@Ligma Nuts thats just metal
Thank you, Toola for all you've done as a surrogate mommy to 501 and all the other ott pups you've helped get back to the wild!!! I bet you are definitely missed by those who work in this otter program! What a beautiful lady (otter) you were! 💙🩵💕
Who else is on a Sea Otter video marathon?
Im about to die because of how cute they are, and also dehydration
THat is so funny! I am! :)
yep :) i havent got a jobb but i sure do know about otters

Aww she gives it a kiss before she leaves. 2:44
justin jones AWWWWW otters are the cutest creatures
+GuanXiaoSoul until they rape dogs and seals.
Royals AHHHHHH OMG WTF DO THEY ?
+GuanXiaoSoul Yes, some otters have exhibited necrophilic behaviour.
Josh Andallo omg I will look at them differently now
that's so smart to put the pup on the boat. hopefully the owner is aware of this
More like making them there own anchor them
They probably are.
so cute! the baby otters starts playing with the rope knot, then has to smooch and snuggle his mom quick before she leaves. awww! I would be worried that someone wod try moving the baby while she were gone thinking that it is abandoned. or if the boat moves.
the mom isnt thinking
They are not gone that long and I am sure the baby is full grown now. Plus boat owners are not using their boat on in Summer hot season not winter. By that time the otter is old enough to not be left alone. Think!
vin 950 lmao, love how you dropped that “think!” Line back, that was embarrassingly lame when that guy said that, glad you shoved it back at them. Persons dumb as hell, “think!” ? Think!? What the hell is that supposed to even mean anyway ya know!? Like, peoples boating habits and shit isn’t common knowledge and not something somebody could sit there long enough just thinking about until they know the answer lmao, they’d have to actually: know the answer. Like hey, what foods and drinks do I have in my fridge right now? You don’t know? Well OBVIOUSLY I like chocolate milk, so that’s there, and I have leftover pizza in there too cuz I got pizza last night, and there’s a 2 litre of coke, a carton of milk, carton of cream, etc etc.. Think!
That’s scary ...
Hard working single otter mothers
But unlike humans it's OK to look at them without being turned to stone
i think all animal single mom fighting.

Hihihi... So funny!
I have always thought sea otters were cute but this just upped it by 10x...amazing how much they care for their young...made me teary eyed!
If you got teary eyed from this, you’ll be full on sobbing if you watch their other otter video about the baby orphan otter being adopted by an adult female otter.
@trha2222 male sea otters rape baby seals and female otters. Also blackmail the females for food by drowning the pups

I agree!
The mother has no otter choice...
😄😄
I've been watching to many of these videos, I otter go back to studying
God damnit! XD
Lol you guys are funny😂
Other
Ottermoms, I think MTV should do a series about it and skip this teen mom thing....
I agree 😂
🤦🤦😂😂😂😂
I know teen brats is garbage!
I concur!
This should be the only reality TV
I grew up 5 miles from Elkhorn Slough...watching this video makes me feel nostalgic. Our otters in Monterey Bay are a treasure, I would go ocean kayaking and oftentimes they would swim along with me...and they are even cuter in real life.
Hope those boat owners check their boats before they go out! Hate for mom to come back to an empty boat space! And baby to fall off in the middle of the ocean going, huh....
I am worried about that too. Hopefully, all the pups survive!
I'm sure the boat owners know, especially since PBS just covered it.
I'm sure in such an otter and wildlife rich area they are aware of things like this
I'm sure shit and piss aren't the same.
@@alexanderbannon6169 They might be aware of it but I hope they care enough too.
My face when the mother put the pup on the boat's step :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

when humans are gone hopefully we will be replaced by giant otter people.

That was sweet.
Loved how she lifted him out the water, then tells him "I'll be right back."
Mothers are truly amazing creatures, in all shapes and sizes 💕
How about spider mothers
Cellar spiders guard their young hatchlings until they've matured enough to survive on their own. @@thelonelysuntzu4818
That is the cutest story and cutest everything...ahhhhhh
Me, too!
I love sea otters. They are the cutest 😍
I am in awe of the adaptation the mother otter is doing for the pup survival.
Why doesn't someone create an area for the Moms to drop their kids off in? Like baskets or something? It's dangerous having them swim among boats with outboard motors. I think someone needs to create a DayCareCenter for these hard working Moms.
West Winds and how would we suppose to tell the mom, here is a kndergarten for your babies... 😂
@@fly89 These creatures are really intelligent I'm sure they would figure it out quickly
And who's tax dollars are going to that?
You?

