Not realy, and no. feel that the game sadly have gotten a little stale. also not that fun to fight for days on end, just to end up with yet another failed major order.
suspect what would bring back the numbers is what most people are still talking about, that they should give the game back to the regions that has blocked. also the introduction of a new faction might breath some life back into it.
I was excited about the mines and seaf troopers, this looked cool at first but I’m starting to have my doubts if it will actually be good. Love the game and hope the devs can pick the player count back up but the last few weeks kinda just feels like all the fun is being sucked out of the game. Like how you commented on how the suit has probably been ready for quite a while now and is held back to be released at the right time, I feel like there is not enough game content to justify the devs withholding assets, failing the anti tank mines, then completing the first part of SEAF troopers and failing the second half is just punishing us and now we get to do it again with this mech. I don’t play with randoms just don’t enjoy it as much and feel like I’m being rushed, either I’m solo or with my brother, the increased spawns hurt, I’m really hoping we get some actually good updates soon

But tbf we keep failing due to not enough concurrent player sessions, so they need to scale back the goals
yep its not our fault when our people arent there, its getting to the point they are trying to force us to no life the game, i hop on for like 2 missions and get bored because i get no samples for 30 minutes of my time

Mechs would be good if they could be rearmed and their damage repaired.
first game had a repair gun for them that'll probably get added at some point, dont remember if it replenished ammo though

I proposed to rearm the EXOs on HD1 and now HD2, but nothing ever happened. And I'm trying.
It would have to come as a hefty cost, as that would make em extremely OP.
@@FrozenByFire3 And? in order to actually do it you would have to give up 2-3 strat slots so is that really that OP? You would need a rearm strat and a repair strat, ez-pz quite balanced actually.

idea for the mech: maybe once it runs out of ammo, you could call pelican-1 back to collect it, so it can be partially repaired and rearmed, reducing the redeployment cooldown and giving more chance to use the damn thing
one idea my friend said was we should a code to detonate it after running out of ammo

I mean even in the games current state we did win the major order that had us defend and take over 4 planets. Two of which were also automaton planets.

@@redcenturion88 it is to most of the remaining players who don’t need medals for anything other than unlocking random shlt they’ll never use. Also if you remember when we “wiped out” the bots? We cleared like 5 SECTORS in a week n then immediately went back to normal progress when they returned. This was before the psn stuff and when we still had 250-300k active players, point is they control how fast we clear stuff. It quite literally doesn’t matter what we do, have fun.
Besides continuing to give orders is actually working against them rn since we fail them all the time, they could be half intelligent and make it easy just to bring up player morale but they rather nerf stuff then force players to go against bots with 1 less stratagem or they don’t get the barebones bottom of the barrel content they have ready.

@ozylocz4078 I simply view it as means to attaining new content. But if the majority just sees it as a redundant resource farm then you're right. I want the damn mines and the new mech in spite of the countless pitfalls that have come before. While we're all waiting for them to unfuck the situation it would be nice to have something new to mess around with. If they're just dangling that carrot with no intention of giving it then they deserve to go bankrupt.
All the nerfs is killing interest for people who are still playing the game.

