    Tony Todd is such a good actor

    • @Bluesit32
      @Bluesit32 Рік тому +4

      Director Tom Savini said that it was a no brainer. Tony read the script, memorized it, and did the lines for the audition. He was even able to tear up at will. He got the part then and there.

    1:16 is so well done. It's so anxiety inducing, feeling as if u are Ben injured and struggling to find a safe place as hoardes of the undead are coming through rapidly.

    With how ineffectual the zombies were in this movie, it really is a wonder they ever killed anyone, let alone spread so rapidly

      the 80s ppl was not so smart when it came to this

    • @Bluesit32
      @Bluesit32 Рік тому +15

      Well, it spread because anyone that died came back, hence the advanced state of decay for some of them. As for them being ineffectual, that was Barbara's point. They were slow. She was able to basically walk around them without firing a shot when she fled the house. It was being in the house that made them dangerous. They can swarm in, forming a wall between anyone and the exits.

    • @lordgargamel4124
      @lordgargamel4124 Рік тому +3

      The reason it spread rapidly is discovered later i. The sequels. Originally no one knew why it happened. ( that was the intention ). In the sequels however is was revealed to that the government was the cause and they used an experimental gas ( AKA Zombie gas ) that was meant to bring soldiers back to life. A bio weapons experiment. The first movie is related to the first attempt. So it was controlled. Thats how it spread so quick. As for the original story. It just did alot of the horror back in the days was left to the imagination.

      @@lordgargamel4124 What are you talking about? There is no reason given. I've seen Night, Dawn, Day, Land, and Diary of the Dead and not once was there an explanation. Day of the Dead fully points this out, saying that not only do they not know, they're never going to know.

      He died alone, injured and losing blood from his fatal wounds by Cooper, in the darkness of the cellar, sitting on a chair. Listening to the radio of what’s happening in the outside world. Where he discovered the gas pump key…
      THE FRICKEN GAS PUMP KEY THAT WAS THERE THE WHOLE GODDAMM TIME!!!!
      The sight of the one thing that would have spared everyone from the bloodbath, the bickering, the lack of cooperation, the fighting amongst themselves and killing each other rather than fighting the hordes of the undead monsters had Ben be laughing, with the insanity, broken hope and despair that he died alone in the dark as the light slowly went out. As a result of Ben’s life fading away into the darkness.

    • @TheNotverysocial
      @TheNotverysocial 6 днів тому

      @@eduardosolis6383 Wrong. If you saw the scene that preceded this, Cooper would have murdered everyone anyway whether the pump exploded or not.
      In the '68 version that might not have happened, and they'd have stood a chance. Harry wasn't a murderer in the original film, but he is here.

    The cellar was strong enough to keep the Zombies out. They could have just went down to the cellar in the first place

      If you watched the movie, the point in both original and remake was to show how we as humans fail in organize ourselves in an effective way to survive during mayhem. This wasn't just a zombie horror movie, it was also a human psique study.

    • @zachariah1990
      @zachariah1990 9 місяців тому +9

      Not necessarily because say you do barricade yourself in down there you have no way out. The key would have been the attic because then you have high ground and they can’t reach you. You can always escape the attic but it’s more difficult to escape the cellar if they broke through.

    • @kimcornwall4246

      Yes the cellar did prove to be strong enough in the end. However, Ben was not prepared to box himself in there unless there was absolutely no other choice. Ben wanted to explore other options in order to have a better means of escape, but circumstances inevitably led him to the cellar, because in the end…there was…absolutely no choices left for him.

    At 1:46 all the way to 2:10 I wish this inspired to make a scene of an apocalyptic movie of where a pack of wolves, coyotes or feral dogs are eating on some burned corpses of humans that were slaughtered (unintentionally blown themselves by an accident or intentionally killed by their own fellow humans) and the main characters that see this would be disturbed, nauseous and pitiful of the sight.

    So how do these zombies work? I see these are the slowest but a little mire smarter than the average zombies. Do these zombies hunt by sound (based on the doll carrying zombie brushing shoulders with the woman and not grabbing her)

    They actually could've survived had they all went to the attic, they could've even took the t.v up there. Even in the 1960 version of this movie the farm house had an attic.
