Another guitarist with *incredible* feel is Martin Tallstrom; check out his videos. He's definitely not as technically proficient, but his ability to bring emotion into a song is at a master level. Check out his cover of "Sound of Silence" at ua-cam.com/video/w9qiFHraBtc/v-deo.html
Is there anyone better? Notes are so clear, no misses, no buzzing. That's insane how accurate he is yet still adds some style and character to it in his always on beat sound. Genius plus!
Sungha Jung was one of the first people I subscribed on UA-cam. It's so wonderful seeing his growth over the years! It's crazy to hear the difference between this cover and the first time he covered this!
It's been a while Sungha... We're exactly the same age. Since I was a kid I've always dreamed of playing like you. It's been years, and I'm nowhere near as good as you, probably never will be. On the flip side I grew a beard. How about you? Uh? UUUUh? Keep it up man, you're rocking all the way!
@@SouvlakiSpaceStationWorker. We could spend the our lives trying to make a guitar sound like that and it would never. Whether synced over the video or not he's still the one playing the guitar.
I did a cover of Sungha's arrangement about two years ago, but I have to admit this version has more jazzy vibe to it. He's improved so much over the years that I don't know how else he could surprise me! Keep up your amazing work Sungha! 😁👍👍
In a day and age where a boy, far across the world, with an amazing gift, could film himself as a child, post it onto the net for the world to see and get to a place like this, is amazing... Slowly but surely, 10 yrs later he's gained attention from millions, holds over 5M subscribers and grows in this art. This is a gift. You can't teach this, you can't learn this. You can grow in your skill, but this my friends is a rare gift. I admire his parents for creating a future for this guy and well, the talent, is beyond admirable! Cheers
I totally agree about it being a gift. Even with dedication and skillful effort, one must still be gifted and blessed. As a guitarist, I know this to be true.
his arrangements is insane, back in the old days i still can imitated his arrangement(not all of his arrangement), but now i cant imitate his arrangement, not even little bit! salute to you fingerstyle king👏
His arrangements are really something out of this world. The technicality of integrating chorded melodies is not easy and the amount of intricate articulated picking and strumming makes it so much easier to appreciate. It's like singing the actual song without the words.
MomsHealthySecrets - all finger style guitar is about playing the vocal melody as well as the rhythm and bass - but playing each syllable of each word in the vocal melody makes it seems as if you can hear the song in your head. That being said, this guy's arrangements as well as the wide variety of right hand techniques make him one of the best in the world. Agree 100% with your post.
this is a truly incredible arrangement, I love the soloing how he worked it into the arrangment and it just flowed almost like the rhythm section didn't stop
I remember before, you posted a short clip on instagram of you playing a part of this and I couldn't stop replaying it because it was amazing. I waited so long for a full version and here it is :') It's been years and you're still amazing like you always were

Yes, and his balance of the different layers in his arr.s is better and he brings the melody out more and he's learned MUCH more about jazz harmony and scales. Better and better. He also used to rush/compress the end of the measures in beat 4 a bit consistently and he stays more laid back and in conctrol everywhere now. It's very cool to hear and see someone already really good become amazing. It's also crazy how much he shares online new videos every few days for years, how many songs he has learned and played and shared. I really appreciat that so I make sure I purchase every one of his albums, even though I pay for an Apple Music subscription anyway. :)
Just want to say thank you Sungha Jung! You are my first inspiration for fingerstyle guitar, saw your videos forever ago when you were super young. I didn't play much guitar at the time but a decade later I'm starting my fingerstyle journey and your cover of River Flows in You is the first song I'm mastering, I'm almost there, and eventually I'll take on this one, it's one of my favorites!

Well, his playing is making my fingers move and crave to play this on my Taylor 🎸 but I know I'll fail countless times for years or decades but still hope 🌱🤞🏻
This is without a doubt some of the best jazz soloing I have ever seen! You took an amazing song and made it completely your own, and we are all better for it!
Sungha, I hope you see this. Been watching you forever. When you were young, you seemed to just play the notes..with your fingers. Music is now coming from your soul. You are true to the music and the joy it seems to bring you. You play with so much feel now, it is a pleasure to watch.....
