I carried a Hunter when I was in the service and now when hiking/camping. Looking at the current models and wish I could pick my own blades/tools..if I get the ones I want then I get a few I don't want

Yea I’d get the big and small blades and a file and bottle opener mainly just because of the flat end I end up using it a lot sighting in scopes and stuff

My personal favorite for the price is the field master. I use it for working on the farm and I can’t tell you how helpful it has been. The saw is fantastic for cutting thick twine and small branches and the scissors are strong enough to cut thin electric fence wires.
I had the super tinker for years. Absolutely loved it. Still have it as a reserve today. But last year I upgraded to the strait blade one handed trekker and it's an absolute beast! It's hard to pick one favorite since there is one model for every occasion, so I'll go with a sentimental reason. The Swiss Champ that my father gave me in 1988.
I have carried a Swiss Champ for 44 years and have about 20 other models in my collection every jacket and coat has one in a pocket so I never leave home without at least a 3 layer blade in my pocket. I have never had one let me down and when I did drop one once it was so easy to send it back to get the scales replaced the customer service is wonderful. That was a great Vid just as I expect from someone who is talking about great knives..

Excellent video, congratulations. My favorite one is the “Bantam” because it is really thin, very easy to carry it into the pocket. It has the multifunctional tool and the blade. Perfect to carry when you go to a BBQ with friends, possible to cut meat and open beers...
The farmer is my favourite. I love the outdoors and it is what I pack for the outdoors. It fits in my pocket easily for EDC use too and so it is with me everyday for the last 4 years.
My favorite is the Victorinox Camper, (which hits all of my tool sweet spots, with the knot-opening, screwdrive-holding, pin-retaining corkscrew.) That said I usually leave it in my briefcase and carry a classic Red Spartan in my pocket. The Pioneer may be the descendant of the first military contract, but the Spartan is the modern version of the original Officer's Knife that soldiers brought home from the World Wars. It made Victorinox knives desirable and famous outside of Switzerland!
I, my Mom and my Sister bought Victorinox Swiss Army Knives CyberTool for Christmas in 2019. The multiple screw heads it comes with is so handy in this day and age.
Great review. I've been using swiss army knives for many years. For my purposes (construction work and camping as well as every day carry) I've found that nothing beats the Huntsman.
I'd be tempted to pick the Tinker. It has every tool I'd ever need and it was my first SAK, but the everyday use simplicity of the Classic makes it my pick.
Well done, David! Steve Jennings here. Concise, clear, professional presentation. I carried a Tinker from 1969 until just a few years ago, when I discovered the Hiker which is the Tinker with an added saw blade. I carry a Farmer when I head to the woods.
This guy is the absolute best spokesman I have seen. Perfect voice and comfortable style that puts you at ease and makes you feel like a friend. I have a few Pioneer Xs
Yes man!!! I also EDC the S18. It has all the features I need, even more. I love it! But mine is Wenger, not Victorinox. Edit: Now I EDC the Compact. I can't even compare it to the S18. It's way thinner but it has everything I need. The best SAK for EDC.
I also have a s18 which is red and black and a wenger version i bought it in switzerland and it’s my every day knife I bought a second one before wenger went out of business it’s in its box as new
I’ve carried my Tinker almost every day for 30 years. Still razor sharp with an occasional hone, and still has the original toothpick and tweezers. My Boker Kalashnikovs do most of my day to day utility work, but my Tinker gets used a lot also, especially the Phillips head screwdriver. Never leave home without both knives.
Love these knives. I've got 4 huntsman's, one I've had for about 30 yrs. Also have a couple Spartans, a Tinker, couple SDs, and a Cybertool M but the Huntsman is like an old friend.
As long as you don't abuse them. My oldest Huntsman is a little rough due to me abusing it when I was a kid. Don't use it for prying and find a good sharpening method and it will last a long time.
They are good knives but like anything you gotta take care of them. I recommend stone sharpening as anything with an electric motor tends to remove too much material. Electric sharpeners greatly reduce the lifespan of knives in my opinion. I love these, I still carry my compact every day.
