Dude, I tried few different GFX cameras over the last few years but was never happy with the look, but now I know - adapting awesome lenses, this is the way.

Awesome video !! Appreciate your work, but I want to add a word of warning for Fuji shooters: I have M glass (Zeiss 21 F2.8, 35 F1.4, 50 F1.5, 85 F4 and Leica 50 F1.4 ASPH and 90 F2 III) and wanted to use it on Fuji X-T2 and X-T4. Your video looks at center sharpness, bokeh and vignetting, but not on corner sharpness. Let me tell you: All the mentioned M glass performs horribly on Fuji sensors (I used the original Fuji XM adapter). Center sharpness is good, but corners are not only soft, but smeared. With both cameras, with all lenses. So you might be OK with moody portraits, but forget sharp landscapes at F8. The cheapy ‘Fujicron’ 23 F2 or 35 F2 runs circles around the Leica Summilux 50 ASPH or the Zeiss Distagon 35 1.4, and both should blow these out of the water in theory. I bought a Leica SL2-S and they work perfectly. Allegedly Leica angles the corner microsites a bit inwards to accomodate M glass, and it shows. Just my 5 cents, thank you for all the work you do mate !!!
This is such a cool idea! I just got my Jupiter 200mm f4 vintage lens from the Soviet Union. I love adapting the old m42 lenses to my Zhongyi speedbooster on the xt3. I wonder how the 200mm would look on the GFX, which I haven't used yet. I actually really like some of those soft, dark corners from an artistic standpoint.

I've been experimenting with adapting lenses on my GFX100 and it is fun and often surprising what will work....and even if you have to crop a little, no big deal with the 100mp images. I"d been going the opposite way at first, using one of the Metabones speed boosters to utilizes the full image circle of the real medium format Hasselblad V series lenses and wow, that is fun. I've played with adapting my EF lenses with mixed success. But I now have to get a M adapter to try out the lens I bought for my M10M...... Thanks for the great video!! CC
Interesting comparison to include medium format - I would have expected greater vignetting from those lenses. On one of the 100MP models, I'm sure you could crop that out without much consequence.
Fun. Interesting. I use pentax a series and fax series with both gfx and fx. The FA 45-85 is as sharp as the GF 45-100 as far as I can tell and MUCH cheaper. I use it was tilt-shift adapters. I also use the Canon 40mm pancake. Which though it does vignette some is simply wonderful when used with square crop. In fact, I think the problem with the GFX and FX is the fact that so many lenses work well. Too many choices!!! I also use the canon 25mm TSE. Almost as good as as the gfx 23mm and more flexible. The Chinese lenses are certainly fun and serious competition for German and Japanese lenses. Very well presented review!!!
@@MrAlb3rtazzo the only autofocus adapter I have is for canon EF that I use with the Canon 85mm f1.8. The Pentax A series lenses are all manual focus. I have one FA 645 lens; only use it for manual focus. I do not know if there are adapters that work for 645 FA :: GFX.
Thinking about getting 907X or x1d. Is their a adapter for using M mount Voigtlander-Lanthar lens 65mm lens for the 907x ? Would that translate to 50mm on X1D? Wonder about the corners. I think I live near you I am in Sumner. I have a D-Lux 7 I bought at the local Leica store. Great for travel. Have you ever used one?
I have the Voigtlander 75mm f1.8 heliar classic, which does cover the full sensor pretty well (minor vignette in the corners, but easily correctable), the lens is not the sharpest, though the images with the combo are still worth the low cost (especially if you use it with a film leica too). Does anyone have the 75mm f1.5 to test with?
@min min if you crop them , you have to crop hard and then you will lost the energy of the photo which does not make any sense. Shooting at F1.4 with original perspective gives you that medium format look. Not the crop one.

This was extremely informative in my camera buying process. Currently feeling a little suffocated having 2 crop sensor cameras (Xtrans and M8). Next camera is definitely going to have a larger sensor 🤣 This was an amazing video. Thanks again

Great lens adapt to GFX is Voigtlander 58 1.4 - very small vignette and distortion. Cheap and tank :)

I think you should take the same size of the target object, so we can see more on the out-of-the focus area difference.
I made mistake len brand. on lens converter to 907x to should be L mount 65mm 2.8 Sigma lens. Any adapter L mount to x mount Hasselblad ?

On the GFX the color shift in the edges will be better on the newer GFX100 and 100s because their sensor is BSI.o

You said they covered very well but I think none of them covers the sensor. Corners look horrible even with corrections.
They cover the sensor as long as you don’t get hard corners IMO.

4433 isn't really that much bigger than full frame
It has %70 more surface than FF. It gives you the speed and best dynamic range at the same time.
None of them were as good as medium format lenses.
