- The United States and China publicly rebuked each other in the first face-to-face talks between senior officials from the two countries since Joe Biden took office. Representatives from the two countries met in Alaska where a highly unusual extended back-and-forth in front of the cameras took place when US secretary of state Antony Blinken and national security adviser Jake Sullivan opened their meeting with China’s top diplomat Yang Jiechi and State Councilor Wang Yi. Blinken pointed out "deep concerns" over China's actions relating to "Xinjiang, Hong Kong, Taiwan, cyber attacks on the United States, economic coercion of our allies". Yang responded with a 15-minute speech in Chinese lashing out out at what he called a struggling democracy in the US, poor treatment of minorities and foreign and trade policies

Ever since nation states exist, there have been hegemons. Just like there were since the beginning of history. Is UA-cam available in china. You Chinese must be using vpn.
@@sagarvishal8320 哈哈哈哈哈,那是你油管不接受中国的法律,不是中国禁止他。哈哈哈哈

@@dawleylu I guess the reasons are cyber security and economy. Just like Trump did to Huawei and TikTok.
@@dawleylu The US government uses national security excuses to ban Huawei, WeChat and others even when all these companies have met the US requirements. UA-cam was banned because the company refused to follow Chinese laws, such as putting the server of China site in China so that the data would not be used by the US government to hurt Chinese.

wow, one of the first countries to stand up to US bravo
China did a lot better, bringing in a staffer with purple hair such a faux pas.
I wish China said this in the last administration and not as we are recovering from the fallout. That being said China slammed US and US deserved it.
This is what happened: Blinken set a trap and wait for Chinese to fall-in by following his topic like 'Japan, S.Korea, Xingjiang, HK..", but Yang just jumped over the traps and slapped on his face by giving a 16-minutes talking in much higher-level...
Hey dude, u juz point out the most interesting part of the talks!!!!
They are just being polite in normal Chinese fashion but there is no respect in that room
Respect the US warmonger? Only coward like Japan does, not China!
Regarding The USA, many countries are afraid of... But they don't respect this country that has been in wars for almost 230 years out of 245 years existence !
Nobody respects America, at least not in continental Europe. Maybe in wannabe British failed empire they do I don’t now.
@@DavidGonzalez-ff6yk - Britain voluntarily gave up its empire, which just to remind you, was probably the biggest the world has ever known. It continues to wield benign “soft power” far above its relative size. As for “wannabe” status, sure it has ambitions to expand its trading power beyond the former constraints imposed by EU membership.

The way you treat your black people and Asian American is just as bad.. so should China interfere with your treatment of your own people and make it a condition for trade too?
You've been watching too much CNN again.
@@randychristensen7173 You have clearly have zero objective perspective on the matter.
It's like a man with a loaded gun commenting that an unarmed man has nothing to fear from him.
Depending on what kind of person the armed man is that might be true.
But given the range of the human condition even an optimistic person has to admit that people with an advantage over others will tend to take it when they can - whether doing so is immoral or not.
I am American but have always been disgusted by the deep chauvinism and arrogance displayed by successive representatives of our governments. I am delighted to hear this much deserved "knocking us from our pedestal" critique by the Chinese. It's well deserved.
It seems that Mr Sullivan feels very uncomfortable with Blinken creepy stare
"US has no qualification to say it wants to speak to China from a position of strength"
Bam! Take that you hegemon!
When it comes to full version videos, CNN&BBC suddenly shut their mouths up.
Rules based international order should extend to the illegal invasion of countries, however America seems to forget about their ‘mistakes’ while simultaneously accusing others of similar, or smaller ones. The world is a much different place today, and the international order is being reshaped. This is an overwhelmingly positive step, as no country should have unilateral power to act as it decides. Due consideration should be given to all countries. And countries should work together to tackle the most pressing issues such as poverty, response to COVID-19, climate change, electrification, and so on.
It's incredible that you understood this. I lost all my respect for america when read book about the cia.
Notice how the always say rules based international order and not "international law?" It's because one is a meaningless term that just means do as we say and the other is a set of legal rules agreed on by international courts. If the west said the later they'd be opening themselves up to attack because they violate international law more than any other country or block by far.

1. Denial 2. Anger 3. Bargaining 4. Depression 5. Acceptance. This is the five stages on U.S. begins flurry of Asia diplomacy. Correct me if I am wrong.
This was all smoke screen if you understand politics. US has the present itself as the light of democracy and freedom so they have to bring up HK, XJ and Taiwan issues. Otherwise there'd be domestic outrage. They also understand that "face" is very important for China and for most Asian countries,so they also left room for China to rebuke and present itself as a strong counterpart for uncle Sam. My uncle used to work in diplomacy and he told me that almost always things have already been agreed upon and discussed ahead of time when it comes to meetings between major countries. Everything else is business as usual behind the scene
I don’t have an uncle like that but this one instance doesn’t feel much “prepped” to me. I guess I will never know for sure.
@@kickyadick there's a reason why this was broadcasted in front of cameras. Both countries have one thing in common and that's a difficult domestic population to manage lolol
what you said sounds very plausible but the USA officials at one point wanted to say something off camera and asked the media to leave. The Chinese told the media to stay and said that the USA side should obey their own democratic laws and allow the people to watch the full meeting rather than trying to manipulate/hide info.