I love the Victorinox knifes since I was a little kid. The where kind of pricey at this times , especially as a kids knife- but on my 5th birthday I got one from my beloved grandpa! Man this was a big day! Now I’m 40 and still got this knife- I had used it for over 15 years and it never left my climbing Rucksack. Now this „camper“ just sits in my knife collection, always remembering me on my beloved granddad. U just have to love them!
@@ejkalegal3145 cause he was a wise man that thought me how to use a knife and how to avoid getting hurt using it. He spend a LOT of time with me whittling, cutting apples, bread and ropes . It was a true heart gift and the main gift wasn’t the knife I realized now that my own kids are getting bigger and bigger . It was the time he spent with me , telling me how to be carefull with this tool. ( and for ur better understanding- I wasn’t allowed to use the knife when I was alone, i wasn’t allowed to carry it when I was out with my friends or so - I just got it from my parents when is was with them or my granddad)
The Explorer Model is IMO the most practical . It has enough features without being too big to carry in your pocket . I gave someone a Champion Model years ago before he left on a cruise to the British Isles . He used every tool on the knife during his trip including the saw and magnifying glass . I've given countless Classic Models as gifts to women and one time a woman I dated spotted an identical knife to the one I gave her on another woman friend's keychain ( Uh oh ! ) . My first Explorer Model served me for 28 years as a pry bar, paper weight, scraper, etcher, paint can opener, puller, hammer ( Don't try this at home, kids ! ) , measure and more . I also used it in its intended functions . I offered to make an ad for Victorinox but they turned me down because they don't normally use testimonial ads ??????? If I misplace my Swiss Army Knife, I lose all of my magical powers and turn back into a mere mortal .
I've got the Champ model. Best one ever. An ex girlfriend's parents gave it to me as a birthday present about 15 years ago. Still got it, it's my edc, and I never leave home without it. And like your friend, I've used every tool that's in it.
I’ve still got my camper from when I was on holiday with mam n dad in Switzerland. We drove from England to tour Europe in 1980. 43 year old now & never faulted. Still got the tweezers & toothpick. Love them. 👍🏆
The Trekker is my favorite. Perfect features for what I’m looking for. Also, extremely well done video! Your script is interesting, concise, and has good variety of descriptors. So many knife videos are repetitive and poorly scripted. Well done! Great delivery too!
My favorites are: - The Deluxe Tinker: My personal EDC for about 5 years, it's compact enough to carry in a pouch and has the three tools that I use almost daily: the scissors, the phillips screwdriver, and the very underrated pliers. - The Tinker Small: Basically the tiny version of my Deluxe. Although the 84 mm format is only slightly shorter than a regular 91mm Victorinox, it makes a quite a difference when you carry it in your pocket. - The Bantam Alox: Not only it's gorgeous to look at, but it's so slim that it fits inside my wallet! The combo tool is quite useful. I carry it wherever a full-size knife is not discrete enough. - The Outrider: The best knife in the 111mm range and the best knife for hiking or any outdoor activity. The locking blade is great for more heavy duty woodwork. - The Rambler: A perfect keychain knife for people who don't want to carry a knife! I've gifted this one countless times.
I really, really like the SwissChamp... Would've been nice to see it here Great list though! Im new to swiss army knives so when i start my collection I'll be sure to get something from here!
Been around Swiss Army Knives since I was a kid, however a 2018 knife model which is amazing is the Silver Hunter Pro Alox, which is the first Swiss Knife which is large, is a one handed opening and with a deep carry pocket clip. The quality is superb! I carry it everyday
@@fridericusrex9812 you wont be dissapointed I can tell you this, very good Steel (Victorinox actually sent me an email in detail about that since I asked), one handed opening, deep carry clip and very robust and strong. And of course it s Victorinox :) it s my daily carry now
I bought my SAK back in the mid 90's. I didn't remember what it was called so I went to the official website and it turned out to be a red Spartan (the Tourist has the same 12 functions but is a bit smaller). Obviously the pen dried up a long time ago but everything else still works as if it was new. Awesome tool.
