    Thank-you for blazing the trail with this phone. There's almost no repair info to be found online, but thanks to your video I was able to successfully replace the charge port on my Moto Hyper One. The original adhesive was enough to get the back plate back on the phone.

      You're welcome. If you need any new adhesive down the line, you can check mobiledefenders.com usually they carry most parts.

    I fucked up and broke one of the cables that you remove at 3:46, is there a name for this type of cable/connector and is it possible to replace it? the phone turns on and functions without it, but the bottom right corner of the screen doesn't register touches anymore.

      Here is a link, they aren't for your model phone but should still work if the lengths match. Not sure what lengths they are exactly etc. (they are called coaxial antenna cables) www.mobiledefenders.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=0&q=coax

      Well this video shows how to take it apart to replace it. Might be a bad motor on the unit and might need to be replaced.

    Do I have to do all this to just replace a cracked screen or can I pop the screen off from the front somehow?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 роки тому

      No you would need to disassemble it so you can disconnect the screen cable and be able to pry the old screen off and run the new screen cable and re attach it to the main board.

    could you tell me how to fix the dolby audio issue. My speakers are not working because my phone has disabled the dolby audio because it believes that the headphone jack is connected but it isnt. Is there any way i can get this fixed?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 роки тому

      You would have to somehow remove whatever is stuck in the headphone jack making it think something is plugged in, or have a professional place solder off the jack and install a new headphone jack.

    Can you do a video of how to change the screen that would be great thanks

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 роки тому +1

      Once you take the phone apart and disconnect the screen cable etc., all that is left is to heat the front of the phone where the screen is with a hair dryer or heat gun to loosen the adhesive and pry the screen off. Then you apply new adhesive, or if your screen comes with pre installed adhesive you don't need to do that, and run your new screen cable back through the slit in the midframe, re-apply your screen to the frame and re-assemble the phone. I don't have the phone with me anymore.

    Sir lhave motorola droid maxx xt1080 can i use other motorola madel battery because xt 1080 battery not available

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 років тому +1

      Most likely no, because very rarely are batteries the same size to fit the space the specific phone has for the battery and also very rarely are the connectors the same or located at the same position so your cable would reach to connect to the board. Even if the space is there, the connector is the same, you also sometimes have software that might not read the battery chip correctly and give you issues like a battery icon with a "!" or not allow to power on etc. Now say in circumstances that a phone is the same exact model just a higher end version say a S10 or a S10+, the battery connector might be the same, the phone software might read the battery chip correctly however the space and position of the battery might be different and make it hard to fit or work with. The only phone to my knowledge that was able to be used with a upgraded battery with no problems was the droid razr and droid razr maxx where the body and build of the phone was exactly the same aside from the slimmer battery and back of the razr compared to the razr maxx. This allowed you to upgrade the razr with the larger razr maxx battery and only need to slightly modify the back plate to seat in place with the larger battery.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 роки тому

      Hi, you can try using a suction cup to help pull up a bit to give you some leverage or if you don't have one, a thin razor or something (even though that may scrape or scuff your housing)

      @@conceptbuildingsolutionsde6707 There is only one seem or line separation between the back panel and the frame, so should be only one place you can pry the back plate off or put your pry tool in between.

      lol some like it some don't I guess depends on each persons needs from their devices. It personally would not be my primary choice either but that's just because I usually tend to go for the higher end devices.
