  • Welcome Bluudies, Today I finally get around to one of the bigger jobs thats been waiting for me, Installing 4 way stretch carpet inside my VW T5 Transporter campervan conversion. It makes such a huge difference and instantly makes the van feel more welcoming, plus it covers up all of the ply lining, silent coat sound deadening and the dodomat thermoliner. In this video i cover all the walls, arches, sliding door and the rear barn doors.
In this Video I carpet the Ply panels seperately, this allows me to remove a panel at any point without having to tear down all of the carpet.

Love this. I have just spent all day doing the same thing and your video has made me laugh. We have just done almost exactly the same thing, even when you said those plastic things were part of the van originally so you just put them back 😂
Your comment about Stanley Blades... Man, I did the same and changed them out constantly. I know this is gonna make me sound ancient but in the 80s, I am sure Stanley blades were sharper 😂

Good job, well done for such a challenging project. I didn't know this product existed, but I now have a very good idea of its limitations. I need to cover a bespoke gearbox cover on my current project and now sure it will work. Thank you for making and sharing on UA-cam. 👍👍

I’m sure you put the first bit on backwards that’s why it’s fluffy mate.

I have just finished upholstering my VW T5, not without difficulty... For my part, I chose to cut pieces rather than put the whole thing together. It's easier especially for spray glue. I used an upholsterer's wheel and a long curved a curved tip like those of surgeons. Take your time and measure what you need because with the curves the surface is deceptive. Good luck 👍

I know I'm a bit late, but you could use one of those things called a 'bobble off' that you use on jumpers and clothing on the carpet 👍

Yeah something like that I was gonna try a razor. For the most part it looks fine. Thanks for the suggestion.

Great job well impressed I dont know if you remember but I asked you about the revive in a previous video I tried a product called Cataclean which goes directly in the fuel and its sorted my particular issue out so didn't need to try revive at this point

Nice video, just wondering if you've ever had any issues with the carpet on bare metal. About to do mine but concerned about condensation and mould forming in those areas.
