Two leading ancient Greeks, Xerxes I of Athens and Leonidas of Sparta in The Peloponnesian War battle it out. After that, it all starts with a Misthios named Alexios in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
A Spartan mercenary, who fights on both sides of the conflict as they attempt to find their family and eliminate the mysterious Cult of Kosmos.
The Peloponnesian War is the name given to the long series of conflicts between Athens and Sparta that lasted from 431 until 404 BC. The reasons for this war are sometimes traced back as far as the democratic reforms of Cleisthenes, which Sparta always opposed.
The game is set in 431-422 BC, during the first half of the war between Athens and Sparta.
