Wait wait wait…Italian movie star…embracing how makeup looks on older women…textured skin…I LOVE this concept and would love to see a video on it. Maybe like the video you did on how you do your makeup for an elegant dinner? How you’d do your makeup to embody an Italian movie star?
@@HannahLouisePoston I'm here for a whole series on "How I would do my makeup for X imaginary situation", including increasingly obscure and specific circumstances like "waking up after going to an Italian movie premiere the night before and having a coffee while gazing out of a hotel room window". It would be duping the vibes of scenarios rather than palettes.... ahem, I'll see myself out...
I would also love to see this! I'm still very young but the older I get, the more hooded my eyes get, and the more textured and lined the skin around my eyes gets. I have the Signature palette and it’s my go-to everyday matte neutral look. However, I am exactly the gal who loves bougie packaging and lives in the “a light wash”, “single shadow”, “subtle enhancement” kind of eyeshadow world who VBB was clearly marketing to. So you pegged that dead-on. I love the liners and the lid lustres too!
I’m right there with you. I love the VB’s signature palette, bronzer brick, lippies and eyeliners. And although I can appreciate bold Indy brands and astral shadows like those in the Pat McGrath line, I don’t wear them. Natasha Denona’s retro is about as wild as I get. 😁
i have to be honest--i LOVE no nonsense hannah. when it comes to money and what's worth our earned cash--it's refreshing to hear some unadulterated honesty. that's what we deserve.
🥺 maybe stick blush showdown / comparison for a future video? With the cheeky posh, atelier, the colourpop one if you still have it, and the new Em Cosmetics So Soft in Pearl Tea (or one of the multiplay / bronzers as a blush), because I'd love to see your take on the new brown-ish Em formula.

I love how informative, honest, totally fair and observational you are!!! You are amazing!!! I too love the Bronze Kajol! So great to line my eyes for depth without the harsh contrast a normal brown color would give... LOVE IT!!
Oh, what fun - I'm in the middle of my own makeup playtime curating little mini quads out of my Sydney Grace singles collection and here comes a Hannah upload to keep me company!
I’ve wanted to try this brand for so long! That eyeshadow palette is stunning and exactly what I was hoping it’d be, easy to throw on a shade or two and good to go. I wish they’d make some more shimmer ones with the same colors from the matte ones!
HANNAH! If you love bronze please please try sea gray as well. OH MY. It is the MOST unique, pigmented, reflected, like gun metal/silver color. I purchased bronze and sea grey together during Black Friday and I am equally obsessed with both. They are truly stunning!!!
Hannah, you inadvertently sold me on the eyeshadow brick! As you were saying how sheer and dusky the shadows were, I was thinking sign me up! I love sheer bronze tones for a one shadow eye look.
This brand is definitely not in my budget but it was really satisfying to watch your review. You can review products in a way that doesn't feed into the thirst for buying the products.
respecting and appreciating what something can do instead of being upset that it doesn't live up to your expectations is quite a good philosophy to apply to lots of things, including yourself and your loved ones. edit: also, if anyone's looking for a wash of color, high quality semi-fancy eyeshadows, i really love the ones from Aveda.
I just have to say your hair color, hair style, makeup colors and the colors you wear are so in harmony with each other! You have a look and it should be your signature look because it all just works together strikingly!
Oh, the bronzer is the best item from victoria beckham beauty. I have tried the eyeshadow palette, the single lid Lustre, the lipstick and the blush. The bronzer is such a good color and blends perfectly. It is one of my all time favorite bronzers period. The lipstick is very nice, too.
"...that feel like you stay where y-where..you...put....them-that feel like YOU stay?-..." This moment brought me so much joy, like, what even happened there. It's just after 24min in: so glad it made the cut.