generally i doubt it's the nerfs, they change little of the gameplay and most weapons are still fully worth using, most people just don't understand that harder difficulties are supposed to be hard, for me it's because what we do barely changes anything, the automatons just came back after just a few days wich resulted in a massive player drop, the push we did right after that had retaken a lot of territory was immediately met with counter attacks causing us to lose EVEN MORE ground than we reclaimed the order before, generally people play this game because they want to contribute to the galactic war, but if each time we do contribute it just gets thrown out the window the next missions it just stops being fun, and now recently a lot of people are leaving because we keep on failing the MOs
@letzplayosaurus I Disagree, People play this game for fun. You nerf and take away a big part of the fun, then people will just move on to a game that's actually fun.
@@kiro-fo9qg there are tons of shooters and horde games, helldivers is as popular in the community as it is because of the way we are allowed to effect the war, that is why the live service model worked for it to begin with
Yeah, I have about 350 hours on the game and haven't played in weeks because I lost interest due to nerfs. Sometimes it's fun to play a game where I'm the ultimate badass with a shit ton of weapons, not grinding away with busted equipment. Just increase the number of enemies, lol. Don't really have to time to bust my ass with weaker weapons and hope the game doesn't crash before extract, you know?
They can announce new things as much as they want; people just won't play because of three things.
1. The spawn rate has increased by such a huge amount that even on lower difficulties, it feels both not fun and impossible to complete anything.
2. When people play the game now, they're not going to think about actually playing the game; they're going to think about old Helldivers 2 and how great that was and just lose interest in their play session.
3. The weapons and how useless they feel now when before they were fine. I will never understand some of the tweaks they made, the eruptor for example, which was great before the patch, even after the shrapnel change, which honestly added more balance to the weapon than anything else.
So yeah, there you go why I think the game is dying.
And yet we get people celebrating the lose of players, and yet we get people holding the mantle this game should only have 6k-10k players at any given moment, AND yet wanting a fun game makes us the bad guys somehow and wanting good weapons is somehow asking for overpowered guns that can blow up the universe. Then we get the new generation of kids going "wElL yOu gOt YoUrE mOnEy wOrTh? RIGHT??" it doesn't matter game should last longer than a sneeze before playing the same game for 10+ years it value that it somehow lost games should last for many year some forever.

The only good gun was the breaker, why are we talking about 3 months ago as this lost bygone era that was the golden age of gaming. Massive success isn’t worth the insane entitlement and ego the people who buy your product get when it comes to everything you do. If they fixed all three of the points you said somehow. You’d find a fourth reason, because that’s just what the average video game players mindset is. Devs are lazy, they’re working against us and don’t want us to have fun, they should all be fired, all because the weapon I wanted a buff for didn’t get it this week. Mech suit is awesome, but using it on any difficulty over 6 on automaton planets is a death sentence
I like how they did it in hd1 where completing a mission on a specific planet and difficulty unlocked a reward. Made it more in players control to get rewards than having to rely on the collective
It’s making me question if they made these drastic changes to force players to come back to the game. From what i hear about HD1 from old players it was a lot more balanced. Like if you have a blueprint to a house why build something else?
@@BearDude2311 hd1 definitely had meta weapons but units were less spongy so felt like you were doing more even with less effective weapons. With the change from top down it allows more skillful play which opens that divide in effectiveness.
Snipers in hd1 hit like a truck but couldn’t actually snipe due to top down, now you can snipe seems like they got a little scared of people going ham. Lot of cases like that.
What would bring players back is reenlisting our fellow Helldivers from the countries who still don’t have access to the game
Would be great if we could actually beat major orders. Losing 180 countries with hundreds of thousands of players makes it really difficult to do anything which delays even more content, which makes less players play etc etc

The faceless organization of Swedish computer programmers made me!!! I got killed by a charger so I just sent a dm to a developer on discord saying they ruined everything and that we made them what they are right now and they should be grateful!
If it is going to be anything like the other one, it is going to be a curiosity at best. And with how we are being pressured into using the most efficient stuff available by AH nerfing most equipment while simultaneously buffing enemies, you can't really afford to bring something just for the heck of it.
I love fighting the bugs, I'll hold their advance on the Terminid front as long as I can. While the majority of divers make way to the robot front

I was thinking about a laser cannon mech with 1 big battery each cannon so they can be useful for longer since they cool down
the anti tank mines non excitement is cause mines are way too long of a CD for how mediocre they tend to be is my feeling
what holds it back is the 250 second cooldown, i get they want it to be used sparingly because it clears chaff but lower the cooldown to 150 seconds so people can carpet areas to defend.
About 2 months ago guy named YES_I_AM_DEV joined our match and started spamming some exosuit, seemingly to test it as it had 0 cooldown and unlimited ammo but instead of having 2 double autocannons that one had one autocannon on each side.
GUYS PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD
We shouldnt lose this Order, if everyone who plays helldivers regularly just completes at least 10 trivial missions, we will complete this order! Its super easy and it takes less than an hour to do your part!
Me personally im going to be doing at least 10 a day to try to make up for someone else who might not have the time for it

