What's the name of the mayor from The Wire?
Crime is not down. Crime rates look down on paper because people don't report crimes anymore. What's the point of reporting crime in places like NYC or Chicago or LA if nothing is done? People don't get arrested, and even if they do, they just get released almost immediately.
They keep cherry picking numbers to make themselves look good not showing the actual statistics

As a New Yorker I can tell you crime is down most New Yorkers can tell you we feel pretty much safe . Mental health issues are up doe . The only reason why perception of crime being on the rise in New York is because Fox News head quarters is in new York so they over report on crime over here. In reality New York City is safer most cities in USA . Crime is way higher in cali , Hurston Mimi , Atlanta but it’s not reported on as much .