I’m glad you mentioned how difficult can be for us mature women to use make up. With all the texture, wrinkles and sogginess sometimes applying make up can be quite frustrating.
i'd love for you to compare your existing liners to a cheapy peapy fave of mine, the nyx epic wear liner sticks-- i like when my eyeshadow smudges and creases, it looks lived in, so i usually opt for a cheaper, bolder formula like those. i'm living my italian movie star life too; blended with the wizard whomst applied liner with the soot of a matchstick. i'm finding my balance. i've found auric is way too foolproof and easy to blend for a casually messy lewk so i amp it up a touch. i wholeheartedly believe you should attempt to find a suitable dupe of the vibe of bronze in the formula i mentioned, alongside trying the shade berry goth. it's a mystifyingly deep aubergine with violet shimmer and i know that sounds like a lot, but if you treat it like a neutral, you'll understand the magique of the nuance, HLP! the way it compliments olive but doesn't read halloween witch-- BEYOND it's been my favourite thing i've bought for about a year, and unlike other products that would go bad by now, all it needs is a sharpen to refresh! let's have a smudge party, please~
@@CJM279 I would describe them as extremely malleable & designed (in my opinion) to be moved around and smoked out. I usually put liner down near my eyelashes and smudge it with a brush, making the outer corner of my eye the smudgiest & thickest part of the line. They are incredibly soft like Hannah said, but that’s part of their magic. If you are looking for a eyeliner you can manipulate I’d definitely recommend getting this one. If you like a more defined liner, I’d choose something else. I’ve used up my black one and am currently using up my brown one before repurchasing. The nice thing with the brown one is that on a day I want it to be darker, I can mix a bit of black eyeshadow with it to deepen it too. I hope this helps! :) Merry Christmas!
I absolutely love how you explained the textures of these shadows ompared to the other formulas in your collection. It's how I feel every time someone tells me to buy a BH Cosmetics palette lol. I'm always disappointed and eventually give them away to friends...they just don't stack up next to PM and ND and Clionadh
That eyeliner formula is the best formula I’ve found as well and that bronze color is the color of my dreams. The black ash and navy are also perfection.
That eyeliner looks like exactly what I’ve been looking for in texture and the color Ash looks like the perfect ‘almost black, but not quite’ color that I love.
Your auric/rose inc base makeup combo looks stunning. I've noticed these last few videos you've been using this combo Your base is just perfection. So so pretty!
i greatly enjoy my smoky eye brick in signature, probably because its all mattes (that formula has a more buildable and less sheer wash-y look it seems). i think the color story of silk is very alluring but all the shades being shimmery washes gives me very tom ford quad vibes which just isn't my personal aesthetic, but i know is deeply loved in the luxury beauty natural look community. i will say the mink single shadow is one of if not THE best smokey eye in a little jar... now i feel i need those liners tho
Listening to you talk about the blush makes me want a brand to collab with you on a line of blushes. I have no doubt an eyeshadow palette would be amazing but no one describes blushes like HLP❤️❤️
I got the Lid Lustre in Chiffon for my birthday and it's so beautiful!!! I've seen so many people talk about the eyeliners, will definitely look at picking one up when my brown pencil runs out 😆
I’m really wanting to get Chiffon! Is it glittery? I want it because I want it to be more sheeny, and if it’s glittery I know I’m not going to get much use out of it. Wish it was in Sephora so I could go swatch it
I really like the Tweed Eye Brick and I adore the Tea Rose Lid Lustre…and I agree…I adore the packaging. The only thing I don’t like is the lip stain…it’s super patchy.
Loved this very thorough and thoughtful review. I've been eyeballing this line for many months. Today, you really helped me figure out what I really wanted. Thank you Hannah and hope you have a nice visit with your family when you get there. Safe travels. ❤
OMG. Here's hoping my family doesn't need anything from me for the next 36min! The eggplant parm might burn in the oven but I'm here for the whole thing!!! 😍👍🏼
I also really like the bronzer brick - even though it’s matte and not as golden as I usually go for with pale olive skin somehow it really works and looks natural
Congratulations on 50K! You’ve done the work! I’ve been subscribed, on & off, since early days. It’s not always been my desire to follow a “beautiful things” channel that espouses a low-buy or no-buy mentality, but you’re so authentic and your deep-dives are exactly that, so I find myself watching. Thank you! XOXO Heidi
i would love to see a brand review of phytosurgence; i think a lot of their stuff might speak color or formula wise to u and ur viewers! *i guess this is more of. a recommendation than a review request since i own their products and like them lmao 🤔
I love how State of Kait applies her VB blush (also in Miniskirt and my inspiration for purchase). She fluffs her cheek brush onto the stick of cheek color and then takes it onto her cheeks. It looks lovely on her and you!