Anybody struggling with the EXO rockets:
It's an issue of your camera's position. It's over the right shoulder side which is verrry off-center for such a big model.
*The solution?*
*Hit your Change Camera Side button and voilá! Rockets are now accurate!* (Not that I think it's an upgrade to when it was released and BOTH guns were accurate but hey)
It's the weekend and memorial weekend, so hopefully we get enough hell divers to make this happen 💪

To be fair, Arrowhead Studios is based in Sweden. They probably don't base their Major Orders around American Holidays lol

Speaking of weekly schedules... You looked at the 1 week scale on Steam Charts and said, "player numbers are still going down" when the majority of that was just a weekly pattern. The peaks were Saturday and Sunday night with a sharp drop on Monday... Might want to look at Steam Charts at a longer scale than a week to get info on overall trends.

Nobody cares that much cause we know how clunky and easily killed the mech will be. This is why nobody uses the first one anymore. They either need to buff the armor/survivability of mechs or give an option to re-arm during battle.
Tried using the mech for the first time since the nerf since I thought maybe the stealth patched it. Nope, I could barely take out 1 bile titan on level 7 difficulty. I ended up being overrun and I immediately died. Rockets are still inaccurate as can be too. Hoping that the old mech gets buffed when this one drops
Yeah, they literally had 0 reason to nerf the rockets on the Patriot, but the shitty balancing team went out of their way to degrade them, just like all of the other good weapons.
@@NSD150 I truly don't know what they were smoking before that nerf. The cool down only allows one or two uses max if you're very efficient, and if you're not careful you die and lose your support strategem(s). It would be cool to have an emergency ejection like Titanfall 2 does but I do also like the idea of having to be real careful with swarms. If they revert it to how it was pre-nerf it would actually be in a great spot imo

The emancipator looks really good, i really wanna see this one. I know people are kinda dropping the hane cuz of all the nerfing problems and the still blocked regions but hopefully we have enough people to at least unlock this one
Hmmm... I just had a thought reading comments about how mechs could use strategems to repair and rearm them and it wouldn't be OP because it would take up multiple strategem slots.
And that thought was... Stronger strategems that take up two or three slots. Could be interesting.

Did you guys notice that the orbital laser is now shared between everybody? When did it change? I specificly remember being able to have multiple lazers at the same time.
We need a mech with a laser gun. Not even a big one, just maybe a machine gun sized sickle paired with something else that does have limited ammo. That way it doesn't just become a paper weight when it runs out of ammo for the primary. Also, just let us resupply them. By all means, make it time consuming to do so, but let us do it.
Love the game, shoutout to the devs for continuously pushing updates and adding new features. Devs made a good choice using the Autodesk Stingray gaming engine, makes adding new characters, planets, weapons, armor, hell of a lot easier compared to some of the other gaming engines out there. Can’t wait to jump into this mech suit when it drops, out there looking like Bumblebee in his Prime! 🐝. Would be even cooler if users could customize the mech suit w/ different upgrades and stuff.
Angel venture just needs a little more reinforcement and we can keep the boost and complete the major order
TBF people are finishing up with school. Either graduation or finals, so hopefully with summer coming up, people hop back on the game.

Same, rip mech, maybe they will realize locking new content behind "gee I hope the community somehow completes a major order despite constantly failing" is fucking stupid game design and incredibly de-motivating.
@@ShiningDarknes they want to make the game feel alive, but should focused on fixes and bugs over nerfing fun things out. The idea is cool like a world raid where everyone works together to defect a boss, it could be a good idea and change things up in the game but for now it to early to try this and the game not in a good place to keep trying it. if the game was working better we could had planets that was "mixed" with the factions fighting for control been cool see a planet with bots and bugs brawling over a planet.

