    This is such a timely video as I’m planning to import a few hoyas to where I live in the states at the end of the month, and this is such good info in case they were to have some root issues! Just such a well thought-through and executed video. I recently discovered your channel and I love it! You’re so informative and your plants are gorgeous!

      Thank you and I am so glad to be of help! 😊The reason why I made these care videos is I noted many fellow growers asking similar questions in Hoyas group and I myself also tried to find answers in the internet before and there wasn’t much detailed info. Will continue to gather questions and make practical videos to share with all ☺️🌸

    This is a very valuable lesson for me, as I’m relatively new to Hoyas it’s good to know in advance what to do in the event of poor medium. Thanks for your greatly appreciated information contained here, it is well explained.

    I decided to pull out everything I had in coco husk and they were all rotten! I cut all of the roots off and stuck them in pon mixed with stratum fluva and some lava rocks.

      Sorry to hear you had some bad experience with coco husk too 😢 yes it’s better to change the media next time. Good luck on rooting the Hoya!

    I despise coco husk! I lost my big Genevieve, some cuttings made it but most didn't. I thought it was due to drying out during shipping, but after pulling out my other plants I see it's the dang coco husk!

    It has to have white sap, correct? Clear liquid means they are dead?

    • @BelsHoyas
      @BelsHoyas  Рік тому +2

      It depends on the Hoya species, Carnosa type have clear sap instead of white.

    how do you transition from water roots into a medium? mine always die

    • @BelsHoyas
      @BelsHoyas  2 роки тому +2

      It depends on a few factors, firstly you need to have enough roots, and when they are newly potted, it’s important to keep the cuttings out of direct sun, but near bright shade. And keep media slightly moist and don’t allow it to dry out. So far, I have over 90% success rate

      I use a prop box to increase humidity in my dry climate until I see its growing. Also a clear pot helps you visualize roots

    Do you have to see sap? I recently got kerri that's really dry, but I think I can save it!

    • @BelsHoyas
      @BelsHoyas  2 роки тому +1

      Yes you do need to see sap, without sap the cutting will not root. Good luck on your kerrii!
