I been doing HungGar for 25 years . Nice to see another man that uses it with the energized energy of the intention behind the technique that was the most unique part about this style that I love the most I found the most unique thank you for your demonstration
Agreed! Far too many use energy that is meant to look impressive from the outside, for judges and such in competitive forms. This is the other kind, meant for the purpose of the art to begin with. Love it!
I´ve been practicing Hung gar for more than 13 years. This is one of the few times I´ve seen proper applications executed with good timing, technique, and sufficient striking power. Keep up the good work sifu.
I wasted more than 10 years with some fake masters. I feel sad when I'm watching this real kung fu training.. Sifu.!!! You are amazing.. And great ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@williammannard3540 Anybody who actually practice combat sports see how this is maybe 20% real and 80% fantasy. Lets see 1:48 for example. Nobody decent punch like this. When throwing hook, you step closer and your forearm is in 90 degree position, so this block is useless and leaves your whole face uncovered. This is one way ticket to hospital.
@@tatumergo3931 The techniques work. Though I think most kung fu practitioners should probably pair their style with a grappling style to become good fighters.
Damn that was fast and powerful. Very skillful! This is a really good, authentic Shaolin master. A lot of people don’t want to learn the hard stuff and just want the easy way of learning things. Speed and power comes after the basics. I learned from Hung Fut and we have very similar techniques but this guy is an true Kung Fu martial artist. Great form, speed and down to the little details.
@@schoolofcombativearts2943 Please keep spreading your love for authentic real Shaolin Kung Fu. Please show it in India or anywhere you are going or this art will die with many of the Kung Fu arts that have already been lost. You are one of the very few that provide dedication and commitment to this art and I can see you had a really good Sifu that taught you really well down to the basics. Not many Sifus can demonstrate in detail with speed and power the true practicality of the art. Much love to you.
Thank you Shifu Kanishka for demonstrating these applications. I learned the formed but had never learned the applications of its techniques. I always wondered their uses. Seeing them demonstrated now, and so effortlessly as well, is truly amazing. Thank you shifu!
I love seeing quality Hung Kuen applications. So many people remember techniques yet don't truly understand the different energies that are utilized in Hung Kuen applications.
I took Hung Ga Kuen for 11 years in the 1970’s and very early 80’s. I got up through Gung Gi and Fu Hok forms, and while we sparred hard in my school and were good compared to some other schools, I NEVER was taught the applications of the forms anywhere near as well as what I’m seeing in this video. The majority of people (students OR instructors) doing forms are just going through moves that they never wind up understanding or being able to apply in any useful sense. I’m very impressed by this demonstration by Sifu Kanishka, and (were he around then) he certainly could have improved my abilities vastly when I was a young man.
Every time you said “and this one” I just sat here with a smile 😃 Amazing brother 🙏 this is beautifully done , thank you thank you thank you ! Much love and respect from California !
You sir have rekindled my love for hung kuen . Watching you brought back to mind some of the techniques from hung I learned when I was young . Thank you !
Love this..I especially loved the first technique because so many techniques in ITF TaeKwon-Do and Karate have that crossing and then uncrossing movement seen in the first technique you demonstrated. BUT, most Karate-Ka /TKD people focus ONLY on the uncrossing part of the movement. You've shown that the FIRST part of those movements, the crossing, need to be taken seriously too. I do ITF TaeKwon-Do and your're making me re-examine and see new possibilities in lots of my techniques. Thank you for that, Laoshi!! I appreciate you.
Thanks sifu! More of this please!!! I practis bajiquan almost 3 years since now, and, what a coincidence, started with hung gar 2 month ago. Cheers from argentina, hope you upload more applications
Excellent video with beautiful movement. Reminds me of techniques I have seen in Karate, Silat and Krav Maga - but from a different perspective. Thank you so much for sharing.
Silat is truly a watered down Kung Fu system as well as Karate. Krav Maga combined mostly Japanese Karate and Aikido principles together along with kickboxing as well. Better to stick with Shaolin Kung Fu as it has clear form and to me is more efficient. If you see this guy does everything so effortlessly. What he’s demonstrating is not easy at all.
You are an awesome teacher!! You make sense of these traditional styles/techniques in this modern era. I've trained in Hung Gar Kuen and been involved with many teachers. This is the best and closest I've seen to the style being pragmatic and useful in MMA and real life combat with the exception of the double arm grab. I don't get why and when or how often someone would grab your arms and at that area?
Great videos and fluid movements. It’s clear you use students who are young to demonstrate on and sometimes with a lot of force. Myself being over 55 years of age and not as strong and flexible as you, what would you suggest to get into this fighting conditions, if possible could you do a video for the older generations. Thanks and keep up the videos.
As a new Wing Chun practitioner i am suprised by the techniques from other gung fu styles i always knew they all(atleast most of them) are effective when aplied and trained correctly. I am glad to see also the power of hung gar thank you shifu.
Kung Fu fascinates me because I did ITF Taekwondo in high school and this is a completely different philosophy and different movements. I like how Kung Fu seems to emphasize hands more because I never had the leg control or flexiblity to do some of the advanced kicking techniques in TKD. Sifu, is Hung Gar practiced at the Shaolin Temple? On their web site it sounds like they only use Sanda for sparring...I would want to learn how to spar using the traditional movements, especially from a style of Kung Fu that emphasizes hands and uses few kicks. :)
Amazing!!! Where do you live and train sir? And where did you take the training? I always believed Krav manga to be the best martial art for street combats but the way you are showing kung fu skills is mind blowing.
