These aren't sub-genres, they're scenes. And there are way more than those, you neglected Finnish bands, Ukrainian ones and a bunch of other BM scenes.
Sinc nintendocore is on here, maybe the elusive touhou metal could be added too. I'm not a fan of the game or the official style the characters are drawn in but I'm a fan of crow'sclaw's musical contributions.
Hey thanks for all the work you put into these series on rock and metal genres! It's helping me understand more about them, even though metal is definitely not my thing😅
I love the band Mesarthim, where would they fit I wonder? I think of them as Cosmic (black) metal. I guess they'd come under atmospheric black metal. You can just lose yourself in their stuff, it's amazing...
Cosmic black metal is more focused on dissonance and alien vibes, much like aliencore and cosmic death metal, there are differences between the former and atmospheric black metal.
Great video... Although, I'm about halfway through and the ONLY sub-genre that I've REMOTELY cared for is "Death N Roll", lol... Also, I'm a guitarist, and I figured I'd mention that the Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal pedal, usually with ALL the controls CRANKED is widely known as "The Swedish Chainsaw", lol...
I'm 1 minute and 38 seconds in and she's got more wrong than right so far. If you are new to metal and want to learn about it for real go to this guy: ua-cam.com/video/7Z4vhMvLhCI/v-deo.html
I wouldn't consider NSBM, RABM, or Unblack to be genres, just lyrical/aesthetic themes.
a lot of rabm have crust punk influences
An awful lot of work defining things that 98% of people who listen to music see as just evil or fringe noise. But I suppose the 2% need some love too.
Detailed work . May your channel keep growing
growling*
Most of these are more like sub-sub genres where there's very little difference between them but yeah, I get it.
Not at all. You just have to train your ear to them and you can easily identify the differences afterwards
The 3 main Black Metal sub-genres are:
1. Norwegian Black Metal
2. Swedish Black Metal
3. Greek Black Metal
The ones based on nationality aren't subgenres, they are more like waves
@@countessvillain That, and we're missing the Polish scene, which is one of the best BM scenes currently.

You forgot True Metal, performed by only one band; Manowar. \m/
And Murder Metal, performed by only one band as well - Macabre
That is for the part 1, they aren't extreme and don't belong here

You missed the first wave of black metal. Venom.. first albums of Bathory...
I could see how non metalheads could see this as all sounding the same. I love it all though 🤘🏻

Hopefully your next video has Indigenous Black Metal. I'm thinking Blackbraid or Pan-Amerkican Native Front.
has anyone downloaded All the Rock Genres explained in 15 minutes ?
CrustGrind, Blackened Crust, DeathCrust, Raw D-Beat, crust punk and whatever Dystopia are
Crossover thrash songs are too short that one song was fully performed in the example of this video.

Some shit black metal fans call themselves probably
Raw Black Metal, National Socialist Black Metal, Unblack Metal and Red Anarchist Black Metal aren't subgenres
Good video, although it was a bit painful to sit through all the awful core genres before the black metal part.
I have one thing to say:
You forgot Powerviolence
Powerviolence - is punk subgenre
You forgot Nu Metalcore and Nu Deathcore