My favorite Victorinox is the Farmer. The knife has the history going back to the soldier model, has more heavy duty construction, thicker blade, the best awl in the business and the cool factor with those Alox Scales is off the charts. In the outdoors it is a remarkably capable tool in a very small package. My first experience with Victorinox dates back to the 60's, with my father's red Victorinox purchased in the early 50's. I must have cut myself a hundred times growing up with that knife, but it sparked an interest and love of Victorinox products that continues to this day.
I personally love my 2 Champs (one red and the other translucent green), A translucent blue Cybertool, and a translucent red TSA approved with a flashdrive on it. The last two I use at work all the time as well as one of the champs.
The Cybertool 34, and similar models deserve being mentioned. They're one of the only models with a bit screwdriver and bit holders that hold double sided bits for a total of 8 tips plus the others you find on the other tools. They also include pliers, scissors, a pen, and more.
I've carried a Cybertool 34 for 28 years now. It's great. Another one that I think deserves a mention is the midnight manager. My wife carries that, since it's the smallest knife, flashlight, pen combo there is.
I am of Swiss heritage so I especially love my little Swiss Army Knife. I have had different versions of it thru the years. The toothpick is very useful, The knife and scissors are great for arts and crafts and the little tweezers and nailfile are awesome for grooming.
My favorite knife is the Pioneer. Great video, by the way :) Just two small comments: 1. The Compact comes with a pin by default, but most people don't know that most of the 84 / 91 mm Cellidor knives come with scales that have the hole for the pin, it's just not included out of the box. But you can steal one from the sewing kit of your mom/wife etc. :) 2. Try to put the Compact's pen under the hook instead of the cork screw. It's much firmer.
@@kylethedalek Both are great. Usually I prefer the Pioneer because it's lighter and I hardly ever need a saw. But when I go to places where I'm likely to need one, I take a Farmer. The Pioneer X is a very good knife as well, more useful in an urban environment. Most of the time, the scissors on my Classic are enough for me, but if I could only have one knife on me, it would be the X. For example, that's what I take when I travel.
I have three for three different reasons. (1) Alox Farmer (in pocket) for processing wood for my twig stove, my "dirty" knife. (2) Waiter (in cook-kit) for opening food, bottles, and a clean blade to slice meat. (3) Classic SD (in med-kit) scissors for Zinc-Oxide tape & bandage cutting, for foot maintenance, nail cuttings, blisters, etc.
Yes I agree as a kid they were really cool ! As a adult I everyday carried a Leatherman Wave for a couple of reasons 1 I oversaw a construction company 2 I was a avid Fisherman / Boat Owner on a boat you need fast access to a sharp knife and all the other tools came in handy for repairs and other chores onboard Leatherman over Gerber just a personal preference and I honestly preferred Leathermans leather snapped sheath that fit neatly next to my cell phone on my belt and sort of blended in I also really liked the small scissors I used way more than I ever thought I would
@Ginsung yes. I don't necessarily use the clippers every day, but the scissors, toothpick, knife, and fingernail cleaner, yes. Everyday. And the nail clippers come in handy 2-4 times per week for hangnails, trimming fingernails, etc. VERY nice to have on you.
Ive had a Classic SD for a year or so and use it at least daily. The scissors are good for candy wrappers and tape. The file is good for corroded electrical plugs and long fingernails. The tweezers are good for picking up small dropped items without worrying about bacteria-laden dirt under my fingernails. The knife is handy when the scissors aren't sharp enough. The screwdriver is good for some weaker screws. I've never used the toothpick but Im looking forward to it. I also keep a 2" rechargable flashlight in my pocket. I am confident. I am prepared!
My grandfather LOVED the SD’s he liked the portability and the usefulness, he even took to the habit of collecting some. He’s gone but I still have the dark Blue SD on my keychain, the the awesome Mr.Peanut silver print on it.
