It should work. I am concerned it doesn't have a cut off voltage on the esc. Both lithium batteries require cut off so they don't catch fire. I am going to modify mine with an esc for boats that I know has cut off. Then you can use 360 mah 7.4v drone batteries.
Have you ever used a 7.4 Lipo battery on the Wltoys 917? the jet boat comes with 7.4 Li-on. I looked but I didn't see anything saying yes or no!

Its super fun! Thinking of modding mine brushless and 7.4v 360 mah drone batteries.
The steering is not so good but the WL 917 is way more powerfull! The most fun i had on small rivers/brooks drive "up" the stream!
