I have just read that in a brilliant book called Marillion in the 80s by Nathaniel Webb, the way he tells the story is that as the band stepped off the stage EMI head of promotion told Fish "that little smile broke every mother's heart in Great Britain". Wonderful if true.
@@forestdad yeah its good . im up to 1987 at the moment . i had no idea they went through so many drumeers inbetween mick pionter and ian mosely . ive always loved fish era marillion . cheers
Fascinating to go back to a time when Marillion could get prime time publicity on the BBC. Was it because Terry Wogan was a massive fan or was it because somebody at the BBC had a very cosy relationship with EMI Records? I wonder ...
They should have gone on the show and just played the whole album!
Good to see. Apparently Fish's smile at the end got them extra sales. Thanks for the upload.

Fish was still sporting the balding mullet look when I saw him live for the first time in 1991.😅
Had a major crush on Fish in the 80’s. Loved his songwriting too ❤️👏🏻
Never knew in all my years of being a fan , these guys made it onto the Wogan show, Wow
Beautiful evocative lyrics
god that took me back, i wonder fish if you knew where the ride would take us, you and those of us with lifelong love affairs with your heart
never knew they did wogan, so cool
Thank you for uploading this! I love Misplaced Childhood and this song!
This appearance is what catapulted their visibility.
