Oh Sam, I watched the entire video and I feel like my heart is so full. I felt your joy through the screen! 💖💖💖
I’m glad you enjoyed it!! ☺️
Thanks for putting in all the work on this video, Sam ☺️
I think over the years I’ve lost some of the excitement of going out and exploring and taking photos, or of documenting a trip. Though I feel like you were saying that it’s still valuable to preserve the memories, and I appreciated that.
Thanks for showing the technique side of what you do, and also the thoughtful philosophical side 😊
You guys being here definitely add more motivation, not gonna lie!!
Many many years later, when I’m too old to walk around and too old to hold a camera, I’d be happy re-visit New York and San Fran from this video 😂
Thanks for being so open and vulnarable about your travel/photography anxiety. I can definitely relate, and I think a lot of people can. I always feel anxious taking film photos. I feel the pressure to take a good photo, and then I feel less present because I’m thinking of taking pictures all of the time and that makes me even more anxious, the feeling that I’m missing out on simply enjoying the moment. But then, almost every time I do take a lot of photos, I am so happy with the results and so glad I took them. So, maybe there is no real solution for it, except to try to balance just enjoying the trip like you said and taking the pictures you really want to take. By the way, I love the shots of the people practicing in China Town! The 28mm has a really nice documentary look to it.
I’ve never being to Japan and Iceland, those are the two place I legit want to go, for how much I “hate traveling”… I always think what I’m gonna do and what I’m gonna bring when one day I can really go there… I guess the first time will always be “the tourist” trip, and that’s okay ☺️
The 28mm is so wide it’s difficult to get a “clean shot”!! It’s definitely more challenging!!
Hi Sam! Thanks for sharing your experience with us! Your videos are so inspiring!
Thank you
your videos are incredible calming. it makes me want to just relax with my photography and just have fun with it
Once a while just go out and capture some “whatever” fun photo can be healing~ ☺️
this is literally one of my favorite vlogs ever. idk how you do it but you make everything so wholesome and exciting.
Thank you ☺️ I really enjoyed making this kind of videos, I’m glad you like it~
I’m glad that you did document the trip. It’s always great to look back on memories. Thank you for sharing your struggles with taking photos day to day on on a trip. Sometimes as photographers I think we can put a pressure on ourselves to capture amazing photos all the time traveling. Looks like you had amazing trip though!!🌸✨
Travel with other none photographer people is the difficult part!! But if it’s not with my “none photographer friend” I may not even want to go travel 😂 gotta have a Tourist photographer mindset
@@itscapturedbysam haha you’re totally right! 😄
I love those, I think you are really talented
I have been so unmotivated with shoot and you inspire m so much. I love your work keep going with it!
Thank you!! 🥰
Hey Sam, I truly enjoy your videos and thank you for just being you. You convinced me to get the Pentax 645 NII which im excited to get and take to my trip. Keep up the great work 🙏🏾🙌🏾
omg I'm so happy to hear that!! and thank you for liking my videos!!
Oh Sam. I totally felt how you feel when it comes to travelling to an exciting place and then dealing with everything to with it etc. wanted to give you a hug! NYC will be waiting for you next time 😊 you’re an awesome photographer sam and such a warm human too. Love your videos 🎉
Thank you!! Hug!! ☺️
Thanks for posting this. I always struggle on a trip deciding on cameras and film and always feel like I haven’t shot enough, but I like how you put it tourist vs photographer… and sometimes its OK to be a tourist first. Travelling can be stressful enough. I guess just think of it like a scouting trip.
