For those of you saying this app is “useless”, the target audience for this app are people that host or plan a lot of events for friends and family. Although apps like partiful already exist, the tighter integration here to iOS is going to be appealing to the more social of us.
It’s terrible tried it and all had to put in emails before they could reply yes or no. Most said “why do we have to do that why can’t we just hit yes or no” I already deleted the app.
Clearly none of you have tried to organize a movie theatre night with 8 people at a specific time and place and then had to create group chats and note documents and schedules to make sure everyone is accounted for, has paid, knows all the details, etc. 😅 This app is a dream come true for nerds and event organizers.
I think everyone would be grateful if this was a free Calendar upgrade. That would make everyone's investment in the Apple ecosystem more valuable. But it isn't free. You can't send invites w/o an iCloud+ subscription,. That makes your investment in the Apple ecosystem feel like another half-baked product, designed to help Tim Cook to stick his hand in your wallet every month.
This video was SUPER helpful. The stuff I read wasn't really giving me an idea what Apple Invites is. Now that I've seen it, I can say I will definitely be using this app often. Thanks for taking the trouble to inform us so well.
This sounded cool till I see that android users have to create an apple account. Personally I wouldn’t create an account to simply reply to an invitation and I suspect many people feel the same, which will defeat the purpose of the app.
once it is created or you accept an invite there is a calendar button that will autocrat the whole thing for your calendar. but I do not believe it is automatic yet.
I think it could be perfect if it had something like polls, so that people can actually help decide de date for an event. Sometimes you want to host an event but you don’t have a final date yet. No comment section or anything, just a poll. Keep it simple.
Great but verifying through email just adds an extra step that makes it too fiddly for me to send to my friends--although I get it's because of the name, icon etc. If it was just a simple yes/no with the option to sign in that would be more useful I think.
It does let you have multiple hosts, after your cohost views the invitation you can click there name in the list of viewers then promote them to send it to whoever they wish.
Biggest miss is not being able to have a description about the party. What if it’s a surprise party or your meeting at a place and then going on to another place for drinks. I needs a description section. Otherwise this is a great app and will quickly replace Facebook
@ That’s too bad. Would’ve been nice if it was like Apple CarPlay where people can just add to the playlist even without having an Apple Music subscription
I created a test event and sent it to a friend with her non iCloud or Apple ID Email and she was asked to sign into an Apple ID or create one... how do you work this with android and others???
This would've been nice because I already created a website and built all these characteristics into it for my daughter's graduation from high school. Daylight dollar short.
Nice idea but very glitchy. Sent and got someone to accept invite to test event. App still claims they haven’t responded! Also it’s concerning that the understandable sharing of Contacts doesn’t specify exactly what Apple wants access to (email, address, etc ‘and more’?). I use Contacts as an informal note taker to record personal detail on clients etc that is no business of anyone’s, and certainly not Apple. Does sharing Contacts give them explicit access to this?
I love the fact I don’t have to buy another service. Plus it’s the Apple clean look so that’s a plus. I can’t complain, even tho I don’t host that much. Anything that can get rid of a META app I’m all in
What’s missing from smartphones these days? You’ve heard we’ve reached a limit to innovation. I feel something is missing from the experience but can’t pin point what that exact activity is
I might use it sometime, though probably not too much since here in Europe the iPhone marketshare is relatively low when compared to the US... Though maybe I'll use it for the next event I'm hosting to see if it works well for me
Apple can't innovate my ass! Finally fixing all the pressure points eVites left in 1998 🤣 This will go on the list of great Apple innovations just like NameDrop, Journal, and that group planning app that didn't even work in the launch video.
LOL! I thought this app was for us non-tech Apple users to schedule our lives around the Apple Invite event so we wouldn’t miss the latest announcement of Apple’s latest product unveiling. However, a subscription app is a HARD NO.
1:52 Apple needs to fire their artistic design team. This Memoji style is becoming as tired as the abandoned Skeuomorphism. Every male looks exactly the same - and nothing like real life. A friend of mine is 70% bald on top and image playground gives him a huge shuck of flowing hair on top of his head - which actually was a bit socially awkward when everyone in the room was thinking the same thing ("you are balding, but it gave you hair").
Come on Apple. I've been waiting to go back to iPhone but can't find a reason to. The Apple I used to know what are the greatest innovators of the smartphone. What is this!
@victuringan1429 not sure why the phone in my pocket is worthy of your concern, but until Apple creates an innovative product that can accomplish what I need a phone to accomplish, I sure will.
Why does Apple create so many unnecessary apps, such as journals Tips reminder Playground genmoji? Does those creators from Apple really understand what people need in reality
Jesus so much negativity in comments. UA-cam is really becoming more and more like Twitter. Toxic. Apple made an happy app. It’s an app. So much sarcasm for what. An app. You don’t like it don’t use it. What does this have to do with Apple innovation. Seriously people grow up. Who cares.
Another useless App like Journals. Apple has no innovators left. Especially when you see Samsung rolled out the New HOME UP update. Compare that to this.. Is night and day.
Journals is only useless if you don’t know how to fuckin write. It’s amazing for those who actually reflect on their lives and are capable of being introspective. You should try it sometime. Maybe once you’ve done enough self-work to regain your own self-worth you’ll be able to use the Invites app to meetup with your invisible friends.
More lock-in. More subscriptions. More attempts to trap users inside the Apple Ecosystem. What happened to creating products and services that were too good to ignore? This whiffs of desperation and FOMO-grasping BS.
I don't get making this app in 2025 when evite has been around for decades and free to everyone... They could have had this team making other stuff MUCH better instead.
Another AI gimmick giving Apple the opportunity to publicise being on the AI wave, but as with a lot of these things, just a gimmick that people might use once or twice!
Hopefully this fails. When will the Apple consumer focused en-shitification of iOS, MacOS etc. end ? What happened to Apple products being for creators ?
Can you please!!, apple, remember your mac users and that you created catalist yourself? Icloud shity paywall for such a useless crap? No way. I thought you'd think different. Oh no, AI doesn't work properly yet. I'd have almost given to you for journal being behind a stupid paywall but this one? It's so damn stupid!
$4 trillion company launch a Birthday invite app and compete with unemployed 25 years old single apple developer, win the game by own the whole system!!!
Instead of making such nonsense, Apple should rather add some useful settings in the options… For example, give us the ability to adjust the volume separately for ringtones, notifications, alarms, etc. Give us more customization options for the home screen, like changing the grid and allowing more icons. Or a screen recorder with more features, like adding annotations while recording, etc.Unbelievable, Apple… just unbelievable…
@ahh_yes What are you saying, man? You probably have an iPhone and don’t even know how it works! In the Sounds & Haptics settings, there is only one slider you can enable. This slider controls the volume for ringtones, notifications, alarms, etc. If you want to have a different volume for each one, you can’t. For example, if you use a Samsung device, everything is separated, and you can set different volumes for any type of notification.
I wish this was integrated into the Calendar app
I like the idea that guests can easily access a shared photo album so you don’t have to ask “Hey can you send me that photo?”

