the air cuz his nympo is so strong cuz of all the emotion he feals and the way Ray smiles because his family is gonna be OK even though hes not. The fact that Raph is a fucking tank and the ground shakes beneath his feat. Im crying.

I'm so glad to see someone else using the headcannon that Leo's arm really was Raph's originally and that's why the specs are so off. Almost everyone goes with the Raph-Bot headcannon

Raph is a definite hero protecting his family
Ive been following your tumblr for a bit now and I have to say I LOVE just how much utter BOOM- you give raph. I cant stop watching this + the middle of the night animation because i admire so much just how well you represent the amount of raw power Raph really has. I also like how much you do this with Mikey as well, Raph has boom, the thunder, but Mikey is lightning, and is the firework. You embody how well their dynamic and just how i see them in general in their future versions you do that so so so well, keep doing what you do because its beautiful
Idk if I said this on tumblr, but god I just love this interpretation of his death- in most future au's/interpretations I've seen he gets crushed or stabbed, which is all fine! But this! Its beautiful- he gets to go out in a BLAZE. He hits the Krang hard and inspires fear in them. He delivers an enormous HIT on his way out and goes down swinging. I love this so much and I'm lowkey insane about it. Pushing himself past his limits to go out in the best way possible in my opinion. And the way Mikey just lets LOOSE AFTER oh my GOD.
Fucking amazing work man- I don't have the words to describe how much it means to me to see.

I love how Mikey burned his mask in case he didn’t make it so that Leo didn’t have to add a new mask to his sword because Mikey knows that every time Leo adds a mask its because Leo thinks it’s his fault. The person died and Mikey wants Leo to know it was never his fault if he died.

@@JustaLittleLad well it’s a point in the movie I noticed because Mikey doesn’t have his mask. I only assumed because of all these fan fictions. I’ve read that he burned it so that Leo wouldn’t have to suffer the burden of his brother being dead because of him again. So I’m not necessarily right I’m just observative

I don't know if this based on the CAS timeline or your own thoughts on his death, but it fits him so well-
In my mind this is probably a last ditch effort to stop the Kraang from doing anymore damage to the atmosphere/terrain (since the whole thing of the Technodrome is to transform planets to be uninhabitable) and it's beautiful. The 15 minute countdown was probably the countdown to the weapon firing and destroying the planet, and the look of realization on Donnie's face when Raph tells him what he's about to do is heartbreaking.
But most of all, the sheer size and strength that Raph gains because he knows that this is their only chance, and the expression on his face as he disintegrates, accepting it because he knew this is how it would end and relieved that his brother's will have a fighting chance after his actions.
In short: OHMIGOSH I'M GONNA CRY IF I WATCH THIS TOO MANY TIMES