the eyeshadow saw the camera and went, oh shoot, gotta get my act together :,) that aside, i’ve been looking for an eyeliner exactly like that, thank you sm for this review! i hadnt even thought of considering this line before.
Hi Hannah!! You're the queen of high-end makeup so I'm pumped for this video!! Also congrats on 50K subs!! You deserve all the success and I'm sure you'll be at 100K then 500K then 1m subs before you know it!! Love you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️

Wow thanks for review I was always interested in VBs’ makeup but no one I knew and was familiar with showed any interest in her brand so I was not able to make up my mind about my purchase. It was really helpful. These eyeshadows look like that kind of formula “I need instruction manual” to me. For 55$ I expect at least some kind of dimension from at least one shade out of 4. That Kajal… uuuu I totally understand. It will stay on my radar for sure. Same goes for that lipstick - the way you described it sounds like everything I ever wanted. Again thanks and have a nice day everyone.
I love VB Beauty 🧡 I really loved your review! I think the shadows really shine in the matte formula, particularly in the eye brick Tweed. I will often use Tweed with Silk over top, and that’s when they truly shine. Additionally, the eye liner is pure magic in all the colors! I have it in bronze, cocoa and the wine color. They are creams and amazing to work with. I can always get a perfect wing with them! Sending love!
I'm very curious as to how much the lip product has in common with the Glossier Ultralip! The Ultralip is much softer, I imagine, and wears down more quickly in the bullet, and I imagine feels thicker on the lips, but I'm curious about how similar the effect is and whether or not my guesses are correct. I'm so happy for you and your new liner love
It's so interesting to me how my relationship with makeup has changed over this pandemic. I have always used makeup as art rather than a daily ritual. Now, given that i work as a masked peon of the dystopia all day, makeup is almost meaningless to me. Spending money on makeup seems absurd when all i want is to get home, remove my mask, and wash my face immediatly. Just me, changing as the world changes. Considering the absurdity of luxury during these dark times. Love your voice as always! I just can't help but wonder.... what comes Next.
I'm sorry you're feeling so unimportant and uninspired 💕 personally I still wear colourful editorial makeup under my mask, just because it makes me happy to be artistic in that way. I hope you find something that feels meaningful soon, and that these dark times come to an end for all of us 🌱
The absurdity is how our governments and media have worked in tandem to create fear, and so many falling under the spell. Trust in your own senses. Not what you are told via a screen. Two weeks to flatten the curve, right?
The eyeshadow looks unimpressive but I like the cream blush, based on what you're saying. I feel that it gives you a flattering flush. If I personally were using a cream blush, I would want something that is difficult to mess up or over do. A shimmery eyeliner sounds eh to me but that's just because every shimmery eyeliner I've used is unimpressive.
I love most products from VB Beauty that I have tried..I think my fave is her gloss, bronzer brick and lid lustre.:) Funny thing... I also go back and forth with that silk palette...somedays I love it and some days I don't...lol.
i feel like the victoria beckham beauty brand is incredibly true to her brand as a whole. her eyeshadow quads are almost for that effortless grungy or effortless glam look that is posh spice, is victoria beckham. and yes it works so well for mature skin & an older audience.