Nice idea, but it needs the functionality to add shared attachments for things like itineraries and tickets etc.
Should have been a Calendar feature, instead it's another attempt by Apple to sell you another Apple subscription you don't need.
I would love this app to also let ppl come to digital events like when I go live or when I drop a song 🙏🏾
Great app! Can't wait to use for those CES parties lol
You better be adding me to those 👀

This app reminds me of the old cards app where you used to be able to send postcards or something like it back on iOS 5
How do you get the QR code to show up?
Another individual app? I’ll never remember all of the apps I have to use to operate my device.
Thank you Apple! You created a Gmail Calendar event!! 😂
I like it because the other alternative is paperless post or Evite and they either have a cost or have ads.
Wow, what a pleasant surprise.
Not an app anyone expected but a pleasant surprise imo.
I’d prefer using this over Facebook tbh.
Thank you.
Does it work for business?
Android users cannot add to the photo album right?
Is upgrading to iCloud+ a must to access the app 😢😢 ?
Another few feet on that apple walled garden. Leaving out friends and family with android phones.
Does the playlist feature only work with Apple Music? Can others add to the playlist?
Yes, it is Apple Music only. Yes, it allows event invitees to collaborate on playlist - if they also pay for Apple Music.

Apple making apps that entice people to stick with iPhones. Kind of what I’d expect by today’s standards.
