Trivia: No one called combat aircraft "fighters" in WW1. The Brits called them scouts, and the USA called them pursuit airplanes or scouts. The term fighter wasn't adopted by Britain until the 1920s, and the USA in the 1940s. I forget which one it was, but one of the funniest descriptions of a scout plane I've ever read was about a two-seat pusher. The description said "The only Albatross this airplane could shoot down was the kind with feathers."

This video has resold me on the WWI part of IL-2 -- PS -- Never knew how or if the sim modeled pilot's bodies smacking the deck. BOOM goes the airplane and then, SPLAT goes the pilot. Loved it.
This is the fourth vid of yours that I have watched and each one from Russia to Port Moresby to Douai have been excellent from the flying to the camera work and the narrative! I've got the games, but I require a much better system.... do you have a cooling system for Ryzen?

The Allies had parachutes but only the balloon corps used them for "reasons".

Yeah, it's water cooled. I usually have my 3800x overclocked to 4.2 ghz, and it's still underpowered for what i'm doing

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. The Albatros doesn't have a rear gunner