I’m curious about the About-Face Fractal Glitter Eye Paint in Digital Demise or in Tin Pan Alley, but I also get the sense that it’s interesting marketing/packaging for a basic product so maybe not 🤷🏽♂️
Of note. This is not tortoise shell. It is Horn. Love the look but horn is sustainable. Not sure if it is real but def. patterned after horn. (think horn rimmed glasses) Terrific review. Fading without blowing out is a pet peeve.
@@HannahLouisePoston Agreed. I actually would love something sustainable by a brand such as the antlers that are dropped yearly by some animals vs plastic. However, I know nothing about the quantity needed to pull that off. 😀 VB has such lovely packaging.
I got the Posh cheek stick in PLAYGROUND and that one is that browny tone you were talking about that you would have liked. I was really surprised and delighted .. it gives a natural warmth without being orangy or ugly on the skin but instead gives life. At least that is my experience. I am a light med skin tone much like you.
That soft smoky look is gorgeous on you! I would definitely keep it 😊 I doubt I will ever buy anything from this brand but I have a lot of appreciation for eyeshadow that is relatively sheer and has an elegant satin finish. Many Asian brands work like that and I much prefer to the pigmented ++ standard western make up. I often find it too flat matte or too chunky glittery 🤷♀️
I LOVE my Victoria Beckham Smokey Eye Brick in Tweed! It's so easy, natural, it blends like a dream and is an absolute no-brainer in my makeup collection. I think the matte formula lends itself better to the vibe she's going for than the silky-metallic formula you tried.
I would love to see a self sponsored review of you trying all of the formulas of the Charlotte Tillbury lipsticks! I know you didn't love the mattes but I would like to have your take on the other lipsticks :)
I think this wbole brand just has a very old/classic hollywood. That includes the italian star makeup, which i 100% agree about older women embracing their skin texture. Its one of my favourite things to see on older skin. I remembered just how softmy mother's skin looked with her eyeshadow and wrinkles. I just looks so good?? Makes me excited to get wrinkles tbh
I really love this look. But could I make this look with colors I already own? Yes. And I found a great Maybelline liner that is my HG, so I see no need to part with my money. I like your channel to see different looks and inspire new ideas and how I look at my makeup.
yeiiiii i love your reviews, would love to see you review essence cosmetics, i think it would be interesting cause its a really not expensive brand and they have a lot of hidden gems as well as not so good products
Would LOVE to see you review Phytosurgence! They offer cream eyeshadows (some with lots of spangliness), beautiful cream blushes, and very a unique highlighter formula. They also have a skincare line which I have yet to try, but that was where their brand started.
What a great video ! I waited to receive my own VB purchases to whatch your review and I totally recognise my reaction watching and listning to yours, especially with the palette ! I choosed the Tweed one; particularly for the colour Oxblood.....and what a disappointment !!!! I have been waiting for so long to purchase this palette, because of the price (expensive even on sale). And here I was, on Christmas day in front of a color that would swatch on my finger but not on my skin and didn't work with any of my brushes ! At the end, I had to scratch it with a very short, flat, stiffe brush to make it work ! And I have to pack a bunch of shadow so that it shows. The rest of the shadowes were good but they looked almost the same on my lids, especialy without Oxblood (a deep aubergine). BUT, just like you in the video, I have learned how to use this palette (with the right brushes) and what to expect of it. And it really grown in me. The mattes are so velvety. I can achieve my favorite look of the moment with the addition of a bit of a grey: a 1920's silent movie star(ish). I am very into the work of the photograph Sarah Moon, these days. I have always loved the makeup of her models without daring to try it on me. I love the lipstick : I choosed the colour Pose. It's a Taupe and I think it would look gorgeous on you. I have Onyx too and it is beautiful: night and day ! Hope you and your dear ones have a very soft beginning of year
The satin Kajal initially smudged and migrated all around my eyes. It was serious Red Panda vibes with the Bordeaux colour 🤦🏻♀️ However, after watching Sali Hughes talke about this product (she loves it) I learned that I must leave it on my eye for one minute BEFORE smudging it out. And then it stays in place. Also, I don't put it on my lower lash line. It adds an expensive, subtle and chic touch, and I love it now. But it took a while to work out how to use it in a way that worked for my (clearly oily!) eye lids!