I've been waiting for like 2 months, at least. I'm still excited, but far less than I was originally.
Well, at least this major order could potentially persuade most divers to going after the Bots since most have been paying too much attention towards the Bugs, allowing the bots to further expand their territory & put one of the freshly built academies at risk.
I still stand that the mechs should be one strategem and we can change what weapon we put on it in the hangar

Bro this thing looks SICK. They need to give them more health and the ability to replenish ammo. These are almost useless if you've only got like 20 shots, hoping they make them OP for that 2x use and 10 minute cool down
Not really looking forward to it honestly.. I think the mech is awesome for the shorter 15 minute missions but it has a lot of drawbacks, I'd assume this new one will have the same ones too. Mainly talking about limitations with ammo in tandem with its limited uses per match. Its too easy to blow through a full mechs ammo within a few minutes in D7 or above unless you go out of your way to.. not use the mech. Crossing my fingers they add some way to resupply or even recall a mech for repairs/ammo refill
obviously the answer to that the mech has low ammo, is to bring another mech to use while the first one is on recharge
Dual mechs loadouts could overcome the long cooldown by swapping.
Dual mechs loadouts will suck. Autocannon isnt good against bugs and vice versa for the other mech. Dual mechs wont be viable at least for Helldive for sure unfortunately. They need a buff.
Mechs are playable up to level 5 max. Above and they are useless
Lets be real guys, unless balance decisions make a 180, they wont let us take both mechs at once or they'll share cd/uses

So yeah. He's looking at the weekly cycle there and needs to look at a longer graph. I like either 3 weeks for info on how it's been doing recently, and then really long scales for seeing overall trends.

I haven’t played the last few weeks. Just got distracted with life. Mays a busy month but I will get back into it next month I think
Sadly I'm not excited about it at all. With the changes that you now encounter a vast amount of patrols based on how many players you have in a party I no longer run solo missions as I can barely get to the start of a main objective without clearing 5-7 patrols even in light armor/scout armor due to the sheer number of patrols and almost instant respawns of them. I find it far worse to do random ques due to the constant griefing or pure stupidity of most players coupled with jumping into random matches only to be met with 0 reinforcements, 10 minutes on the clock, and 0/3 major objectives completed...it's not fun and we're now down to less then 50k players out of the 450k due to steam not re-adding the game to the 180+ countries due to the Sony debacle.
Now add in a mech that looks like it can't even penetrate a chargers hide let alone be useful against titans and you can understand why I care about this new mech as much as I do about more "Mines" where a scavenger (Watched it happen multiple times) can run through 3 anti personal mines and still be alive but if you barely touch one with a shield you become a red mist. The current mech is so damn weak I can end up killing 2-3 chargers with a quasar in under a minute while the mech "may" end up killing that amount with all its rockets if it lasts long enough as a single charge generally kills both mech and pilot. The only thing I'm curious about is if the autocannons reflect off nearly every semi armored enemy like the current model or will it at least be able to chew through a tank or charger? If it does and people use it than are they gonna knee jerk nerf it like everything else? Is it going to be made of paper mache like its predecessor where a single charge or shot from a turret or rocket hulk is going to instantly delete it?
Until they stop nerfing weapons into oblivion the moment they detect "Fun", I don't see them doing even a decent job with the mech. It'll be just another strategem to buy because you're capped on currency.
Completely agree. Also, why can't they take head from arse and make decent boosters? It's like if all 4 members take the same booster ( sacrificing 3 other bonuses) squad all gets a 5th stratagem slot. Balanced fair and useful? But game devs ...aren't particularly innovative
Those 180 countries have 1000 players in between them all. Trust me, they are not making a difference here. The real problems are the terrible decisions by AH, in the midst of all the drama they continued to release dog shlt balance update after the next and an ACTUAL USELESS warbond.
The game barely works, there’s no build variety, for some reason most of the shlt in the game is locked behind a premium currency that they seem VERY reluctant to hand out, on a 40 dollar game mind you.
I honestly don’t know how this game blew up at all.
I wouldn't want the mechs to be invincible (not that it would be much of an issue, with the extremely limited ammo and long cooldown), but they should definitely feel more like a "heavy" unit on our side. Something that can actually hold its own in open area against enemies' heavies.
AH should also rethink what kind of role those mechs play. With other stratagems, you usually match them so they play together well. Mechs don't really match well with anything and I don't really see them exceling at anything as standalone stratagem, either. Not great for advancing, not great for defending, not great at dealing with heavies. You make yourself a one big ass target for no particular benefit.