The Cadet is my favorite. The nail file is a great tool, not just for nails but also as a substitute marlinspike for undoing knots. A bottle opener is also never out of place. Finally, the blade on the Cadet is a good size for doing significant cutting while still small enough to make a compact tool to slip in your pocket.
I love my Spartan, but my Evolution 23 has everything I need for extended outdoor trips, including a magnifying glass that is perfect for my old eyes! You can’t beat these knives for the amount of functionality you get in a small package.
Had my Huntsman 7 years. Scales are a bit battered and scratched but the blades sharpens quickly and everything os so useful. Definitely worth what they cost and more. It’s one of my favourite posessions.
All good choices. Would personally skip the Midnight Champ as I prefer wearing a head torch if I need illumination instead of having an LED light attached to the knife. My personal favorite not mentioned here is the Huntsman model though.
WHAT? no swiss champ even mentioned! i been using the swiss champion for more than 40 years, has all the tools, wore out 2 and just bought my 3rd, used with my 6" sheath knife and a rock for a hammer i can craft just about anything, the champion is the CHAMPION, for me at least, nice video and thanks for sharing
I’m rocking a Classic my grandfather bought in the 1970’s on my keychain still. Blade is sharp, file works great and I still use the scissors a few times a week to trim my mustache. For something he paid like $7 for close to 50 years ago.. not too shabby. Only major maintenance I did was clean the interior up with isopropyl and q-tips, then coated it all in Tuf-Glide and let it dry on over a weekend before wiping it all down. I hope to use it til I croak.
All good stuff. I especially appreciated the little snippet about mounting the ballpoint pen under the corkscrew. You might want to add a similar tidbit on the use of the wire stripper. It took me literally years to discover the intended way to strip the plastic coating from a wire, using the notch and main blade.
Hey im from Switzerland. The knifes are just pocket knifes not army knifes. The silver one is the only army knife but the video has good quality and I like it. Schöns Video mir gfalts und es isch au professionell gmacht 👍🏻
Nicola, Victorinox can legally call all of its knives "Swiss Army Knives". Other Swiss companies, such as Swiza, cannot. Of course that this is widely used commercially, especially because the "Soldier" model is currently the only model issued to the Swiss Army. However, Victorinox makes a lot of money by selling the (true) story that its knives were once issued to the Swiss Army (and to this day, one model still is) that they can legally call all of them "Swiss Army Knives".
The Trekker is also very similar to the modern standard issue. My standard issue Soldier is from 2009 though. | Regardless, these have been popular in more Western markets (i.e., the US) for a long time (many decades) as "Swiss Army Knives." The actual company names have been much less well known, at least until more recently.

@@WR3ND : That's true. Victorinox has marketed itself in North America as the makers of the "Swiss Army Knife", which seems to be more appealing to consumers. I'm sure that the more aficcionado ones know that SAK means Victorinox and Victorinox means SAK but perhaps the general public does not.
I never gave SAK a second look as an adult and then I got a SAK Ranger 78. Easily my favorite tool right next to my Esee's. It is so versatile and the one handed locked blade is great.
Hi there from switzerland! Nice to see such a passion around those knifes. The farmer was the official army knife back in the days while i was doing my army service in 2001. man i loved that knife! Some cadets came to visit us from russia one day, all of them wanted to change stuff, of course all of them wished to get our army knifes. They offered me several badges but i wanted more :) so i got an old golden soviet belt buckle with the hammer and sickle on it. haha delicious memories. The farmer has been replaced since years, not sure how the new one is called exactly. Greetings to the world from switzerland!🤙
I like the Waiter. Thin but good sized blade, combo can/bottle opener, corkscrew too. Very lightweight. Great for minimal kit. Had to look a while till I found one.