I feel like the lipsticks are good, but it only works because it's sheer and it's hard for it not being flattering. I have tried the matte eye bricks and they're like, "I work in an office where no one wears makeup and I want to and they're something I can just throw on", so everything you said makes sense. I have been afraid to get the blush because it's so expensive, but creme blush gets eaten by face and now I want to try it given your description. The eyeliner is holy grail!!! And I am working hard not to buy bronze because I have a lot of eyeliner, but this guarantees that I probably will sometime.
I love VB but I’d love to see you review a more budget friendly option, Uoma by Sharon C line at Walmart. Specifically the foundation. Also, my favorite VB eyeshadow is the brick in Tweed. And if I want to grunge it up I’ll pair it with the Mink shadow.
Always enjoy a no-nonsense review. I'd really like to see your take on La Bouche Rouge. It's not exactly "new" but I've found it nearly impossible to get a hold of the product for testing without actually ordering it and I'm really curious about their highlighter because they suggest you apply it in a sort of strange way (dust it all over the face?!). Their eyeshadow palettes have a very similar vibe to this Victoria Beckham eye brick and the reusable/refillable packaging has been haunting my dreams for literally the past year and a half. If you find you've got time, money, and energy to review this brand, I'd be really interested.
I'm really curious about Bare Minerals-I haven't tried them in forever-but I keep seeing people say X item is impeccable, or that their formulas are really thought out & you can't go wrong with X, Y or Z. I'm also curious about Laura Geller & Jane Iredale, plus Sigma's eyeshadow palettes, in particular :) Love all your reviews! XOXO Edit: Just saw you reached 50K subscribers! Congratulations Hannah!!
I really rate everything I’ve bought from VB Makeup. Eyeshadow palettes, lip colours, eye liner etc. I definitely recommend her lip tint if you’re in the market. It feels like a grown up benefit benetint. Less drying too.
Hi Han , your experience mirrors my own , especially with the shadows, I opted for the tweed colour way. While I came to appreciate it for what it is eventually, I did pass it along as it wasn’t getting the love within my own collection. The liners are so special, I have now replaced my old liners with VB’s . The shadow pots are also beautiful, mink and tea rose were my choices, seeing onyx in your video has ignited a need within 😰 I held off on the blush as I have some westman sticks Im in love with 😌
This cheek colour does look stunning on you though! I would love to see you play with VB's new eye pot shade, it looks like a lovely highlighting, pale nude tone💜

OMG. Here's hoping my family doesn't need anything from me for the next 36min! The eggplant parm might burn in the oven but I'm here for the whole thing!!! 😍👍🏼
oooh sounds delicious!
I also really like the bronzer brick - even though it’s matte and not as golden as I usually go for with pale olive skin somehow it really works and looks natural
I love love love the shade of the lip and the blush on you!
You have to try her lip color in Pose. It’s a beautiful grungy taupe with a bit of mauve. So beautiful!!! Not your typical run of the mill lip shade.
I think this was one of your most beautiful looks! Love!!
Thank you! XOXO Heidi
11: 23 mmmhhhhh I love that italian movie star look....that smudgy eye...ugh so good
That blush made the look! Still watching. I haven't even gotten to Onyx yet.
sometimes I find stick cream blush more impactful when it is applied to the brush vs directly on the face. I love this look!
“Hi my name is Hannah. I over explain things but admit it, that’s why you are here. “ 😀TRUTH!
In a world of “fast food reviews” you are a 5 course meal🧡
:)
i would love to see a brand review of phytosurgence; i think a lot of their stuff might speak color or formula wise to u and ur viewers!
*i guess this is more of. a recommendation than a review request since i own their products and like them lmao 🤔
I've gotten so many messages about them! Definitely on my list!
Very helpful review. And I totally agree about the eye pencil. It’s a superstar product.