When ever they up spawn rate both are affected and bots in a swarm is way harder than a swarm of bugs, keep the bugs swarming yes but the bots should be dialed back some so you don't get 15-20 devastators and heavy devastators. I say even lower their AI so they can't shot you from across the map as well lower their react limit (a radius around them that looks for explosions and gun fire to go to) as well make the bots tactical only the little chat melee should be sprinting to you as well flame hulks. it not a perfect fix but maybe more players would enjoy bots if they were dialed back some and gives more to work with.
joel should adjust the planet hp to suit the current player amount otherwise we will keep failing major orders with our current number.

I got excited when I read the title but then remembered that the mech's going to get nerfed into the shitter on release, or if Arrowhead's feeling generous they'll release it pre-nerfed for our enjoyment

I have given up on playing since the last update. The game crashes almost every mission and is in an unplayable state for me personally. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue lately?

Helldivers 2 had everything going for them, but ever since SONY and the horrible balancing issues.
The game hasn't been the same since, and will probably not be for a long time.
Content has been slowing down a lot, there aren't a lot of talk about adding new enemies for the factions to spice up gameplay.
Arrowhead really need to do something special to get everyone back.
Because we just don't have enough players to complete these orders.

I prefer fighting bugs (Ive fought Xenomorphs, Zerg, Tyranids, Arcahnids, ect over the years lol) but this is something I'll fight the bots for! Just gotta member my bot setup first lol

Most players had left long before the Sony thing. There were huge drops after every botched balance patch and a steady decline in between them.

I stopped playing due to frustrating crashes. Got really tired of spending over 20 mins on a mission just to get slapped in the face with a crash.
I’ll come back one day if Sony lets those 170 countries back in and the stupid balancing decisions stop. It’s co-op, not pvp. I don’t care if things are unfair for the legions of non-player, killer robots and bugs.
They need to buff mechs SOMEHOW. Because when you basically never see it used by high level players, theres something wrong.
I do not understand nerfs. I was told only to buff to make people happy. If something is weak, buff it. Do not nerf everything down to its level. If something feels like a chore or frustrating to do/feeling unfair I don't want anything to do with it. If you take out the fun of a game, I don't want to play the game.

My friend group have all stopped playing due to the primary weapons feeling trash. Doesnt matter what stratagem they add, primary's still feel like trash
I made like 20 friends when HD2 was launched, now only 1-2 of em still plays (once a week), even i quit from that sh*t hole

every weapon was nerfed and you have no chance of enjoying this game if youre playing higher difficulty than 6
on 7 you just get swarmed with 8 stalkers and 3 biletitans retreating and running 35 minutes long i´m fckn done with this game
Personally think it'd be awesome if they make the Mechs more similar to the ones from the Avatar movies. Give me the option for two arms and hands with which i can wield ridiculously large guns OR have mounted firing platforms like they have atm.
Maybe even let me punch a bug or bot to death. Maybe make them lightly customisable even.
They need to play with truly balls to the wall ridiculous ideas like imagine if you could make your mech have a huge shoulder artillary that simulates a precision strike strategem, but requires your mech to take a stationary "mortar" firing stance.
The current one and even this new one just doesn't seem all that interesting to me.
For a pve game they nerfed the fun stuff hard and sony nerfed the player base

Game suffers from nerfs and the community is also shit because those who use weapons that aren't affected by the nerfs has a weird habbit of going after people who talk about the nerfs.
I hate the "get good" mentality, I don't want to use weapons I don't like. I don't want to pay for a warbond only to see the weapons I was hyped for made useless. How do people not understand this is frustrating
then add in the ones "just lower the difficulty", still don't change the fact many weapons are not fun even on lower levels.
Game suffers from issues, but the community is great. Those people you speak of.. they are of very small numbers.. they do not represent the community as a whole, nor do they contribute to anything.