The whole "Planet of the Apes" thing just creeps me out. But I don't think I'd mind "Planet of the Otters". I think I could grow to like our Otter overlords.
They would probably make us do chores like picking up the pups' poop or wrapping them in seaweed. Not saying I mind though xD
You should've done a Kent Brockman. "I, for one, hail our otter overlords."
you see that south park episode where otters have become as smart as humans?
No I'll have to look that up. Thanks man!
You should watch otters vs turtle's and monkeys
"Be right back, babe."
"Okay, Mom. I'll be okay."
Watching three otter videos in a row because a UA-camr told you to is super easy, barely an inconvenience!
Watching otters hold hands is TIGHT
Yeah it is!
here from Pitch meeting... where are those amazing Otters??? omg
What good Moms they are!! This otter mom knows how precious life is.
Who else is here seeking emotional refuge from Velma? 🤣
so that's what sea otter daycare is like
Years ago there was an English Military General who served many years in the English Army. He lived his final years amongst 50 dogs, and several friendly animals in his large mansion. The General had no wife, no children only his beloved animals. When he was dying of old age. Many of his former soldiers who served under his command visited him and all asked the same question. "Sir, we need to know. Why do you live alone with no company except these animals." The Generals response to his men, "after many long years of seeing wars and the cruelty that man can do to his fellow man on the battlefield, I rather live my final years in peace amongst my animals."
Marine Veteran USA
cool
This is why I like animals better than most people.
I was a cop for 20 years and now I'm the same. Animals are my friends.
Sad but understandable. True Story? 🙄🌷🌷
So why do otters hold hands? :\
It's so they don't float away from each other. :)
Duh
Duh -.-
Yea, DUUUUHHH!.... Actually I wondered the same thing,
I wasn't expecting an obvious answer to be honest,.
MeekoSoup because the little baby cant swim so when the mother swims she wrap her arms around the pup since the mother swim so fast and the pup cant swim fast
The baby playing with the rope 🥺🥺🥺🥺. How adorable...
That was cool, they are so precious. I think the narrator is Daniel Stern-he narrated the tv show The Wonder Years. I loved that show as a kid, good memories when I think of it or hear this guy's voice. :)
I love the names of the boats -- Ursa Major and Ursa Minor (Big and Little Bears). In the night sky, that's Big and Little Dippers.
That’s so cute that the mom has this thought out plan/location, so smart!
I am in awe of momma otters and how they manage to raise their precious kids
Why do otters do such ridiculously cute things? That little clip at 0:42 of the baby otter alone in a bed of seaweed but wrapped in it so it was anchored to that one spot and it was difficult to spot out at first but you could see its little body moving with the waves which was so adorable!!!
Omg the pup playing with the rope is so cute
The cuteness blew my mind!
This baby otter playing made my day, I'm completely melting
HOW ARE THEY SO SMART THEY KNOW HOW TO TIE KNOTS IN SEA LEAVES WHEN I TOOK 7 YEARS TO LEARN HOW TO TIE MY SHOE LACES
Tyla Z you're probably just dumb
frackin' adorable. i just hope no one goes to take off with a baby otter on the back of their boat.
What a smart Momma she is. Takes such good care of her pup .
That is literally the sweetest thing in the world
Heartwarming scene !!! 💕 this heart is for the parent Otter and the baby otter pup !!!
I've been there! It is a great place to visit. There are so many playful sea otters, harbor seals and sea lions. When I was there there were wails too at the mouth of the harbor.
Wails??? You mean whales.
Idk something about the mom otters carrying there babies on there stomach..gives me..paternal chills..idk..protection and spoiledness..security blanket..favorite toy..just plain chills of comfort..
So adorable that's why I love PBS they always keeping it real
I grew up in this area my grandmother was born in Moss Landing near Elkhorn Slough it is an awesome place to watch otters. Del Monte Beach and Big Sur.
2:46 Surprise Smooch!
"Mooooom, you're embarrassing me in front of the humanssss"
I lived in the Hebrides for a couple of years and swam with sea otters several times. The juveniles were very curious. I don't think I fully appreciated how amazing an experience it was. I was pretty young at the time and sea otters were just kind of there.
...So... Does it not explain the hand holding, or was I not paying attention?
So they don't float away
Just to clarify the previous comment: so they don’t float away from each other when they sleep
I missed that as well. Does anyone know where in the video does it specifically talk about holding hands..
Otter fathers = dead beats
EasySnake nah, otter moms just can't have grown otters hanging around her pups. so he's got to go XD.
As is the case within most of the animal kingdom, unfortunately.
Sarii Fox birds sometimes have some pretty damn dedicated fathers (cardinals, penguins) lol, emperor penguin fathers really put in some serious work.
true, that's a very valid point. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of mammals
That's how it is mostly in the wild. Men are just sperm donors. Once the deed is done, he's going to search for other ladies to impregnate... making sure his line continues. Just imagine if human society behaves that way.
Now that's smart, dangerous to go up stream, but real smart to take her baby to a safe place. What a mother.
Awwwww otter pup is so wiggly and fluffy 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️
Otter mom is a great swimmer and super strong. What a great Mama!!
When I was up in Alaska, we when to a Marine Rehabilitation center, and they showed us the otter nursery. I've never seen so many cute things at one time. They were all playing with their blankets, cuddling stuffed toys, and sucking on pacifiers.
Ow my God!! She is very clever!!! Adorable!
They are so precious!
At 2:21 his voice fades out for a second, and it sounds like he's so moved by this mother otter taking care of her pup that he starts crying. :)
This is the cutest video title and content on UA-cam.
Wow...and what if the boat leaves before mother otter comes back!?
Salto DelPuma What happens if the otters get run over by a boat?
Critique808 it dies?
No but someone could take it home and keep it as a pet which is not a good idea....although they are cute they need their mother to learn everything on how to survive in the water and be happy as what they are.....wild otters and not pets.
Salto DelPuma Bye bye pup
Critique808 this is why you don't see boats zipping out of docks, they're supposed to leave slowly in case of animal contact and also other boat traffic.
too cute owner of the boat should leave toys for the babies to play with.
Awww so cute. Being a mum is tough work in any species.
Awwwweee....they are so adorable and beautiful
It's insane how intelligent some animals are.
We're not the only intelligent animals on the planet. That sea otter mom is precious and so is her baby!
I love that evolution has even given baby otters floatie fur.
I can’t stop watching videos about otters 😫😫lol so damn cute
Like watching these kinds of animal videos. They humanize me.
Søren Elliott omg my thought exactly
So.. you're not human?
If I saw a baby otter on my boat step, there's no way I am pulling off. That would change my plans until mom returns for her baby.
THAT IS SOOO COOL, i love how clever animals get and that momma finding a way to keep her baby safe, though my mind wonders.... what happens if that boat takes off :(
the boat owner could move the pup to another boat next door? or maybe they cud leave an artifical boay with a platform of similar hieght to leave the pup on so when men mom comes back she will see it in same location.??
Otters are so caring & intelligent creatures.💗
AWWWWWWWWW
Okay, people should have little "otter playpens" around the harbor. A simple little platform like where she put her baby. That way people can still take their boats out while not accidentally taking baby for a ride x'D
summer would be me watching otters day and night
i absolutely love sea otters
THEY ARE SO FRIGGING CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved watching these years ago🥲
Amazing. That shot of the pelicans. So beautiful. I want to do this
Surprised to see the mother grab and place her pup on the step. So smart and beyond nimble, what would you call that physical ability?