These knives are the best things to have around and everyone carries one at all times.. I got my first when I was 5 in my tackle box, but it could only be used when we were our fishing. Once I hit high school I started carrying one of the Classic SD with me at all times because you never know when you might need it for something. Funny story time. One year at Valentines Day Mom's coworkers were talking about what their SOs gotten them. Mom proudly whipped out her new navy blue Classic SD. They were giving her looks of sympathy until she told them it was exactly what she wanted.
They had a few left handed models but their tools were inferior. The scissors were not as good and the magnifying glass though made of real glass was not as good as the plastic one on the Victorinox.
I love Victorinox kit! At the moment I have the Forester model, ideal for my photography and camping trips. A superb tool from the best in the business!
My ex-husband was in the South African Army and came home one day around 1986 with two Pioneers. They cost him R3.65 each. I still have mine and use it at least once a week. The can opener is unbeatable.
In my opinion the Swiss champ is by far the best. I’ve had various Victorinox for the past 50 years and always have one on me. I’d feel incomplete without one. I’ve given one to each of my family members.
I am a knife obsessive and have about six or seven SAKs that I draw upon. I carry the same model the presenter carries daily, and I have found the Army issue with the full serrated blade to be exceptionally useful around the house as well as for camping. Extreme example: Cutting and deboning a chicken I was stymied by something. Maybe my ignorance of chicken anatomy. The poultry shears didn't cut it but the army issue knife made short work. Also, I have the single-blade gardener's pruning knife, a beautiful thing. I use it every day to open mail and cut up envelopes for shopping lists and other bits. I am extremely loyal to several marques: Patagonia, which needs no introduction; Tretorn, the inventor of the modern 'tennis shoe' and a source of outstanding casual footwear, and Victorinox/ Wenger. Life is good.
Congratulations to Kevin Wiliams for winning the Knife Center Exclusive Swiss Army Pioneer. Keep your eyes peeled for the next KnifeCenter Giveaway.

I used to love the tinker. The last few years my favorite has been the huntsman. My next one will be a one hand trekker
Why on earth would your granddad give a KNIFE to a 5 year old??
@@dr.seppjausen9778 That's nice, he loved you very much. Blessings and love to our grandads!!
The Tinker is my favorite. Great second blade for whittling.
I totally agree, strong and sturdy model. Had mine for 20+ years and still works great
huntsman is my favorite. i own about 6 of them. i have 3 different swisschamps, but i still like the huntsman.
Yes.
The Swiss Huntsman is one of the Best Swiss Army knives!!
I agree. I love my Huntsman.
And I doubt you've hardly opened a single tool on them....
I have a huge 7 layer Champion but my favorite is my Climber I bought in southern Switzerland in 1981!
I have a drawer full of swiss knives and you are like Satan tempting me to buy a new one !
"Buying just one more knife won't be a big deal. It's just one. Go, buy it. Buy it..." 😈👽👻🧟🦇
Ronin T 😂 I know the feeling.. 😂 😎
Jesus died for you. What? He never said he stole anything?
Hahaha, same here, I have spent more time watching knife videos than watching porn for some weird reasons.
😂😂😂
My favorite Swiss Army knife would be the Tinker and a very close second would be the Super Tinker.
03 Aug 2019 - Thank you! You gave very clear detailed descriptions of each knife. You are a prepared fantastic speaker.
I’ve still got my camper from when I was on holiday with mam n dad in Switzerland. We drove from England to tour Europe in 1980. 43 year old now & never faulted. Still got the tweezers & toothpick. Love them. 👍🏆
Currently my favorite is the Explorer. It has such a wide range of tools in a fairly compact package, including the inline phillips driver.
My favourite is the explorer. It has the mix of tools I use the most including the magnifying glass. I lost one once but immediately replaced it.
The Trekker is my favorite. Perfect features for what I’m looking for. Also, extremely well done video! Your script is interesting, concise, and has good variety of descriptors. So many knife videos are repetitive and poorly scripted. Well done! Great delivery too!
@@davef3179 Trekker for the win! Cant live without my trekker!
