- Tim takes one of his popular models through the paces; creating a great collection of multiple looks in light and dark sets. This one is more than a behing-the-scenes video containing lots of illustrated instruction for those looking for these PORTRAIT insights.
Shot early 2023, it's THE LAST VIDEO using strobes and softboxes.
Now we use constant light and can still get our famous lighting and "look" using new LED lights and Level Up Imaging Light panel system.

In some videos you use a strobe hitting the ceiling for fill/bg although you have the 4x6 for same purpose, when do you use it and when not?
Hello, where can I buy that backdrop?
95% of my canvas and muslin backgrounds come from David Maheu. www.backgroundsbymaheu.com I've been collecting and designing originals with David for 30+ years.
@@TimKellysMasterPhotoTechniques Ill check that out! Thank you for your response. God bless!
With Larson now out of business, what do you use or recommend for your boxes, both large and medium?
I love your work, to me the photos are so graceful. Keep the videos coming.
Thank you.
Wonderful tutorial and the model is very elegant and beautiful!
A beautiful and talented model photographed by a talented portrait professional
Great. Classic Style, beautiful. Greetings from Germany
Always enjoy and appreciate watching you in action, Tim. Thanks for all you've taught us!

Thank you for showing us this lesson - it's always inspiring again.Greets Rainer
Sweet!! Good tips on photography and video work.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video!!!
Thanks for sharing!!!!
Thank you!
Awesome Tim and thank you. One question - it looked like you were using a large lens, like a 70-200, but you were also very close. When I do portraits, I normally use a prime and around the 50 - 85mm mark. May I ask for your reasoning in using a big zoom?
Excellent explanation! Do you use the bouncing video lights as an extra fill?
No, they are for the video .. for us not in the studio lighting.
Thanks!@@TimKellysMasterPhotoTechniques
