This is way more melodic, musically better, and more real than her punk outings, whaddaya expect, people grow both musically and in age!!! Spinnerette is awesome.
I was only vaguely aware of the Distillers, but upon hearing both bands I really prefer Spinnerette. But, it is all down to personal taste depending on if you are into a punk sound or more of an alternative rock type of sound.
music is music... she didint tryy to fit in the "punk scene" she just did by being herself. n by doing what she wants to do by making Spinnerette and not giving a f*ck what anyone else says or thinks otherwise. that, i think is truely what youd describe "punk rock".
