Every renovation project comes with its own set of challenges.
we love the uniqueness and the character of on old house and we decided to keep as many original features as possible and to add exposed copper pipes.

Sara and Luca, you have accomplished incredible things in the short time you’ve have owned property in Sicily! You saved a neglected olive grove and harvested a beautiful crop. At the same time, you took on 1000 year old home renovation project. Plus, you are raising a beautiful child and have your UA-cam channel. You are Amazing! Luca, I did copper plumbing for several years. Leaks happen, and nobody knows why.... they just happen. I finally decided that was just the Good Lord's way of keeping us humble.
A professional plumber offered you a job after your first attempt at copper plumbing. That is very impressive and is an accomplishment you can be proud of because it's so uncommon. I hope you have a safe trip and stay warm.

I am anxious to hear about Luca’s checkup. Praying that all will be fine! Meanwhile, Luca did an outstanding job with the copper piping. Soldering is a very specialized art, and to have only a couple little leaks is a great feat indeed. Joe and I are glad to know that you have a plumber coming to help solder and to install the toilet, bidet, and shower. It’s a huge job, and what you have already done is to be commended and admired! Sara, you look happy and glowing, with little Luce such a delightful child, with the nature of an angel. Don't beat yourself up because you had a few leaks in your plumbing Luca. My husband has had his own home renovation company for 35 yrs. and still will get the odd leak in his plumbing. You had a lot of joints in your plumbing to solder and to have only a hand full that leaked shows how much of an awesome job you did. Can see why that plumber wants to hire you. Wishing you all the best with your doctor's appt and test. Much love to you both and your sweet little Luce. 💜
Just 2 leaks that’s amazing, my husband has been doing that job for years and still gets a few leaks. My heart was in my mouth when you were drilling the toilet cistern. Try a bit of tape over the outside porcelain before you drill it makes the job a bit easier and prevents slipping. You are all amazing and Luca is adorable.

Playing with the mitton at the end with Luce reminds me of how my dad use to play like a grasshopper, he called "doodle hooper". With his two fingers walking around our heads and shoulders, he would sing, "doodle hopper, doodle hopper, hop, hop, hop." Then doodle hopper would pinch our little noses and cheeks. We would just laugh and laugh, just like sweet Luce. My dad was such a sweet and gentle soul and he loved his four girls so much.
Cefalù is my grandfather’s home. I was fortunate to find some of my relatives there. I visit there every time I can. I have obtained Italian citizenship to honor my grandfather. Thanks for all that you show in your videos.

🦋 I watch many UA-cam channels where people are renovating and building, and I feel a lot of them are more experienced than Luca, and it’s not uncommon for their first check of things to show leaking. And they fix it and move on. Please tell Luca not to be so hard on himself. He is doing a fantastic job. Look at how many Solders he did on all those Pipes with only a few leaks. You will figure it out. He will fix it and all will be good.

When I saw Luce following the bird on the beach it made me think of my Grandfather. He and my Grandmother were from Sicily. He used to tell me that if I wanted to catch the bird I just had to sprinkle salt on it's tail and it wouldn't be able to fly and the bird would be mine. So I spent my time with salt shaker in hand chasing birds, not realizing that if one could get close enough to shake salt on it's tail you'd also be close enough to just grab the bird, I never caught a bird, but I'll bet they had fun watching me try. What a special time for you and your family.

But today little Luce brought a little ray of sunshine to my Sunday, as her name suggests. She is just so adorable. So, thank you for that. I imagine that your videos affect people in many different ways. But today, for me, they brought a smile to my face and a happy tear to my eye. Quindi, grazie per quello che fai. Fa davvero la differenza nella vita delle persone. I visited Cefalu a few weeks ago, what a beautiful town. Unfortunately the wash house was closed when I was there. I always said, Luca did such an amazingly beautiful job on the pipes in the house, and now the plumber was also very happy with what Luca did to the point of wanting to hire him, and so happy that Luca felt better about some minor leaks. This was a beautiful episiode and I can hardly wait to get back to the house in the mountains again! Will be nice to see your father and the family there again! I hope they could come over and take care of the garden and the grass, etc and make sure the house is ok in and out! I am sure Luca will get a happy outcome at the hospital when he gets his checkup in Turin. Turin is actually a beautiful city with some amazingly beautiful statues out in the open, beautiful architecture and wonderful museums. There is so much to see and do there.🌟

I lived in Italy in '73 and '74 because of the military. Loved it beyond words. But I will tell you it was a culture shock.When some said tomorrow that meant ...when I get to you. More culture shock for a 23 three year old with a baby born there than you can imagine. I love my memories from there more than I can ever say. Italians love babies and love to share them with you. lol all good
Someday Luce will have her own kittens and cats, it's so cute how she tends to the feeding of them. I loved watching Luce by the sea, that would be the place you would find me if I was close by. And she has a mind of her own, how she put her glass down right by her book and you moved it away and SHE moved it back to where she wanted it!!! Cats in Italy are everywhere. I have never seen a hungry cat or a sick cat. Everyone feeds them. Like he said the control mice! The old homes have many hiding places for mice!