The look turned out so gorgeous, I especially love that lip color in you!!
I have the Tweed brick and it’s my most used eyeshadow pallet. I love it so much!
Hi Hannah!! You're the queen of high-end makeup so I'm pumped for this video!! Also congrats on 50K subs!! You deserve all the success and I'm sure you'll be at 100K then 500K then 1m subs before you know it!! Love you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much!! 😭
@@HannahLouisePoston It's just facts ❤️ You're an absolute star and a bright light in this world and on the internet!! Sending you all the love and positive vibes!! ♥️♥️♥️
I agree, the eyeshadow packaging is my favourite ever too
I have the lid lustres in onyx and mink. Mink is such a dream, it’s one of my favorite and most used eyeshadow toppers.
All those colors look absolutely gorgeous on you! Very pretty.
I would happily listen to you review a twig.
PS...also, your "Take care of yourself" message at the end of each video makes me emotional every time. 🖤
THIS IS THE MOMENT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR.
Your eyes look amazing. It’s that there but not there grunge look. Love it!
I love it. The compact and colors. Wish it wasn't so expensive.
I’m curious about the About-Face Fractal Glitter Eye Paint in Digital Demise or in Tin Pan Alley, but I also get the sense that it’s interesting marketing/packaging for a basic product so maybe not 🤷🏽♂️
I would love to see a review like this with some Shiseido products!
Of note. This is not tortoise shell. It is Horn. Love the look but horn is sustainable. Not sure if it is real but def. patterned after horn. (think horn rimmed glasses) Terrific review.
Fading without blowing out is a pet peeve.
it's definitely not real horn or shell!
Fun fact: this Is marking like a clean brand Beauty in their website
@@HannahLouisePoston Agreed. I actually would love something sustainable by a brand such as the antlers that are dropped yearly by some animals vs plastic. However, I know nothing about the quantity needed to pull that off. 😀 VB has such lovely packaging.
Oh I can't wait I love you and your channel! Congrats on 50k! I think you would love the tea rose shadow I have mink and honey.
thank you, Ashley!
Forever adoring your elegance and your curated, perfect lewks ❤️🥰 I wanna be HLP when I grow up (beyond my 28 years)!
Currenty coming back to videos I've liked in the past. Everything old is new again! siSTAR xo
This eyeshadow formula sounds perfect for me, but VB still doesn’t have palette with my color story 😢
That eye shadow palette is the exact size and shape as a business card case. Most card cases have the same open/close mechanism.
Got the liner on you recommendation and woooooow it's amazing!!!
I used to have a really similar MAC bronze eyeliner pencil that was super soft and creamy that I used in the same way! It's a really great tool/look
I’m pretty sure you’re the most elegant gal on UA-cam
I feel like the lipsticks are good, but it only works because it's sheer and it's hard for it not being flattering. I have tried the matte eye bricks and they're like, "I work in an office where no one wears makeup and I want to and they're something I can just throw on", so everything you said makes sense. I have been afraid to get the blush because it's so expensive, but creme blush gets eaten by face and now I want to try it given your description. The eyeliner is holy grail!!! And I am working hard not to buy bronze because I have a lot of eyeliner, but this guarantees that I probably will sometime.
Haven't finished watching yet but I'm wondering why they decided to make that white shimmery shade to be almost half the palette?
Same. 😄 Maybe so that people could use it as face highlighter? Idk.
I DO not know
I love VB but I’d love to see you review a more budget friendly option, Uoma by Sharon C line at Walmart.
XOXO
Edit: Just saw you reached 50K subscribers!
The shadow pots are also beautiful, mink and tea rose were my choices, seeing onyx in your video has ignited a need within 😰
I held off on the blush as I have some westman sticks Im in love with 😌
Oh for self sponsored review, I’d love to hear your thoughts on Surratt 😌
This cheek colour does look stunning on you though! I would love to see you play with VB's new eye pot shade, it looks like a lovely highlighting, pale nude tone💜
