14:48 part of that layer sounds like a Roland Fantom XR patch called Control Room. He used that on the intro to ‘Money Talks’ on Rapture from the Deep. On the album intro you can hear a robot voice say “control”. Here it sounds like all the other layers of that sound without the voice. That’s got to be worth some nerd points!
That was Mozart - Rondo Alla Turka. If you want to hear nice Hammond stuff from him, check his solo albums, or live Deep Purple stuffs, like Lazy intro. He play it like a monster, specially on the video called Deep Purple live at NEC 2002. This year i saw purple 2 times live, Don was amazing.
Nick, thanks for sharing this and for the commentary. Don has become my favorite Hammond player, next to you, of course! I would love to see a keyboard lesson on Purple's "One Night In Vegas" from the inFinite album (esp. the piano bit near the end)! Would you consider doing that one, mate?
Saw Don Airey live with Deep Purple.
Loved his work with Ozzy... Sabbath (Never Say Die)... Gary Moore... Rainbow!
He's amazing.