@@oetzi022 did they discontinue the non-serrated version?? I can't find a plain edge Trekker anywhere. If so that's a real shame
i love the ranger grip 78. i use it for bushcrafting and camping all the time and its never let me down
My favorites are:
- The Deluxe Tinker: My personal EDC for about 5 years, it's compact enough to carry in a pouch and has the three tools that I use almost daily: the scissors, the phillips screwdriver, and the very underrated pliers.
Would've been nice to see it here
Great list though! Im new to swiss army knives so when i start my collection I'll be sure to get something from here!
Swiss champ king!!
Agreed. I carry one with me for years. (Black version) And it came in handy more times than I can count. Especially when traveling abroad.
I love the tinker have one with me for over 25 years, it has never let me down, always there to save the day
Been around Swiss Army Knives since I was a kid, however a 2018 knife model which is amazing is the Silver Hunter Pro Alox, which is the first Swiss Knife which is large, is a one handed opening and with a deep carry pocket clip. The quality is superb! I carry it everyday
ninjamalta I really want to get a hunter pro alox
@@fridericusrex9812 you wont be dissapointed I can tell you this, very good Steel (Victorinox actually sent me an email in detail about that since I asked), one handed opening, deep carry clip and very robust and strong. And of course it s Victorinox :) it s my daily carry now
Thanks. Excellent overview. I've carried Victorinox Swiss Army knives for 40 years and it is cool to see the variety that is out there.
My husband uses one every day. When he worked as a plumber. Also now in the medical field. Thanks Victorinox.
Been collecting Victorinox for years. Love the old Champions
The sak climber is my favorite!
Swiss ranger is the best in my opinion in-between the smaller and larger I love that one
Great video, by the way :)
Just two small comments:
1. The Compact comes with a pin by default, but most people don't know that most of the 84 / 91 mm Cellidor knives come with scales that have the hole for the pin, it's just not included out of the box. But you can steal one from the sewing kit of your mom/wife etc. :)
2. Try to put the Compact's pen under the hook instead of the cork screw. It's much firmer.
miklospinter I’m torn between the Pioneer and Farmer.
For a little bit more you get an extra tool.
For example, that's what I take when I travel.
miklospinter they should make all their knives with Alox scales.
But then you lose the options with plastic scales with the extra tools.
As a adult I everyday carried a Leatherman Wave for a couple of reasons 1 I oversaw a construction company 2 I was a avid Fisherman / Boat Owner on a boat you need fast access to a sharp knife and all the other tools came in handy for repairs and other chores onboard Leatherman over Gerber just a personal preference and I honestly preferred Leathermans leather snapped sheath that fit neatly next to my cell phone on my belt and sort of blended in I also really liked the small scissors I used way more than I ever thought I would
My favorite is the one I've been using for a few years: Evogrip s18. Super useful!
My favorite would be the Pioneer X. Great selection of tools. The addition of the scissors makes it great for EDC.
My favorite is the nail clip. It is SO underrated and no one ever talks about it. I love mine and it comes in so handy every day.
The Alox Farmer! I take it with me everywhere.
My grandfather LOVED the SD’s he liked the portability and the usefulness, he even took to the habit of collecting some. He’s gone but I still have the dark Blue SD on my keychain, the the awesome Mr.Peanut silver print on it.
I love My Victorinox. I have the "Officers" knife and a Tinker. If you don't have a Swiss Army/Victorinox knife, you should!
The Fieldmaster model should be included in any best of list for SAKs.
That's my number 1
All good choices. Would personally skip the Midnight Champ as I prefer wearing a head torch if I need illumination instead of having an LED light attached to the knife. My personal favorite not mentioned here is the Huntsman model though.
Victoria: daughter of the founder. Inox: stainless steel.
No.
The mother, Victoria...
