Omg!!! I've been waiting for an onboard video of a 312p for years. There's a lot of good track videos on the 312p but this is the first onboard I've seen. This and the 330 p4 and the 365 p2 are the most beautiful prototypes ever to race 👍👍
Going by that logic every car on the grid is a replica... of course it has new parts but the chassis code is original. This car is the 3rd and final 312P built by Ferrari and raced in period by N.A.R.T.

People talk about Gordan Murray's T150 Cosworth V12 revving to 12k, but this thing at full song at 12k absolutely floors me compared to the Cosworth engine. Incredible.
Hard to say! A Porsche 917K is nice too... Let's just say an old school n/a high revving carburator equipped race engine allways sounds lovely! Also BMW 3.0 CSL and M1 Procar! They all show the beautyness of race cars and their sounds (like music in my ears) and they all say "FU" to the Generation "EV Mobility" If you don't like this kind of sound you must be dead or an eco activist... 😜😏🤣

The engineers deserve a big mention in calculating the very close 5th gear ratio gap perfectly matched to the top speed achievable on the long straight.I feel sorry for the younger generation of car enthusiasts . I appreciate we are in 2024 and the invioroment needs to be considered but the fun and excitement has been totally lost in modern cars for both road and track. Yes a new electric 5 seater Hyundia now has over 600hp and most Super cars have " Automatic" paddle shift transmissions. I do understand this makes them faster allowing the manufactures to advertise the incredible 0 to 60 times. But is anyone in 2024 in a modern car really having fun be it on track on on the road??

They had 70 horsepower less than the 312P but weighed 150 kilos less and beat the 312’s every time they raced. This driver was giving it the beans while everyone else was cruising.
He doesn't have a big advantage, he's just willing to take more risk and drive harder. You can spot cars with a displacement double than this Ferrari 312 (Lolas T70 MkIII, Ford GT40s, some Can Am prototypes) left in the dust.
No, for example the backside of 330P4 is ugly... This back of 312P looks much better! Some say the ultimate race car is a Porsche 917K... IMO the 312P comes very close to my dream race car!
@@einautofan6685 You have a point, but, to me, the 312P overall looks like a bit like a car on which a brontosaurus has sat. The proportions are too efficient racing car for real beauty. Mind you, it still beats the pants off the current generation of LMP cars for looks.