otters are awesome, taking such good care of their young
smart otter mom! as someone who i loves sailing, i'd feel so honored to have my boat used like that. i'll just hate to wait before sailing out :') we once had a sound-sleeping mallard on it - we didn't want to disturb the poor thing. just had to wait with out trip for a while.
Love Elkhorn, great kayaking and otter heaven!
Can you imagine how excited the boat owner would be if he realized his boat was a otter play pin? I would be over the moon excited! I’d bring it kelp chips or something 😃👍🏻
they are so adorable!
I think otters especially otter pups are the cutest thing on THIS planet
Sea Otters are my favorite animals to watch... love them.
Otters are awesome !! Such wonderful creatures..
May be thee most precious baby mammal ever. What do you think?
Too cute... Can't... - passes out -
Otters watching otter-watchers like "Hah, look at those big dumb idiots. Can't even float properly! I've got babies more buoyant than they are!"
Otters are just something special.
That was a great film clip, thankyou! Wisdom, strength, compassion, resilience & endurance some of their amazing qualities. Humans can learn so much from animals. Such underestimated little souls
Amazing 💘 love how otter mom take care of hers babies.
The baby otter is so darn cute...
That "otter play pen" was so fucking cute XD
They didn't talk about them holding hands though?
They are adorable
Anyone notice how the big boat was called URSA MAJOR (big dipper) while the lifeboat was Ursa Minor (little dipper)?
What happens if an Otter has twins? How do they carry them through the ocean?
There’s a jetty that goes out into the open water and along there there’s always a ton of rock crab and I always seem them feeding on those. They break them open with rocks, ironic I know
Let's have a reunion when this gets recommended to everyone