WHAT? no swiss champ even mentioned! i been using the swiss champion for more than 40 years, has all the tools, wore out 2 and just bought my 3rd, used with my 6" sheath knife and a rock for a hammer i can craft just about anything, the champion is the CHAMPION, for me at least, nice video and thanks for sharing
such a profesional presentation👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I’m rocking a Classic my grandfather bought in the 1970’s on my keychain still. Blade is sharp, file works great and I still use the scissors a few times a week to trim my mustache.
For something he paid like $7 for close to 50 years ago.. not too shabby.
Only major maintenance I did was clean the interior up with isopropyl and q-tips, then coated it all in Tuf-Glide and let it dry on over a weekend before wiping it all down.
I hope to use it til I croak.
Favorite Swiss Army knife is the Equestrian close 2nd is the classic Sd
All good stuff. I especially appreciated the little snippet about mounting the ballpoint pen under the corkscrew. You might want to add a similar tidbit on the use of the wire stripper. It took me literally years to discover the intended way to strip the plastic coating from a wire, using the notch and main blade.
My current favorite is the Fieldmaster. I really hope I win that Knife Center exclusive Pioneer X :-)
I have many, both victorinox & Wenger. They are all first rate. Been carrying one for 50 years. Great vid👍!!
@@bird1962: Je suis d'accord. Je préfère également les modèles avec un plus grand nombre d'outils, c'est l'idée derrière un couteau suisse.
I never gave SAK a second look as an adult and then I got a SAK Ranger 78. Easily my favorite tool right next to my Esee's. It is so versatile and the one handed locked blade is great.
Recently acquired one my self. Good knife.
The camper is one of my personal favourites shame it wasn’t here

Hi there from switzerland! Nice to see such a passion around those knifes. The farmer was the official army knife back in the days while i was doing my army service in 2001. man i loved that knife! Some cadets came to visit us from russia one day, all of them wanted to change stuff, of course all of them wished to get our army knifes. They offered me several badges but i wanted more :) so i got an old golden soviet belt buckle with the hammer and sickle on it. haha delicious memories. The farmer has been replaced since years, not sure how the new one is called exactly.
Greetings to the world from switzerland!🤙
Great vid! Makes me feel less crazy to see a review by someone as crazy for blades as me,gotta get a red alox
In 1983 I bought a Wenger Swiss Army Knife that looks just like the Pioneer. It is still one of my favorite knives. Very durable.
You'd think that with so much utility he'd find a nail clipper
That cadet is definitely my style!
My late mother-in-law law gave me a fisherman Swiss Army knife for Xmas 1978, I still have & I carry where ever I go.
My favourite is the super tinker and yes I would like a pioneer x.
I like the Waiter. Thin but good sized blade, combo can/bottle opener, corkscrew too.
Very lightweight. Great for minimal kit. Had to look a while till I found one.
Alas none, ever, had a left handed pair of scissors on them.
I have classic, SD, Super Champ and Swiss Card.
well actually I'm left handed and always use a left handed pair of scissors..
@@xjesuslovescats On Victorinox pocket knives?
These knives are the best things to have around and everyone carries one at all times.. I got my first when I was 5 in my tackle box, but it could only be used when we were our fishing. Once I hit high school I started carrying one of the Classic SD with me at all times because you never know when you might need it for something. Funny story time. One year at Valentines Day Mom's coworkers were talking about what their SOs gotten them. Mom proudly whipped out her new navy blue Classic SD. They were giving her looks of sympathy until she told them it was exactly what she wanted.
Wenger manufactured superior features in their knives.
Agreed. I always preferred the tools on Wenger knives to Victorinox. They felt more thought through and useful than the Victorinox style tools.
But inferior quality.
@@stuartmcmillan8076 I think wenger quality was at least as good. I'm sure that's why victorinox bought them out and stopped making the models!
Had a better can opener on them too.😁
They had a few left handed models but their tools were inferior. The scissors were not as good and the magnifying glass though made of real glass was not as good as the plastic one on the Victorinox.
We had a pioneer version as standard knife in the army in the 80’s. I still have it
Been using Victorinox saks for over 30 years. My favorite is the Fieldmaster.