I think traveling alone or traveling with other photographer friend is much easier to stop and take photos, but if travel with none photographer family and friends, I’m always afraid of slowing them down~ so now I do my regular tourist time with family, and block off a little bit time just for myself so I can take even a few photos ☺️
Such a nice video, Sam! I’ve also been transitioning from not being as interested to ‘just go out and take photos’ unless I’ve a plan or purpose in mind. Which I know is growth, but also feels like some form of loss of some carefree joy of photography. Your video resonated w me quite a bit ✨
The thing is, I think some photos is taken for the far future… like, 5 years 10 years from now, these “random” photos will look different when I’m looking back down the road. These carefree documentaries photos are my digital memories!! ☺️
@@itscapturedbysam that's a really nice thought :)
You will make a trip to NY again. I think sometimes we need to simplify our thought process, especially when it comes to photography (and travel).
Your video brought a smile to my face. Keep 'filming'😊
Thank you!! Hope one day I can also visit Florida ☺️
@@itscapturedbysam You are always welcome! But be sure to come between Oct-Apr, otherwise be prepared to sweat a lot with this humidity! 🫠

Well Sam, I'm glad you brought the camera. See Sam Captured in Captured by Sam. Enjoying the museum.
I’m glad I did, I always enjoy making Vlog just for archiving!! My digital memories!!
❤终于看到这期节目了,hi Sam我是柠檬茶呀~
啊哈哈哈 头像可以看出来!!
I love the grainy expired B&W you did. It is a great look to me.
It's a little too much for me, I will try none expired 3200 some time, I may like it~
啊 喜欢你最后说的一段话!!
说给自己 下次旅行焦虑的时候翻出来看一看哈哈哈哈
I think the problem of the expired delta 3200 (besides being expired) is that its real speed is 1000, you are supposed to push it if you want higher speeds just like Kodak P3200
Wait, wait, did you say... 3AM..?!? 😱😋 Great video, you're a person first, photographer 2nd (or 3rd)!
I just gotta develop my “Tourist Photographer” mode!! Welcome to the 3AM club~ 😂
I found my Grandma's (died last year at 103) camera with a roll of weird walmart Polaroid 35mm film in the can fully shot. and three rolls of Kodak Gold unshot. Is the unshot film useful at all considering it was unrefrgerated at all and maybe 20 years old? And is the roll that was shot developable? I think I will try anyway because if even a dark or blurry image of our memories exists...I mean they're all dark and blurry now.
I'm preparing myself during this month for film photography. Am I late ? I dunno. But, what I know, everytime I see the CineStill images, I hold myself. Kodak and Fuji are the ones that inspire me and now Fuji is out. What about Kodak ?
Hi I'm was curious what the of film was used on the photo at 9:06? Also this was taken with the Minolta yes? Thank you for your time and inspiration!
Yes, it is the Minolta X700, the film at 906 is the Kodak Proimage 100
@@itscapturedbysam Thanks You, for the response! Now I'm off to do more research!!!
Despite you being emotionally flat-lining on this trip the hotel photographs look stunningly Kubrickesque. If you have not seen the Stanley Kubrick-directed movie titled "The Shining" take time to watch it, It takes place in a hotel. You do on occasion unwittingly produce eye candy. I smile inwardly as you go from stumbling to soaring sometimes in the same breath. Your videos are unique and your mistakes are ours from deep within our souls. I am old and know these things. Carpe Diem is latin for Seize the Day
I love “The Shining”!! And I love to take references from Kubrick’s movie!! 👏🏻
The first time I shot the DELTA3200, I was shocked by the graininess of it and it was even not expired! Its granularity is really high!
I have recently used ilford 3200 ( not expired yet )...no grain ...i would have liked it grainy though
I will try it at some point. I may like it!!
Hi Sam.集集精彩!! 什么地方可以看到亚当斯的作品展览呢,我想过去看看。最好在东北部地区。
我刚查了下 在他官网上就可以看到US tour 的具体时间和地点
谢谢Sam! ❤ You deserve a Leica😊😊 But your pictures with Canon, Minolta are as good!
NGL under exposed Portra is a vibe
Right??!! I've been over expose everything, now I kind wanna try underexpose a bit~
天哪,真的好爱这期视频,b站它不懂😢
我也好喜欢这一期 很可惜不能跟更多人分享~
