Legend. 2021-22 (31-1), Conference, Conference Tournament, South Regional Champs, lost in Elite Eight 2022-23 (36-0) Conference, Conference Tournament, NCAA Champs, Most points in title game for any division and either gender (111 points), 6th Division II team to go undefeated 2023-24 (32-3), Conference, Conference Tournament, Lost in the NCAA Final (tied with under one second to go) 99-4 over three seasons. After the 2022-23 National-Title season, NSU lost four players to Division I teams through the portal (Memphis, Georgia, Charleston, Samford). They reloaded and went to the title game with almost all new faces. There was zero time spent "rebuilding." Zero. It was "reload and go." You think you've seen intensity? You think you've seen pressure, trapping, running, and selfless basketball? Come to the Shark Tank. It's next-level. Not since Nolan Richardson led Arkansas to the Division I title in 1993-94 (31-3), featuring his "40 Minutes of Hell," has any team put out the non-stop intensity that NSU does. And we aren't done yet. GO SHARKS!
This is what sports is all about. What a great portrayal of the game of basketball and the commitment it takes to have success at any level... The legendary coaches that come from North/Central West Virginia is crazy (Saban, Bowden, Crutchfield, Holtz, Rodriguez, Stewart, Huggins etc etc)... Honored to have my child given an opportunity to compete there!...... Chalas is a stud!
Excellent Documentary Ben! Hopefully one day sooner than later you will be able to do another one about how Jim Crutchfield and his Coaching Tree entered the D1 Scene and changed it forever and made all the doubters and naysayers humble themselves! Don't know why it hasn't happened yet, but I believe one day it will!
