Great video - that rattlesnake encounter was cool. As an amateur wildlife photographer, I am always looking for the unique shot...that rattler would have been it for me !
Who didn’t know about Milky Way photography & the use of circular polarizers? ME! 🙋🏻♀️ We’re headed north to the lake this weekend & since the fall bird migration is pretty much done up there, it’s time to turn back to landscapes, especially given the heightened activity of the Northern lights here in the northern plains. So a filter that I normally leave at home (generally only comes out for car/semi truck shows & parades) is definitely going into the camera bag. FYI, I miss traveling through New Mexico, it’s such a beautiful state!
Enjoyable and educational video. It would be great to have a video on what filters you use for night photography - I'm new and have the basics in my kit but other than a CP and and couple NDs I have nothing specific for night landscape / astro. Thanks!
I live in Israel. We don't get a lot of people like you over here, It's Refreshing. I also took your advice about being realistic with expectations. I've been having a lot more fun taking pictures ever since. So thank you! again😁❤️
Great video! I enjoyed watching your PS workflow. A missed opportunity for a macro shot on that rattler though 🤣 I retreat to narrowband filters when the moon is out like that. Grats on 100K!
Thanks for another great episode. We were told rattlers are more active at City of Rocks than usual this year and to watch out :). So far just one.... my wife is not a fan, my kids were all excited to see it first thing in the morning :).
Thanks man, I really appreciate that! It's a Roofnest Meadowlark. I actually just did a whole video about it recently that you can check out if you want to see it more in-depth. ua-cam.com/video/LAsg-mJ-5Rk/v-deo.htmlsi=lsZh_0CNqhL7ltWy
Hi Brent. I love your videos and I'm very grateful for having them. Thank you😊. I need little help with a decision, maybe you have a suggestion. I use R6 and would need a wide angle lens. For night photography (also for Aurora Borealis) but also for usage during daylight. I would perfer the one from Sigma, 14-24mm, F2. 8. But I'm not sure if F2.8 is enough for night photography. Have you any idea? Thx, BR from Austria. Mira
"Fast enough" is a relative term. I typically shoot my f/1.8 primes at f/4 to get rid of the coma, but that's me. I'd rather have less coma and deal with the noise, since AI de-noising is so good these days.
Great video. Thanks for sharing your editing. Did you use the Intervelometer? What setting did you use for it when setting up the intervelomter/Timelapse mode and how many photos did you take? I’m still editing a star trail I took in June! Lol. I move way too slow. Didn’t know about using filters at night when moon is out. Wow the snake. Glad I don’t know what critters I have been around when shooting at night. 😮
When i was taken some night sky captures a few nights ago . I managed to get some Ghosts ..on camera . Have you ever got something on Camera that you've haven't made public ??
Congratulations on 100k 😊 warm regards from UK
Many thanks, I appreciate that!

Thanks man, I'm glad you liked it! Yeah, it's not too hard to find them out here, :P

I am new to your Channel. I love the way you just put things the way they are, you Don't get fancy about anything. Everything is simple I like that.❤
Hey thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate that!

Grats on 100K!
Thanks man! Yeah, I definitely left my macro at home. It would have been perfect for that. Oh well, they're not too hard to find out here. :P

Yeah, it's a good time for them to be out, before it starts getting too cold. Hopefully you guys are having a good time out there!
From a fellow vet and New Mexican, I really enjoy your channel. Good work! By the way, can I ask what brand/ model roof tent that is?

I'm surprised the Owls didn't make an appearance. Thinks for the workflow segment
There was a GHO about 25ft away from out camp spot, up on one of the big rocks. Didn't get any footage of him though.
Great video!
Thank you!
That was a beautiful rattler!
Yes it was!

Thank you! I used the built-in intervalometer, and had it set on a 1 sec interval. I took 200 shots for the timelapse.
Many Thanks! @@BrentHall
Great vid

Oh, crazy! No, I've never had anything like that before.
