दिल मे दुआ-ए-शौक़ है लब पर दुआ नहीं
मैं मुन्तज़िर क़ज़ा का हूँ आती क़ज़ा नहीं
(मुन्तज़िर = प्रतीक्षारत), (क़ज़ा = मौत)
मेहंदी जो तूने शोख़ लगाई है हाथ पर
ये आशिक़ों का ख़ून है रंग-ए-हिना नहीं
रोज़ा नमाज़ रखता हूँ ये ज़माने की रस्म है
औरों का है ख़ुदा तो क्या मेरा ख़ुदा नहीं
क्या देंगे सज़ा-ए-मोहब्बत अब वो भला मुझे
कहते है इस गुनाह की कोई सज़ा नहीं

Mehdi jo tuune shokh se lagaayi hai haath par..Ye aashiqo.n ka khoon hai, ranG-e-hina nahee.n..
Very deep rooted lyrics, sung soulfully, with all the depth and emotions and artful wizardry of words...
Roza namaaz rakhta hun, ye zamaane ki rasm hai..Auro.n ka hai khuda to, kya mera khuda nahee.n....
And these last couplets touch the inner core of our 💝...
Kyaa de.nge saza-e-mohabbat, ab wo bhala mujhe..Kehte hain iss gunaah ki, koyii sazaa nahee.n...
