Whites are tricky. I think I spent the most time on him getting them to look good. That video might be a bit longer than my others. In the meantime, I'd recommend using a gradient of dark grey, medium grey, and light grey for the bulk of it, then use an off-white (ie. Ivory) for the highlights of the cloak. But avoid pure white for all but the smallest and brightest edges.
I really hope you continue this series. Curious if you got any beyond the core series. Would love to see your take on Mysterio or Doc Ock if you got them.
That's the plan, it's just a slow process for me. I got Wakanda, Infinity Gauntlet, and Sinister Six, but I was planning to pick the other three up at retail. I'll have to decide if I pay second-hand market prices or wait for the X-men KS to get them now.
@@baseshadehighlight4627 Looks like the others aren't coming to retail anymore. CMON had some issue with their distributor. But they are available as part of the current X-Men campaign. I actually have exactly the expansions you do and I'm probably getting the rest with X-Men. Anyway, these videos are great, I'm really happy with the Red Skull I painted from your guide and will be starting Hulk tonight. Please keep them coming! And thanks!
I don't recommend any specific brand, but I'd say buy less expensive brushes if you are less experienced to learn with. An expensive brush won't make someone a better painter, but it will get ruined just the same as a cheaper brush. If you're just starting out, I'd recommend an inexpensive Golden Taklon brush or Synthetic Kolinsky Sable Round brush. If you've got a lower budget, a variety bag of brushes from big box stores will be just fine too. If you have more experience taking care of brushes, Kolinsky Sable Round brushes are the way to go.
These models are really great and your paintwork is excellent. I love how peaceful these videos are compared to some others. I'm thinking of getting some Marvel United models and I might try my hand at painting. I don't know if I'll have the time or patience to do a full paint like this though. Do you think the contrast paints plus a highlight would be good fit for this style of mini?
Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I've tried contrast paints and wasn't happy with the results. They work well on smaller, highly textured minis, but not so well on large flat surfaces like most of MU. There may be some places more suited to them, and I've seen some people get good results with them, but it's not something I recommend.
I love watching your videos. I started painting my marvel untied minis tonight- first time painting. Looking forward to seeing you so more characters. Do you have an Instagram account?
I'm glad you're enjoying them. Don't stress too much about your first one, they're great to look back on and see how much you've improved. Have fun and share pics when you finish! No Instagram for me.
✌️🤩✌️
Amazing. Very good job.
Thank you very much!
Looking forward to more.
More on the way!
Just started painting him now and trying to use your guide. Not quite at your level but trying my best haha cheers for the great tutorials !
You got this, just keep at it!

I hope you do Taskmaster next. It seems like no matter what I do, I just can't get his cloak to look right.

New follower and appreciate your guides. Any plans for Marvel Crisis Protocol figures?
Thanks Southpaw. No Crisis Protocol plans, these Marvel United figures will keep be busy for a long time.

@@baseshadehighlight4627 Well, after core set, I vote for Sinister Six! Thanks!

Great video! What sized brushes did you use? Thanks!
Thanks! I mostly use a size 2 for everything, but I’ll drop down to a size 1 for some of the small details.
