    Had you knocked over those bee boxes with the zero turn you would have found a new use for your pond really fast. Your bee smoker bellow or the smoke coming off that burn pile would calm them down enough to get them off your suit if you ever rile them up again!
    The ones that always seem to get me are the ground burrowing wasps, you can't see those until you are already getting swarmed and being wasps they hammer you multiple times.
    Thanks again for the video!

    If ya take the front end loader off and lose the wheel weights it would do better on wet ground. That’s a lot of work for just that little field. A pull behind brush cutter can make you lighter as well.

    When I worked in the city parks department I used a Ventrac with dual wheels on the front and back with the mower deck in "float". It's like a swamp buggy crossed with a mountain goat. It priteneer floats on water and I've had it on bridge slopes up to around 36-38 degrees. For a pocket change of around $100k (😂😂😂) a Kut Kwick, which we also had, would handle a 40+ degree slope but for water.... Ventrac with duals.

    When your bee mentor comes out I’d suggest you put a wider and stronger base under your hives. The hives appear to be tippy and can get pushed over in a strong wind. They get VERY heavy when they are full and you have more honey boxes on top. Lesson learned that one always gets out of a bee suit away from the house. Rock on!

      I've had those uppers stacked up on wood before but what ends up happening is it gives invasive insects and rodents a place to start at the hive from. The worse setup i saw was actually an old abandoned wood shed that the owner had moved and repurposed to house his bees. Bad Idea. over the winter it was a magnet for rodents and insects that destroyed the hives. All of the bees were dead come spring with even parts of the uppers themselves eaten away at by mice. A small cement pad can't be beat but even a pad made of vertically stacked cinderblocks that are half buried and filled with earth work great.

    This was a major reason I bought my tractor. A couple years ago I got hit in the neck by a hornet and it sent me to the hospital (I’m not even allergic to bees)!!!! Now as absurd as it is I’m mowing my tiny acre or so of grass with a cab tractor and 3 pt finish mower!!!🤣
    Obviously I have more to do than just mow, but I figured if I’m buying a tractor anyway, I’m getting the finish mower too! lol

    Where I work I get stung at least 6 times every year them yellow jackets and paper wasps. We have our fair share of honey bees I'm amazed how passive they are. The honey bees get a bad rap.

    Howdy Brock! Man... what a conundrum... face an angry wife or angry swarming bees... 🤣 I'm having some of the same issues on some low spots on my property. Let it grow or make big muddy ruts. Got to hand it to Deere - they got the belly mower hook up down. Nicely done and thanks for sharing 🤠

    You should look into gravel banding the lawn it's a drainage method used on the ball fields I don't know if you use it over there in the states It is a series of shallow slit trenches in straight line in rows the length of filled with a band of 14 mm gravel acts as a wick drawing the water to a french drain 🤔😀a possible solution 😂😂

  • @SlackerU
    @SlackerU 25 днів тому

    I'd actually suggest to your wife that if the drainage is better after June 1st then you should toss wild-flower seeds there in September-December so that next time you both want to manage that area you'll have to do it in a way that doesn't hurt your wildflower-investment(no mowing from September-June1st or whatever your state's wildflower management mowing is. The flowers must reseed or it's an expensive meadow).

    Yellow jackets in ground nest are the worst!! I could believe that you didn’t take the loader off and actually added more weight by picking up the box blade???? I think if the deere wasn’t weighted like it is…. Would probably get it done. Would rut some but not like it did. If I were closer I would bring my 2ea ventrac machines over and help you knock it out. Good luck! Remember…. “If momma is happy… every body is happy”. 😂😂😂

    Love that you have a hive and are learning.🧬. Those swells need to be much deeper. It’s hard to tell elevation on video but as far as I can tell you should have at least 3’ deep runoff swells and a lower pond relief. If you haven’t already look at the effects of a damn on the ground water around it. You have a lot of potential on the property.!!!

    Good morning Brock. I would like to apologize if I sounded critical about in yesterday's video. However, Mike did answer my comment about a log catcher and said that he was going to check them out. Also, I think that part of the problem mowing the wet area with your John Deere is all of the weight. Between the loaded tires, wheel weights and the box blade it's pretty heavy but that being said without those things you would lose traction. Just one old man's opinion. But I do think that if you get rid of the 2038r you'll miss it. God bless and have a wonderful day. 👍👍🙂

    You need to set lower expectations for your wife. I “planted” my wife a wildflower garden (weeds and milkweeds) in our back yard, so I can’t mow it but once a year in the late spring. Just because we have grass doesn’t mean we need to cut it.

    Why don't remove all the unnesecery ballast like the boxblade and your frontloader? when you want your wheel weights? at my property my kubota b2150 with 60 inch deck and 1000kg does almost nothing in wet compared to my john deere 4410 with 72 inch and 1500kg. tires are super wide on the jd with 41-18ll16.1 balloon type on the back. I never mow with the loader on. than i destroy everything in our wet climate
