It’s why I went to grad school , it was an investment. This is why we’re in our living situation now bc it’s an investment to want something decent now. Meanwhile, everyone else is getting married after 1 to 2 years and living in an overpriced apartment bc of what society says and fear of looking like a failure among peers. Bc we waited to get married, I feel security in myself and our partnership. I am happy I went to grad school bc I don’t think there would be time for me to do it in the future. Also, invest in people who you believe will be there for you and decide who will be there superficially (attend bday parties, life events, etc) vs the ones who will REALLY be there

Basically it is like this, if a man doesn't grow up until 42, it's over, major life events are missed (getting a partner, having children, calm down, get a proper job, find out the purpose of life...) after that year you can only repair the damage they've made and hope for the best. When I was 27, I walked out of long-term relationship. I think of it or took as him meaning that in a relationship between two people there is three life’s to it so to speak, or three souls, the life or experience you have of it (1 100%), the life and experience someone else has of it (2nd-100%) and the one you both live and experience together (the third 100%). So we each have our experiences of the relationship and the relationship itself, combined between two makes a third, additional experiences in itself. And that exists just in relationship itself. I will unashamedly say that I am nearly always highly skeptical of anything the 'Hollywood lot" have to say about anything in life other than acting. No offense guys, but most of you are not exactly experts on "regular life" outside of the glamor and luxury of celebrity status lives and huge California houses. That being said, I am actually quite impressed by Matthew as a person -- at least what I've heard from him so far recently. He seems genuinely wise, in relationship decisions and in parenting, which is especially rare among self-absorbed Hollywood celebrities. Lastly, there are a lot of hot men in Hollywood, but I didn't really expect to hear one of them say things that are the kind of thing I'd like to hear from the kind of person I would want to marry. I'm a young woman waiting for marriage and also taking it as a very serious commitment, and it is encouraging to hear that Matthew did the same thing that I'm doing right now, while he was waiting for the person he wanted to commit to: namely, taking that time to grow oneself constantly more and more into the kind of person *someone else* would WANT to marry! Mid 30s is not old for men or women. Yes, society (for whatever the reason) pushes marriage earlier but the majority of people are not financially established or sure about what they truly want out of life, before that age or later. Much less be at the point to have met/and know who they want to be with for the rest of their lives.
