What size is the appropriate rivet to use to install these back on? I have a 1998 ranger and can’t find which size rivet to use? What size did you use for this? Thanks
..I used 6mm stainless pan head screws to do my front door handles. Seems more than sturdy enough, looks fine and since Tesla wasn't involved they shouldn't rust. I did double nut them with lock washers on the back. They're not hard to reach. It looks like i can get by with the rear doors. I'll post again if I'm wrong. 😂
The center pin is steel. The rivet is aluminum. The center pin throws your drill off center and is very hard to drill out. It is a mistake to rivet these handles back in. Just use a couple right sized sheet metal screws in case you must again remove the handles.

Exactly what was the point in removing the inside door panel? All the work was done from the handle .
Use a pair of long nose pliers to grasp the cable, pull it forward and out of the recess.

NO! Do not continue drilling that rivet with that huge drill bit or you will enlarge the rivet hole. Get the right size bit.

On most of these door handles, the plastic sleeve on the cable ends has crumbled. They can be replaced with metal sleeves.
If you do the sliders as he does them here, you will damage the sliders.
To slide the plastic sliders just press the ends together a bit and push the sliders up. Do not remove the sliders completely.
That drill bit is much too large.
